As time passed, the Sannin's attitudes towards Uchiha Megumi and her son underwent subtle changes.
Orochimaru seemed still hostile, but his gaze clearly held more covetousness and greed.
Tsunade, on the other hand, had done a complete 180-degree turn, changing from hostility to friendship.
She, who had been the most aggressive during the siege, was now the most determined to protect Seiya.
Jiraiya's attitude was ambiguous; he wasn't paying attention to Seiya at all now.
He was fully focused on whether Tsunade would help Orochimaru heal his hands.
Shizune silently sighed with emotion, thinking that after more than ten years, the Uchiha infant in the swaddling clothes had grown into such a handsome young man.
Megumai-senpai's genes were truly exceptional!
Yakushi Kabuto quietly sized up Seiya, secretly comparing him to Sasuke Uchiha.
Orochimaru-sama had been searching for an excellent vessel for Reincarnation.
Sasuke Uchiha, with his Sharingan Kekkei Genkai, had always been the best candidate. However, it now seemed that he might have to yield his position.
Seiya scanned the room, noting everyone's reactions, and then stiffly said to Tsunade, "You don't need to worry about my safety. You should respond to Orochimaru's request first."
An attempted murder is still tantamount to murder.
Seiya always kept the Sannin's crime in mind.
He must retaliate against every single one of them without reservation!
Tsunade's gesture of goodwill was merely closing the barn door after the horse had bolted.
Seiya didn't care at all and wouldn't have a good attitude towards her.
Tsunade had lived for decades and understood human nature.
She instantly grasped Seiya's feelings. She sighed softly, turned to face Orochimaru, and said indifferently,
"The jutsu you mentioned is nothing more than the 'Impure World Reincarnation' developed by Grandpa Tobirama. That is not true resurrection."
"When a person dies, they are dead. A cheap resurrection would only strip life of its precious meaning!"
"Excellent!" Jiraiya couldn't help but applaud.
Tsunade's firm refusal was completely unexpected.
After all, the temptation of bringing a loved one back from the dead was not something anyone could easily resist.
"Tsunade-sama!" Shizune cheered excitedly, her face beaming with joy, her eyes full of adoration and respect, proud of Tsunade-sama's clear-headed wisdom.
Orochimaru's face was grim. Tsunade's refusal to heal him meant his hands were completely useless, and he would never be able to perform hand signs again!
After a long silence, he said coldly, "Tsunade, it seems you haven't just been gambling while traveling the Shinobi world. The change in your mindset is unfamiliar to me. Negotiation has failed. I'll have to take the hard approach! Let's move somewhere else and have a fight!"
"Are you sure?" Tsunade couldn't help but wonder where Orochimaru got the confidence to dare challenge her and Jiraiya. It was a two-on-one fight, which he had no chance of winning even before his hands were crippled, let alone now!
Could he possibly be relying on this boy with the diamond-shaped glasses?
Tsunade glanced at Yakushi Kabuto beside Orochimaru. He was unremarkable, seemed to have no outstanding qualities, and was at best on Kakashi's level, which wouldn't sway the battle.
Orochimaru smiled faintly, looked at Seiya, and said, "Brat, since you dared to appear in the Land of Fire, your mother must be nearby! Call her out, and we can deal with these people together and avenge ourselves!"
At this, Tsunade and Jiraiya were instantly startled. As expected, Orochimaru was the one whose mind worked the fastest! Ordinary people just saw Seiya, the person, but Orochimaru saw Uchiha Megumi behind Seiya!
It made sense. The identity of an Uchiha descendant was too dangerous.
Uchiha Megumi would never allow her son to openly walk around the Land of Fire alone; she must be constantly accompanying him and protecting him.
For a moment, all eyes were focused on Seiya.
His mother was the only variable that could influence the situation!
Seiya chuckled lightly and said indifferently, "My mother is in the village. I came to the Land of Fire on a mission by myself."
Orochimaru's eyes narrowed.
He felt his intelligence was being insulted and couldn't help but demand, "How could Uchiha Megumi feel safe with you coming to the Land of Fire alone?!"
"I know it's incredible, but it's true," Seiya smiled faintly, then added,
"And even if my mother were here, she would only cooperate with Tsunade and Jiraiya to attack you. Legitimate Shinobis must do legitimate things. Eradicating rogue Shinobis is an inescapable duty!"
Yakushi Kabuto smirked and retorted, "As far as I know, your mother is also a rogue Shinobi of Konoha, not a legitimate Shinobi."
Seiya glanced at him and said indifferently, "Being a legitimate Shinobi of Kumogakure is enough."
Yakushi Kabuto refused to concede, countering, "If you put it that way, Orochimaru-sama is a legitimate Shinobi of the Otogakure."
"Are you holding a debate?!" Tsunade shouted, charging toward Yakushi Kabuto. Wearing a loose black coat, she moved swiftly and without hindrance, trying to pick the weakest target first.
"Don't look down on people!" Chakra appeared in Yakushi Kabuto's hands.
He immediately went underground, also choosing the weak target, and soon burst out from under Seiya's feet, grabbing his legs.
"I think you're the one looking down on people!" Seiya's body became illusory, and a Raiton: Hand Blade fiercely lunged toward Yakushi Kabuto's head.
Yakushi Kabuto was startled.
He quickly retreated underground again, returning to his original spot, and re-examined Seiya, sighing with emotion, "Orochimaru-sama, to be blunt, the situation is looking quite unfavorable now."
At the same time, Kurenai Yuhi and the others arrived at the scene.
Orochimaru glanced at them, not paying them any mind, and continued to look at Seiya with great interest.
"You seem to have a very special ability. Is this why Uchiha Megumi dared not to accompany and protect you?"
Seiya neither confirmed nor denied it, "Instead of pondering over me, you should worry about your own situation."
Orochimaru grinned, glanced at the bustling casino, and felt completely confident.
"This is the center of a busy town. Konoha Shinobis dare not start a major battle with me. Otherwise, this place would suffer immense damage. The Fire Daimyo would not be pleased, and Konoha would have a hard time explaining it!"
This was true. Legitimate Shinobis could not openly engage in a huge fight in a busy area, or the severe damage to public property would result in unmanageable liability.
"It seems I won't be able to kill you today," Seiya raised an eyebrow, sounding quite regretful.
"There will be a chance later. Once I obtain Sasuke's body and possess the Uchiha bloodline, we shall settle the score!"
As he spoke, a light of excitement flickered in Orochimaru's eyes.
Then, he had a flash of inspiration and asked with great interest, "Sasuke's Sharingan has two Tomoe. You are about the same age as him. How many Tomoe do you have now?"
"What do you think?" Seiya countered.
Orochimaru pondered for a moment and guessed, "Uchiha Megumi was born with a Three-Tomoe Sharingan. You are her son, and you have lived for over ten years more than her age when you were born. Barring any accidents, you should have at least the Three-Tomoe now!"
