Taro POV
Taro nodded in understanding, "Yeah, if this jutsu were to get out, the amount of chaos it would cause would be astronomical."
He looked at the now lifeless puppet and sighed, "Enough of that. Can you tell me where that ancient city is located?"
Although the city could've been looted already, Taro believed that he could still gain something out of it. Something critical like knowledge, because from now on, he can't use his previous memories anymore, as he didn't watch the full series of Naruto, nor did he fully absorb all information the anime gave him.
Thus he still wanted to go to gain even a tiny bit of information about "Kaguya." The worst-case scenario once he went to the ancient city would be if the One-Tailed Shukaku is still guarding the place.
Kamishiro narrowed his eyes, "Why do you want to go there?"
Taro raised an eyebrow, confused as to why Kamishiro suddenly looked displeased, "I just want to learn sealing jutsu."
Although he wasn't telling the full story, he was still telling the truth.
There is an item in the anime that Taro has been coveting, but in this world, it still does not exist. He looked through the history books and asked around the clan if they had heard of it, but in the end it led nowhere.
The item or jutsu Taro has been looking for is an item many ninjas in the anime used: the Sealing Scrolls.
Sealing scrolls are one of the most crucial parts of Naruto, even if they are mostly background items that don't get much screen time. However, the impact they can have is enormous.
In the current era, the most used form of transportation for goods and supplies are carts pulled by horses, camels, or ninjas themselves. If the Hosai clan were to create sealing scrolls, not only would they not have to worry about carrying food during missions, they can cut the travel time during warning times.
Kamishiro asked, "Why do you want to learn sealing jutsu? Don't tell me—"
Before Kamishiro could finish, Taro cut him off and began to explain, "I've been trying to find a way to learn Sealing Jutsu, even before I met you." He paused and smiled, "You see, I've been thinking of a revolutionary way of transporting goods and supplies using nothing but sealing jutsu."
Kamishiro paused, a glint appearing in his eyes, "Well… That does sound interesting… Why hasn't anyone thought about it?"
Taro shrugged, "I don't know. But it's probably due to the fact that the Uzumaki clan has the majority of Sealing Jutsu, and it isn't as common outside of their clan. What's more, they are mostly isolationist, not really trading or communicating with anyone outside of their clan."
Taro has only theorized the idea of an isolationist Uzumaki clan, as they have never really been seen interacting with anyone outside of their clan and with their future ally, the Senju clan. He could only theorize that the information of other clans outside of the Land of Wind was vague in the Hosai clan, with some clan members not even knowing that the Uzumaki existed.
"Hmmm. But how would we seal them? There are different forms of sealing, and not many could be transported. Most sealing jutsus I know can only be sealed into a space like the body or my puppets," Kamishiro pondered.
Taro smiled and added, "What about sealing scrolls? It'll be easier that way. And plus, a scroll is lightweight."
As Kamishiro thought about it, his expression changed drastically. A glint flashed in his eyes, "Hmm. I can probably make it." He paused and looked at Taro, "I can teach it to you, but… What are you gonna do after it's made?"
Taro didn't hide the guild anymore and informed him, "The Hosai clan is making a Merchant Guild. We'll be controlling them and we're gonna need the scrolls to easily transport goods. That's why I've been trying to find a way to get my hands on some sealing jutsus."
"Hm." After thinking for a moment, Kamishiro made an offer, "I want a portion of sales from the sealing scrolls, if you're gonna sell them of course. And give my brother a portion of the sales of the guild."
Taro chuckled, "The Hebidoku clan is with us now, you won't have to worry. They'll get the money. As for the sealing scrolls being sold, sure, but I'm only giving you 5% of every sale."
Kamishiro frowned, "How much are you gonna sell them for?" He paused before sighing, "You know what, forget it. I'll accept the 5%."
Soon, the two made another contract about the sealing scrolls. After the contract was signed, Taro decided to let him stay in the Hosai clan while being watched by two skilled ninjas.
Although they were now business partners, Taro still couldn't trust someone he just met, especially when it could pose a danger to the clan.
However, after the elders and the clan members found out that a prisoner was kept alive in the Hosai clan, a prisoner that killed thirty ninjas of their clan, many clan members were angry and some elders even demanded him to be handed over.
But all of them were dealt with, after Taro threatened them by not giving them the food they needed. Starting after the meeting where Taro introduced the infinite food glitch to the elders, many of them have begun to understand just how important Taro is to the clan.
Although Taro has dealt with the elders quite quickly, he began to understand something he lacked: political power.
In the clan, he, a five-year-old, still had no sway around the clan. Many only listen to him because of his father and his usefulness to the clan. However, he knew he couldn't always use this excuse for power.
"Is this why Kise built up his power, by gaining the support of his generation?" Taro chuckled to himself.
Taro knew he had no political power yet, but he also knew that once everything stabilized after the war, he would be the one gaining the most. Not only would he get the support of the two previous clans that peacefully joined the Hosai clan, he would gain another support with the Hebidoku clan by using Kamishiro, whose brother is the current head of the Hebidoku.
What's more, after the guild is finished and running on its own, then he would have control over the finances of the entire clan, and the support of a major guild.
Taro also had begun planting seeds into the previous generation before him, the generation under his older brother, Kise. People like Jiren, Enka, and Toji would most likely give their support after what he had given them.
And some of the elders have also given Taro the influence he needs to be independent without the help of his brother and father.
"My next plan would be my generation…" Taro sighed and looked around the village where the kids his age were playing, "I guess I have no choice but to play and act like a kid…"
As Taro walked around the clan, he saw a familiar face sitting in front of a stall while reading something with a blush on his face.
Taro took a closer look and yelled, "Senile old man!"
