Arlene's POV
Mr. Warner stepped in before any of us had the chance to clarify the situation for Warner.
I had to admit, his version sounded more compelling. The additional details he shared about the Harley were fascinating. Apparently, they were masters of deception, skilled at remaining invisible. He mentioned that tracking them all down had been no easy task, and while their ability to evade capture frustrated him, he couldn't say he was entirely shocked by it.
The revelation that I shared blood with the man who had destroyed his family left me reeling, yet somehow he hadn't decided I deserved the same fate as the others. The werewolf community was smaller than I'd imagined.
"Organizing a manhunt seems extreme. I want to hear what she has to tell us," Warner declared. "Need I remind you that Wina is Arlene's only surviving family member?"
