Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5: Hawk Eyes

It's been 2 weeks since Mihawk started his dojo challenge, and with that time Raeven successfully made an eternal log pose for the Ilisia Kingdom. Fortunately, the king this time around is not the one who has beef with Monkey D. Dragon, and the citizens here are genuinely happy, and almost all of them are kind.

While Mihawk is sweeping the island looking for swordsmen, Raeven is checking out their farming skills, cooking skills, brewing skills, and even some local things that you can only get here.

This is one of his hobbies: detailing the specialties of every island that they have been to, especially about farming and brewing skills. In the future, Raeven wants to be a farmer, plant some grapes, brew them into a liquor, and then have a happy family.

That night when Mihawk returned to their inn, he was very happy; he immediately told what happened to Raeven.

"So you broke through to the swordsman realm? This means we have to celebrate," Raeven said as he laughed. After the two of them took a bath, they headed outside to the pub to have a celebration.

"The commander of the knights here is very tough; I think he has the strength of a 100 million-belly pirate. He even knows how to use basic armament Haki and some kind of skill he calls Rokushiki," Mihawk said while they were eating.

"Rokushiki is the main martial art that the Marines and Cipher Pol use; tomorrow I will tell them to you. If that commander can use Rokushiki, then he must be from the Marine Headquarters; based on what I read in the news, only marines from the Headquarters are lucky enough to have the chance to learn Rokushiki," Raeven said.

"So that's why he's so strong. Luckily, I broke through and successfully broke his defense. Even with my Haki, I can't scratch him at all, but when I broke through, I slashed him, and I won," Mihawk said.

"That's maybe because you and that commander's Armament Haki are on the same level. Battles are the best way to train Haki; remember that, Mihawk," Raeven said as he continued eating.

Mihawk, on the other hand, nodded and started eating too. After they finished eating, Raeven paid the bill, which was 430,000 beli. When the two of them first ate here, the owner was shocked, but now he was smiling whenever they saw these two brothers.

"Come back again soon," the owner said with a smile.

"Their chef is good at cooking, but they can't match your cooking at all, brother," Mihawk said as he was walking, carrying Yoru on his shoulder.

"At least it's still tasty, right? So you finished this island a lot quicker. Tomorrow we leave this place," Raeven said. Just like that, the two of them travelled the West Blue island by island.

February 1486

West Blue

An unnamed small island

Mihawk and Raeven are currently staying on this small island, just a kilometer wide. This is their temporary base while the two of them are here at West Blue.

The small island had a lot of trees and a lot of animals; here are hogs, 2-meter-tall hogs. Raeven and Mihawk's campsite is near the shore of the island, where they can go fishing easily.

Today is just another day for Raeven. He woke up and looked at his pocket watch, and it was already 9am. Mihawk was gone, probably exploring the forest, so he brewed a cup of tea for two and sat down at their meal table.

"Come out already; I'll count to 3. If you don't come out, then I will kill you," Raeven said as he smiled, then counted 1.

"You!! You have already learned observation Haki?" A big albatross wearing a suit and a small hat on its head said.

"Come and sit, owner of the newspaper agency, Mr. Morgans," Raeven said, which shocked Morgans again.

"I didn't know that you, Dracule Raeven, even knew my name. This is the first time that we've seen each other, right, and I'm in my full Zoan form too," Morgans said as he sat down at the table and took a sip of his tea.

"Let's cut to the chase and head straight to business. Your birds have been tracking us for a while now. What do you want?" Raeven asked as he placed his tea on the table.

"One of my informants told me that I could meet the young swordsmanship prodigy here, and as you said before, as an upstart in the newspaper business, I want to be the first one to have a one-on-one interview with your brother."

"I came here just to test if the information is right, but I didn't think that not only would the information be right, but I could even glimpse your strength here," Morgan said.

"You see, a lot of speculations are running on the sea about you, the elder brother of Dracule Mihawk, a man who just strolls island after island while his little brother is challenging every dojo. While your little brother is so talented, you, on the other side, are talentless. Everyone is saying that you are—" Before Morgans finishes what he is saying, he sees a rapidly approaching blade that nearly kills him.

"You have a lot of courage to say that, birdman. Brother, don't stop me; I'll slice him off," Mihawk said as he looked at Morgans. The killing intent in his eyes is so intense that even Morgans is finding it hard to breathe.

"Relax, Mihawk; just what the others think about me, isn't that right, Mr. Morgans?" Raeven said.

"Yes, that's right, that's the opinion of the others in the sea. I, on the other hand, didn't think about that," Morgans quickly said, then he saw Raeven's hands had stopped the sword on Mihawk's hands, which had nearly killed him.

"See, relax, Mihawk. Why do you care so much about what the weaklings think? It's below us," Raeven said as Mihawk relaxed and he sat down beside him.

"If I meet those bastards, I'll cut them till no one can identify them," Mihawk said, still fuming. Raeven handed him a tea.

"Mr. Morgans, you can do your interview. Don't worry, with me here he won't do anything bad," Raeven said.

"Can I really interview your brother?" Morgans quickly bounce back to life.

"You can, but I want information about those men who said my brother is weak," Mihawk said.

"We don't need information; just think about this: you owe us a favor," Raeven said, and then he looked at Morgans, which shocked Morgans.

"A favor? For an upstart like me?" he asked.

"Yes, you can say that; I'm investing in you. You see, I have a good eye, and I pick people very well. I can see that you are going to hit it big in the future," Raeven said.

"Really, brother? This birdman will make it big in the future?" Mihawk asked with some doubt. What did his brother see in this giant bird?

"Yes, so Mr. Morgans, do we have a deal?" Raeven asked, and then he raised his arm for a handshake. Morgans snapped out of his thoughts quickly and shook his hand.

"My plan is to let everyone on this sea know the truth of what's currently happening in the world. That favor, I'll take it," he said. When Mihawk heard this, he was surprised.

"The world government won't let you do that," he said, which shocked Morgan again. It looks like these brothers are not that simple.

"Then they can try; I have my ways, so can we start the interview?" Morgans said. When he saw Mihawk nod, he quickly took out a notebook and a den den mushi voice recorder.

The whole interview is quite quick, just about 30 minutes, just some simple questions about age and where they came from, about Mihawk's ambition and others.

"The whole North Blue and West Blue have named you Hawk-Eyes. Are you okay with that?" Morgans asked.

"Well, that has a nice ring to it; don't change it." Raeven is the one who answered the question, to which Morgan just nodded.

"Then Raeven-kun, can I ask how old you are?" Morgans asked.

"Oh, right now I'm 5 years old; I'm older than Mihawk by just minutes," he said.

"Ohhhh, so the two of you are twins. Okay, I'll write this down. Wait, wait, you two are twins?!"
