Chapter 38 - [38] Urgent Pursuit in South Blue

Bru…Bru…!

As Ross and Zane were chatting, the Den Den Mushi on the table rang.

This was the Den Den Mushi that Ross used to communicate with CP0. It had previously been managed by Gion, but it had only been returned to Zane yesterday.

"Take it first."

Ross gave her a dismissive look, and Zane then walked over to the Den Den Mushi and answered it.

"This is Zane, the CP0 officer in charge of Saint Ross!"

"Lady Zane, the woman Saint Ross is looking for has been found on Baterilla Island. She is currently pregnant. Should we bring her back to the Holy Land?" A respectful voice came through the Den Den Mushi.

"Found her? And she's still alive?"

A hint of joy appeared on Ross's face as he walked directly to the Den Den Mushi.

"I am Saint Ross. I will proceed to your island immediately. From this moment on, gather the best physicians in the vicinity to ensure that the woman's health remains stable. Also, do not disclose any information about the World Government or myself."

"Understood!"

Upon hearing Ross's voice, the Den Den Mushi visibly panicked, but quickly regained its composure with respect.

"Very good."

After hanging up the Den Den Mushi, Ross turned toward the door:

"Stella, notify Sakazuki to have the warships move at full speed. Even if you have to have people push them from behind, get to the Holy Land as soon as possible."

"Yes!"

Stella heard Ross's instructions and hurriedly ran out of the cabin.

Ross wouldn't have been this anxious before. The fact that Ross was in such a hurry meant it must be something important that couldn't be delayed.

"Zane, it normally takes 3 days for a warship to sail from the Holy Land to Baterilla Island."

While Ross was speaking, Zane had already taken out the nautical chart and spread it on the table.

The World Government possessed the most complete sea charts, and Ross, as a Celestial Dragon, naturally had access to the most complete set.

The distances on the nautical charts were all based on actual measurements, with very small errors.

Baterilla Island was located in South Blue. The fastest way to get there from the West Blue was to cross the Red Line and use the artificial sea route in the Holy Land.

"Three days...that's a bit long."

Ross shook his head; he was now racing against time.

He originally thought that if he found that woman, she would also be a corpse and could not possibly still be alive.

But unexpectedly, perhaps influenced by his sending people to South Blue to look for her again, the woman actually persisted for 22 months.

That woman could collapse at any moment. With his current methods, the only way to save her without exposing him to the World Government was through Stella's Heal-Heal Fruit.

This was a race against time. If it dragged on for even a day, that woman could die, and it might even result in the death of both her and her unborn child.

But if he could save both the young and the old, he would definitely gain a loyal S-class expert in the future.

Even if someone was raised without proper training, they could still reach the level of a Shichibukai at the age of 20. Considering his bloodline, that was considered a waste of talent.

If he were to train them and prepare Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits in advance, they would definitely be able to wring Blackbeard's head off in 20 years.

This time, Ross was going to try doing what Whitebeard loved to do.

"Notify the Holy Land to prepare 20 strong, swimming slaves, without Devil Fruit abilities. At the same time, mobilize all Devil Fruit users in the World Government who possess the ability to fly," Ross said calmly.

"Yes!"

Zane knew exactly what Ross was going to do, and immediately began contacting the Holy Land.

Boom!

Suddenly, the ship shook violently.

Immediately, a tremendous thrust came from the stern of the ship, and the entire warship began to tilt slightly.

From the outside, one could see that the warship had lowered its sails and was speeding forward at an incredible speed. Because of the speed, the entire ship was almost floating above the sea, with only the stern still in the water.

At the stern, Zephyr was shirtless, supporting the warship with both hands, his legs kicking at lightning speed.

With each push of his legs, the warship's speed increased several points.

The warship accelerated, causing Robin to tumble off her perch.

Fortunately, Ross was right next to her and grabbed her by the collar, otherwise she would have crashed into the hatch.

"What happened?"

Robin felt the world spinning; she was still a little dazed.

"The warships have accelerated and will reach the Holy Land at top speed."

As Ross spoke, he picked up Robin and walked out of the ship's cabin.

Even though the ship was tilted at almost a 45-degree angle, it was as easy for him to walk as on flat ground; that was the benefit of strength.

"Huhh?"

Looking at the tilted ship, Robin's eyes were filled with confusion.

She could hardly imagine how a warship could be made to go that fast.

Especially when Robin stepped out of the cabin and saw the huge wave left at the stern due to Zephyr's powerful kicks, she couldn't help but open her mouth wide.

"Saint Ross, is that a person?"

Robin's finger trembled as she pointed at Zephyr, unable to believe that they were being pushed along.

"Zephyr was once a Marine Admiral, and he was even stronger than Sakazuki."

Ross explained casually, then walked step by step toward the stern of the ship.

What he said wasn't entirely untrue; Zephyr was proficient in physical techniques and Armament Haki, making him relatively effective against Logia-type powerhouses.

At the same level, Sakazuki was indeed slightly inferior to Zephyr.

However, Sakazuki was still on the rise, while Zephyr had already reached his peak, and the gap between the two would gradually become apparent in the future.

"Zephyr, thank you for your hard work. Time is of the essence; I need to save a great woman."

Ross walked to the stern and offered to explain to Zephyr.

He could have chosen not to explain, but since Zephyr had pushed the boat without hesitation, he felt it was necessary to say something.

"Since it's to save people, then I have even less of a problem with it."

While Zephyr was pushing the boat with all his might, he still had time to respond to Ross.

Pushing the boat was purely physical labor, so it didn't actually take much effort for Zephyr.

If he controlled his strength well, he could push for three days and three nights.

"At our previous pace, it will take us another three days to reach the Holy Land. Zephyr, estimate your own physical condition. Once we arrive at the Holy Land, others will take care of the rest of the journey, so you can just rest well," Ross said after thinking for a moment.

The stamina of an admiral was on a completely different level from that of other ranks. At his current stamina, he could push the boat to the bottom in an hour at this speed.

But if it was Zephyr, then it was a bit hard to predict.

Perhaps this speed was nothing more than child's play for him.

"I see!"

After hearing this, Zephyr's legs moved even faster, and Ross could clearly feel that the speed had increased by at least 30%.

Their current speed was at least four times faster than initially.

At this pace, it would take less than a day to reach the Holy Land.

They would then change boats at the Holy Land and continue their journey, estimated to reach Baterilla Island within two days.

This speed was already the limit that could be achieved at present.

Hopefully, this speed would allow them to rescue her in time.
