Chapter 121 - [121] Moira's Doomed Gift

"My God, the World Government has its eye on the Revolutionary Army, and it's that same Celestial Dragon villain who destroyed Ohara, Saint Ross."

Inside the safe house, Ginny cried out in surprise.

Even though the other side couldn't hear her when she was eavesdropping, she only dared to make a sound after Ross and Marius hung up their Den Den Mushi.

"This is a huge problem. I have to tell Dragon." Ivankov said gravely, picking up the Den Den Mushi to make a call.

"Wait."

Kuma stopped Ivankov, "We have companions in their hands, shouldn't we go and rescue them?"

"It will be very difficult to save them."

Ivankov hesitated. He didn't want to abandon his comrade, especially since it was Captain Moira, who had followed Dragon since the early days of the Revolutionary Army.

Not only was she a veteran of the Revolutionary Army, but she also enjoyed great popularity within the army due to her outstanding appearance and physique.

Moreover, Moira had always liked Dragon, but because Dragon got together with another comrade, she declared that she would never love anyone else in her life, which made her even more popular in the Revolutionary Army.

Imagine what would happen if someone like that were captured by the World Government and sent to Ross as a gift.

He simply couldn't accept this.

"I'll contact Dragon right now; he's the only one who can go to the rescue."

Ivankov took a deep breath and dialed Dragon's number.

"This is Dragon."

"Chief, Captain Moira has been captured, and we've been monitoring her..."

Ginny couldn't contain herself and, poured her heart out, told Dragon everything she had overheard.

After a moment of silence, Dragon asked:

"Do you know the route they took to transport Moira?"

"I heard they'll use CP0 escorts to get her directly through the Calm Belt to Saint Ross."

Ginny understood as she spoke, and lowered her head in frustration.

"What's wrong?" Kuma asked, puzzled.

"We can't rescue Moira," Dragon sighed.

"Why? She's our companion!" Kuma felt terrible.

Kuma could understand sacrificing oneself for a great cause, but he could not understand why, given the circumstances, they didn't go to rescue their companions.

"Kuma, we don't know the escort ship's route. The World Government has the most perfect Eternal Pointer and the ability to sail through the Calm Belt; they can easily go to any island in the world."

Ginny's voice was tinged with frustration, "Unless we infiltrate the escort ship, there's no chance we'll have a chance."

"Can't we sneak in?" Kuma asked, frowning.

"You won't make it."

Dragon explained in a deep voice, "If you are escorted by CP0, they will definitely use Observation Haki. You will have nowhere to hide on the ship unless you are also part of the gift."

"But if we are escorted as a gift, there will be no way to contact the leader, nor will we be able to let the leader know our location." Ginny shrugged.

The more they talked, the more frustrated they became, unable to find a way to rescue their companion.

This feeling of powerlessness really made them feel terrible.

"Yes, is giving up the only option...?"

Ivankov felt terrible, not because of the helplessness of not being able to rescue his comrades, but because Dragon clearly had a way.

The Revolutionary Army doesn't have many members, so Dragon possesses a Vivre Card for each one. The Vivre Cards can not only determine a person's vital state but also perform simple tracking.

If Dragon wants to go to the rescue, he can definitely find a transport ship.

However, he also understood Dragon's actions.

The current Revolutionary Army cannot withstand further turmoil. If it were merely a private action by Marius, the Revolutionary Army could still accept it for the time being.

But if it's about plundering World Government ships, that's a completely different matter.

Based on the information they just gave to Dragon, Marius probably won't do anything unnecessary, but Ross will definitely use it as an excuse to make trouble.

By then, the Revolutionary Army will face the main force of the World Government in a decisive battle.

From a rational perspective, giving up on Moira is the best choice. But how can I possibly stay rational when my companion has been captured...?

Wait until Dragon hangs up the phone.

Ivankov slammed his fist into the ground so hard that it created a small crater.

But that's all.

They couldn't possibly go and rescue Moira themselves; that wouldn't be a rescue, it would be suicide.

...

Drum Island.

"Do you need us to send someone to receive your gift? That Dragon is quite powerful, isn't he?"

After Ross hung up the phone, Gion came over to ask him something.

From the moment the Revolutionary Army appeared, Ross seemed to harbor strong hostility towards Dragon and the Revolutionary Army.

This hostility is intense, the kind of malice that's relentless and unforgiving, even stronger than when it was directed at Vegapunk.

Gion didn't understand why the Revolutionary Army was worth Ross's attention, but since Ross was hostile, she was willing to lend a hand.

"No need, Dragon won't go to the rescue," Ross said, shaking his head.

He knew Gion's plan: to besiege the stronghold and attack reinforcements, using this opportunity to eliminate Dragon.

Unfortunately, this trick is ineffective against turtles that hide in their shells.

"Huh? The Revolutionary Army only has five captains in total, and now one of them has been captured. She's the beauty who openly expressed her liking for him. Would Dragon be so cold-blooded?" Gion was puzzled.

Surely not. She had a million ways to rescue ordinary CP0 crew members and ships. How could he not be able to save her?

"Ha, you still don't understand Dragon. He's a very contradictory person."

Ross chuckled, leaned back on the sofa, and slowly explained:

"Dragon is Garp's son, and he grew up listening to the legends of Garp and the Marines. As a second-generation Marine member, he can be said to know more about the World Government and the Marines than others."

"I've heard that. It seems he knew too much about the Marines and the World Government, and found them too dark, which is why he left and created the Revolutionary Army." Gion nodded slightly.

If she were Dragon, she might make a similar choice.

After all, while the evil of the World Government may not be as great as that of the pirates, it is still somewhat suffocating.

Fortunately, Ross was only lustful; in other respects, he was far better than those Celestial Dragons.

If the world were ruled by Ross, everything would be better except for some beautiful women who would suffer.

Even beautiful women may not necessarily suffer.

Gion could see clearly that Ross was an extremely possessive man.

If the world were ruled by Ross, beautiful women would likely become his private resources, unlike now where beauty is not only not an advantage, but could very well become a reason for villains to bully you.

"As you said, Dragon fled because of the evil of the World Government, so he wants to overthrow the World Government. But because he knows the power of the World Government, he doesn't dare to have a conflict with the World Government until he has accumulated enough confidence."

Ross chuckled softly, and with one sentence, he captured Dragon's mindset:

"Although he has a rebellious heart, he only dares to hope to cultivate a group of people who dare to rebel against the World Government, rather than confronting the World Government head-on himself."
