Eve chuckles, looking at her son in shock.
"Here I thought I was going to persuade you more," she raises her eyebrows. "Come on, I still had my blackmail card ready to use."
A small smile breaks out on Travis's lips. "No need for that, I got the message. You can use it next time, promise."
Eve looks at her son a little longer before she smiles brightly. "Wonderful, I will tell your grandmother then. She is a pain when she is determined. I don't want her breathing down my neck again, preferably for the next few years. What a way to start getting grey hair!"
The rest of the tea is spent on small chit chat until Eve starts asking Liam about home, how his last visit was, and how his mother is faring. That's when Travis realizes that Liam is hiding something.
Or, to be precise, someone.
"Travis is getting pressured to have a mate, and I know that your father must be doing so?" Eve asks as she eats her salad. Tea was extended to late lunch.
