"A Reconciliation Banquet," Li read aloud, his voice dripping with skepticism. "Hosted by Madam Jen and the Vance Family. To apologize for past grievances and celebrate the union of the Dragon Lord."
Beside him, Elara Vance smoothed the skirt of her red Phoenix Fire Gown. She sat rigid, staring straight ahead.
Elara tapped her fingers on her knee. Trap. Trap. Trap.
"I know," Li said, placing his large hand over hers to stop the tapping. "It is a Hongmen Banquet. A feast meant for murder."
"Then why are we going?"
