The next morning, Taro and the others gathered at the eastern wall, ready to start the counterattack. For this mission, eighty hand-picked ninjas were gathered, while the others stayed to guard the clan. The group of ninjas was led by Nao and Fuji, while Jiren and Toji stayed behind to guard the clan.
The army of ninjas took a whole day just to arrive at the eastern wall of the Hebidoku clan. The clan wasn't big, around the same size as the Hosai clan.
It was already night, and some of the ninjas were exhausted, forcing the attack to halt. The ninjas did not stay in one spot to camp; instead, they formed groups and surrounded the Hebidoku clan while setting up their camps. There were no campfires or tents—every Hosai clan member slept on the cold desert ground.
When the next morning arrived and the sun began to rise, all the ninjas readied themselves for the signal to attack. They waited and waited, then suddenly, a ball of fire rose into the sky, signaling the start of the battle.
Taro leaped on top of the wall and slashed the head of a watch guard who was still staring at the massive fireball.
Other Hebidoku clan members finally realized what was happening, and one of them blew a horn, signaling an enemy attack.
Taro went down the wall and began carving a way inside the clan, killing anyone in front of him. Then suddenly, a man kicked his ribs, causing him to be sent back, crashing onto the wall.
When Taro stood up, the man rushed toward him and pulled out a kunai. The kunai was coated with poison, making the fight far more dangerous. Taro dodged the strike and slashed upward, but his attack was quickly avoided.
The man created space and performed a jutsu, "Fire Release: Fireball Jutsu!"
A massive fireball engulfed Taro, killing him where he stood. The man searched for another victim—but suddenly, another Taro appeared behind him and took his head clean off.
Swish
A shuriken was thrown at Taro, who was still catching his breath. Taro dodged, but couldn't balance himself. The woman who threw the shuriken rushed toward him, eyes red with rage.
In a fit of rage, the woman drew her sword and swung it downward, cutting a few strands of Taro's hair as he quickly dodged. She didn't stop her enraged attacks; instead, her swings became faster and faster. As Taro continued to evade, a sudden blue thread pierced through his arms, causing them to go limp.
The hand that went limp was the same one holding his sword and defending against the woman's attacks. Seeing an opening, she moved her left fingers, causing Taro's right hand to shift out of the way. She pulled back her sword and swung downward, cutting deep into Taro's chest.
"Urgh!" Taro yelled out in pain.
The woman was about to finish him off, when suddenly, papers began falling down on top of her out of nowhere, then Taro yelled, "Katsu!"
Boom!
The woman was blown into pieces, and Taro was badly burnt. He quickly hid in one of the watchtowers and pulled three pieces of bread from his system inventory. Without hesitation, he gobbled the bread and he began to heal. What's more, from the Zenkai Boost, he could feel that his power was growing.
With a sigh, Taro went outside to fight some more.
Hours later, the Hosai clan had fully captured the eastern side of the Hebidoku clan, while the rear was controlled by Kise.
Fuji commanded everyone to catch all the prisoners and continue the advancement toward the main clan grounds. From some of the captured Hebidoku clansmen, Fuji found out that most of the ninjas are now fighting in the front line where Mashiro is, and the entire clan is now defenseless, with only a few ninjas left.
When the Hosai clansmen made their way to the main clan grounds of the Hebidoku clan, they found that there were only three elders who were non-combatants and over twenty ninjas. The ninjas and elders were quick to surrender.
Taro walked around the Hebidoku clan and saw that all civilians were trembling in fear, and the ninjas were slumped, defeat in their eyes.
"Kya!! Get off me!"
Taro turned around and saw a young girl being forced down by a Hosai clansman.
"Shut the hell up, you bitch!" the man said.
Taro ran toward the commotion, but he was beaten by his brother Nao, who had arrived first. Nao kicked the man from the side and yelled, "The fuck are you doing?!"
The Hosai clansman was about to retort when he saw who it was, "W-What's wrong—"
Before he could finish, Nao yelled, "You not only represent my father, but the Hosai clan itself! Don't tarnish our image with your vulgar lust!"
Two ninjas from Hosai moved quickly and pushed the man on the ground. Nao scoffed and ordered, "Kill him. And kill anyone who tries to do anything to people who can't fight!"
Many Hosai clansmen tried to rape, pillage, or kill unarmed Hebidoku clan members, but thanks to Nao's order and prestige, all of them were killed on the spot. His actions were not questioned, as Mashiro himself had a similar ideology with Nao.
Soon as everything got under control, a meeting was finally held.
From the Hosai side, Fuji and Nao sat beside each other, while dozens of ninjas were behind them as a sign of power. While in the Hebidoku clan, only one elder sat down with ten ninjas behind him.
The two other elders from Hebidoku tried to flee but were quickly dealt with.
Elder Kamon, the Hebidoku elder, sighed and said, "I really can't make a decision on my own. I would need the other elders and the clan patriarch himself to be here before we could negotiate."
Fuji scoffed, "You're the only one left. Ketsu has been taken prisoner and your clan patriarch alongside your elders were killed in battle last night."
Last night, a bird flew toward Fuji, carrying news of the deaths of the Hebidoku clan elders and their patriarch.
Elder Kamon felt dejected, "Is that so?" He sighed and continued, "Then please, let me bring our clan patriarch's elder son in this meeting."
Fuji raised an eyebrow, "Ketsu?"
Kamon shook his head and the Hebidoku ninjas felt disgusted at the mention of the eldest son, "No, Ketsu isn't the oldest son."
Fuji nodded, "Then bring him here."
Minutes later, the doors opened, and a man with a buzz cut entered the room. He had a perpetually sleepy face, and his entire demeanor suggested he wasn't bothered by the fall of his clan.
Seeing the state of the man who entered, all Hebidoku clansmen turned red in rage. But the man didn't care.
He sat down and asked, "Well, what do you want?"
