Today was a special day.
The Ancestors of the Uchiha Restoration met historically in Kumogakure, destined to start a new chapter for the Uchiha legacy and leave a colorful mark in Shinobi world history.
Megumai was in high spirits and had a few drinks with Uchiha Mikoto.
However, when she put down her glass, unwilling to drink more, Uchiha Mikoto became increasingly intoxicated.
Life's experiences were full of ups and downs.
After years of living without a fixed home, drifting like duckweed, she had now come to Kumogakure with Seiya and met the strongest clan member of her generation.
Uchiha Mikoto was filled with emotion.
In the deepest part of her heart, she found the same sense of security and closeness she had when she lived in the clan compound.
Laughing clan members, familiar black hair and black eyes...
Uchiha Mikoto's eyes were blurry with tears.
She felt like she had finally returned home after years of wandering.
Dazed, she leaned on the table, her lips moving, muttering incoherently.
"She's drunk, I see." Megumai sighed softly and gently moved the strands of hair stuck to Uchiha Mikoto's lips.
"Mikoto-neesan is too happy," Seiya, who was sitting on the sofa, interjected.
He and Karin had finished dinner long ago and were each sipping on a glass of juice.
Megumai lightly nodded her chin, "Mikoto has been hiding for so many years. It must have been difficult. Today, getting drunk helped her vent a lot of pent-up feelings. That's a good thing."
Then, she subconsciously looked at the clock on the wall, which was a blur.
"Son, what time is it now?"
"It's almost half-past ten."
"It's getting late."
Megumai nodded slightly and smiled at Karin, "The village probably hasn't had time to assign houses to you yet, have they?"
"There's been a baby boom in recent years, so the housing in the village is a bit tight. There's not much room. They're currently building on a large scale. It'll be a few years before they're ready to use."
"If you don't mind, you and Mikoto can stay at our house for the time being."
Karin glanced at Seiya, then stood up and bowed deeply to Megumai.
"Thank you, Onee-chan! We appreciate it!"
Megumai waved her hand, smiling, "There are many rooms at home. Go upstairs with Seiya-kun and pick a bedroom you like."
Hearing this, Seiya stood up and led Karin upstairs.
"Son, remember to prepare a room for your Mikoto-neesan as well. Get all the necessities ready," Megumai added.
"Got it, Mom."
As he spoke, the sound of Seiya's footsteps faded into the distance.
Megumai looked back at Uchiha Mikoto, who was passed out at the dining table.
Her eyebrows raised slightly. She gently helped her up and walked outside.
...
Walking up the marble spiral staircase brought them to the center of the second floor.
Looking around, twelve rooms were equally spaced along the circumference. The exterior designs were uniform and neat.
Seiya introduced, "These are all bedrooms. They look similar from the outside, but the interior design and layout are all different."
"So many bedrooms!"
Karin exclaimed. After looking around, she asked, puzzled, "Tojo-kun, do you have any siblings?"
Seiya shook his head, "No, I'm Mom's only child."
Karin was even more puzzled, "Then why does your house have so many bedrooms? You and Aunt can't possibly live in all of them."
Seiya smiled and explained, "Actually, our house wasn't like this originally. It only had one master bedroom and one second bedroom. But a few years ago, Mom had this house torn down and rebuilt. Now it's like this."
"Why did Aunt design it this way?" Karin asked curiously.
Seiya's expression froze.
He coughed lightly, faced Karin's bright, eager eyes, and finally answered truthfully, "Because I will marry many wives in the future. The house must have a large number of bedrooms."
"..."
Karin was slightly stunned.
She blinked her eyes, and her rosy little mouth slightly parted.
In her understanding, marrying a bunch of wives was a habit of Daimyo and nobles; Shinobis didn't seem to do that.
Seiya had to explain further.
"The Uchiha clan was annihilated. I'm a man and bear the heavy responsibility of continuing the bloodline. I must marry as many wives as possible, propagate the lineage, and strengthen the Uchiha. However, it will no longer be the Uchiha, but the Tojo clan."
"Oh, I see!"
Karin nodded, her eyes flashing, lost in thought.
Seiya paused, then continued his introduction,
"This floor has a total of twelve bedrooms. Four of them already have owners. You can look at the remaining eight and see which one you like."
Hearing this, Karin looked around.
In the two o'clock direction, the vermilion bedroom door was hung with a bright yellow circular plaque carved with a dragon and phoenix pattern, inscribed with the ancient characters "Tojo Clan Mother."
In the three o'clock direction, the vermilion bedroom door was hung with two bright yellow circular plaques.
The top one was inscribed with "Ancestor of the Restoration," and the bottom one with "Beloved Son."
In the eight o'clock direction, the pure white bedroom door was hung with a golden-yellow circular jade plaque inscribed with "Yugito Nii."
In the nine o'clock direction, the pure black bedroom door was hung with a golden-yellow circular jade plaque inscribed with "Samui."
Karin rubbed her eyes in disbelief, looked again, and then exclaimed, "Tojo-kun, are Yugito-neesan and Samui-neesan already your wives?!"
"Of course not!"
Seiya looked at Karin in surprise, unable to imagine how her little brain could come up with such an idea.
"I'm not even thirteen years old yet! How could I have a wife?"
Karin giggled, "Didn't you just say, Tojo-kun, that these rooms are reserved for your wives?"
"There are always exceptions to everything, aren't there? We also need to keep a few bedrooms to entertain guests," Seiya explained.
"Yugito sensei is my supervising jonin and often comes to my house to discuss my teaching plan with my mother. Samui-neesan is my mother's only disciple and often comes to ask my mother about medical issues. Sometimes they talk late into the night, so they just stay over at my house."
"Oh." Karin lightly nodded her chin, "Like me today."
Seiya smiled, "You'll be here for more than just today. According to Mom, you and Mikoto-neesan will be living here for several years, until the newest batch of houses in the village are built."
"That's right."
Karin nodded thoughtfully, then her expression dimmed slightly, "Tojo-kun has helped me so much-saving my life and providing accommodation-yet I can't do anything for you. You lack nothing..."
"What are you talking about?" Seiya interrupted, smiling, "Your sensory ability is unmatched in the world. It played a crucial role throughout this journey. Without your precise sensing, we would have had to expend dozens of times more effort to eliminate dangers!"
"Really? Hee-hee!"
Karin immediately beamed with joy, and the gloom in her heart was swept away.
"Pick a bedroom. You'll be living here for a long time, so be sure to choose one you really like," Seiya said.
"Mm!"
Karin nodded seriously, filled with excitement.
