Chapter 33 - Do Drugs For Me

Taro opened his system window and began bringing out his past rewards from the system: AC, solar panel, and the Blueprint.

Taro placed the Blueprint under the solar panel, then a bright blue light came out of it, and suddenly, a scroll appeared in his inventory.

[Inventory:

Blueprint: Solar Panel.]

He smirked and continued with the AC, but then suddenly, he remembered something, "Well, I can't really use these. I need the battery to store the energy from the AC…"

Taro wasn't a scientist, he knew nothing about battery making.

"Should I just hire some scientist and make them invent a battery?" He paused and remembered something, "If I remember correctly, the technology in Naruto was surprisingly advanced…"

He sighed and moved everything back in his inventory but the Blueprint. Then he pulled out the syringes from Stat Shots and placed them on top of the Blueprint. But to his disappointment, the ingredients weren't from this world.

"I guess you can't have everything."

As he continued with his experiment, he sensed chakra coming his way. He quickly hid everything and went outside and met a female ninja.

She greeted and informed Taro, "These are the scrolls Elder Shazo sent."

Once the delivery was complete, the woman vanished, leaving Taro alone once more.

He brought all the scrolls inside and transported them into Minecraft. Since the creation of the XP farm, Taro has been experimenting with the enchantment table, and the enchantment table gave more than enchantments themselves.

Once it's given something from the ninja world, the "enchantments" differ significantly. But that wasn't all. From the papers in the ninja world, the enchantments only gave explosion, meaning it can only create paper bombs.

Theorizing using the paper bombs as an example, Taro believed that the scrolls could give more than just bombs, but perhaps jutsu itself.

Once Taro was in the Minecraft world, he made his way to the XP farm, and farmed till he reached level 60.

"I can never get used to this boredom," sighed Taro.

When level and lapis were gathered, he placed a single scroll on top of the enchantment table.

[Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique (C-Rank) (3 Lapis and 10 Levels)

Fire Release: Dragon Flame Release Song Technique (A-Rank) (10 Lapis and 50 Levels)

Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld (A-Rank) (15 Lapis and 55 Levels)]

Taro's eyes widened, "Holy shit! My theory was right…"

With his theory being right, Taro went back to gather more levels and collected thirty new ninjutsus for the clan.

Although the first ninjutsu from his first pull was good, the rest weren't something to gawk at. At the end, he gathered four A-rank ninjutsu, ten B-rank, and sixteen C-rank.

"No S-rank, but that's fine. These jutsus should be of help to the clan. And besides, I'd rather not sit on that automatic farm doing jack shit all day."

When Taro was in the farm, he also collected the blue card reward from the system. The information of the Eight Inner Gates quickly flooded his mind. He wrote down everything he knew and planned on giving it to Toji, as a gift and as a trump card for when he and the guild are in danger.

When Taro returned back to the ninja world, he sensed that someone was already waiting outside of the cave entrance.

Stepping outside, he was met with Toji's bruised face.

Taro raised an eyebrow and asked, "What happened to you?"

Toji gave a tired smirk, "It was just a light spar with my grandfather."

Taro didn't believe him but went straight to the point, "Let's head inside. I want to discuss the merchant guild."

Toji straightened up and nodded.

Inside the cave, Taro asked, "Can you handle it? The burden of the entire clan's finances, and the future of the merchant guild?"

Toji answered with a serious face, "My grandpa has been teaching me finance since young… As for the future of the merchant guild…"

Taro cut him off, "To be frank with you, Toji, you aren't strong enough. There are monsters out there, monsters that could kill you in seconds. I need someone strong, someone who can protect the merchant as its leader."

Toji held a laugh as he thought, "You're just a baby… Why are you talking like you've seen those monsters."

Although he found what Taro said funny, he knew it was the truth.

Taro took Toji's silence as an opportunity and placed a syringe on the table, the same syringe he showed in the meeting, the Stat Shots. Alongside the syringe, Taro placed the newly written Eight Inner Gates manual.

"These will help you grow stronger, much stronger. The syringe will grant you a boost in power, permanently. And the scroll is a technique I developed for a Taijutsu specialist." He paused and let the words sink in, "I need you to be strong for this mission. So I suggest you take that shot."

Toji hesitated, but Taro quickly confirmed the safety of the liquid inside, "That isn't meant to harm you. Only the Eight Inner Gates maybe, but not the liquid inside that syringe. I've already taken one for myself, and I'm perfectly fine."

Hearing that Taro experimented on himself, Toji trusted his words and picked up the syringe.

As Toji took the shot, Taro smiled and opened the system. He immediately used four Buff Me Up cards on Toji, further improving his stats and potential.

[Name:

Taro's face gleamed, "He's already reached Elite Jonin, I have a feeling he'll surpass Kise in just a few months… His base stats are stronger than Kise, but chakra and speed."

Toji's eyes widened as he looked at his arms, "W-What is this power…"

Taro clapped his hands, "Congratulations, you're now at the same level as Kise."

"W-What?" Toji was lost for words, but quickly gained his composure. He stood up straight and bowed, "Thank you!"

Taro chuckled, "Enough. You need to train with the Eight Inner Gates and master at least one gate before you depart for your mission."

Toji nodded and gave his thanks once again, then made his way out.

As Taro watched the disappearing back of Toji, Taro asked the system, "Can you spill it? Why did his stats grow more than mine?"

The system gave a straight answer without any Jamaican accent, thankfully.

[That specific card isn't meant to change your biology, it's only used to improve your potential and base stats. You're five years old, and are nearing the limit of what your body can do. Further improvement, whether from cards or training, will be harder than those who are already adults.]

Taro nodded, then veins popped up on his forehead, "You bastard! You made me waste golden cards! Why didn't you tell me sooner?!"

The system somehow clicked its tongue, [Tsk.]
