Chapter 10
When Hazel woke up, she freshened up and was about to dress up when she heard a knock on her door. When she went to check,
"What do you want?" she asked. After seeing it was Kenzie.
"I came to get my clothes. 'Cause I see you stole some of my clothes too," Kenzie replied, smirking.
"You know you have great taste. I mean, see the clothes you wear. You see how you arrange the room? For it to catch my eyes? I love taking things from the people I hate the most. And I'm gonna take some of your beautiful clothes too," Hazel replied, smirking.
"Hey, aren't you ashamed? How would you wear a boy's clothes? Even if you behave like one and dress like one, you're not supposed to wear a guy's clothes when he's neither your husband, brother, or boyfriend," Kenzie snapped.
"Take your clothes, but I'm not gonna give you this one," Hazel said, giving him some of his clothes except for the matching blue sweater and joggers.
"Hey, hey, that's my favorite! You can't just take it!" Kenzie snapped.
"Na 'it actually cut my eye' and I told you I will take things from you. And because I like it and because I hate you, so there's no getting it back," Hazel replied, smirking.
"Actually, there's no point in arguing with you. I'm leaving," Kenzie said, leaving for his new room.
"Bye," Hazel said, but Kenzie had already shut the door of his room, which is next to hers. Hazel got dressed and went downstairs for breakfast.
Morning, moms! Hazel greeted both Hailey and Emily.
"Morning, dear! How are you?" Emily replied.
"Morning. How was your night? I hope that jerk of a son didn't bother you again," Hailey replied.
"Good, Mom. And 'second mom', my night was great. And if your son should brothers me, I would give him a taste of his own medicine. I am not some weak girl. And also, he is the weak thing. I have beat him, destroy his car... it's him, but he couldn't do anything," Hazel explained.
"Oh, so you are that girl who taught him a lesson!" Hailey asked.
"Yeah," Hazel replied. "You were also the one who destroyed his new sports car?" Hailey asked again.
"Yes," Hazel replied. "You know what? I will love you. I love you, Mom! With what you did to him... he's so arrogant, and I need someone to teach that jerk a lesson," Hailey said.
"I love you too," Hazel replied.
"Hazeeeeel you did what?" Emily screamed. "Mom, not again!" Hazel replied.
"Hazel, do you know the amount of times you've landed in jail? How many times I have paid you out? And you still tend to continue with that behavior of yours," Emily said.
"But, Mom, he crossed his limits, especially when he ran into Lucy with his sports car," Hazel explained.
"What if you landed in jail with what you did to him?" Emily said.
"But she didn't," Hailey replied.
"Hazel, let me tell you something. I won't always be there when you need me, okay? What if I die and you land in jail? When I die, do you think I'd come back to life to pay you out?" Emily snapped.
"Emily, come down!" Hailey said.
"Mom, how would you say that? You... you won't die? Please don't say that. It hurts me when you still think of leaving me in this world. What do you think I'd do without you in my life? I'd also die if you die." Hazel said to her mom, tears falling off her eyes.
"You guys should stop, okay. And Emily, don't talk about leaving the world again, okay. You're already making her cry now. If you don't think of yourself, at least think of your daughter," Hailey said.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. Please stop crying," Emily said.
"Mom, it's okay. And also, I should head to school now or else I'll be late," Hazel said, leaving the house.
"You see what I told you? She doesn't want to accept the fact that I'd die someday, talkless of talking about my terminal illness with her," Emily said sadly.
"Don't worry, she'll come around," Hailey replied sadly.
When Hazel got to school, the school compound looked so decisive. Not thinking too much about it, she headed towards the school building. Once inside the school building, she noticed the hallway also looked decisive, but without thinking too much of it, she continued walking. But as she was walking towards her locker, her instinct kicked in, telling her to stop walking, but she ignored her instinct. After taking a few steps, she suddenly tripped over something and fell right into something slimy and sticky. Hazel was surprised 'cause there was
nothing in the way... that was what she thought. But there was something on the way. When she looked at where she tripped... maybe she wasn't paying too much attention while walking, she thought. Some students started coming from their hiding spot, laughing with their phones in hand. Hazel just ignored everyone knowing why all the students weren't in the school compound and the school hallway...
