Jace had just arrived at the company when he found Karyle's ex,Luka, making a scene at the company and as soon as Luka saw him he rushed up to him and started demanding he be let in to talk to Karyle. At that time Jace had not known of their break up but could guess something had gone down between them since he wasn't even allowed entry into the company like before and to play it safe just focused on calming the omega down and ended up earning a black eye in the process as Luka punched him. Lucky for him he ended up leaving after seeing his tantrum wasn't working. Jace cursed in annoyance and headed to the elevator. He pressed an ice pack at his bruised eye as he sat at his desk letting out a groan in pain. Norman , Karyle's senior PA walked over and in his usual authoritative tone told him that he will be accompanying Karyle in his business trip next week and should therefore prepare. He then left after giving a few more instructions and sincerely apologising for the commotion earlier and handed him a soda can.
Jace watched him walk away thoughtfully. They were both behaving out of the norm. Usually it's was all work among them even after working close to two years with them but lately something was different. He couldn't put a finger on what it exactly was but he felt as if maybe they had started trusting and accepting him a bit. He never went alone with Karyle on an important business trips such as the one they were going to just simple stuff let alone Karyle just dropping by his home on a whim and drinking with him but who knows I might be overthinking it. All in all he was not going to mess it up.
Jace let out a sigh of relief as they walked out the conference room. It had been a week since they came to T country for the business trip where they'd be staying for a fortnight. They had been busy throughout since Karyle had spent those days working late at the branch office in the city going through its operations ensuring everything was fine while also preparing along with the team from the branch office for the upcoming meeting with PC investments ,an established investment company in the country in which ensuring a deal with them would ensure smooth operations in their upcoming projects in T country and also due to their strong foothold in country,marketing in the domestic market would be much smoother than ever. Thankfully the meeting had gone well and they had signed the contract. He smiled at the investors and shook hands . They praised Karyle as the exchanged small talk as they planned to hit the bar in celebration of the successful cooperation. As he walked at the back he got a message from Caesar, his friend,saying they were in the city and invited him out to play along with the rest of the crew tomorrow. He replied he'd be available as Karyle had mentioned he'd be meeting with a friend and he could do whatever he wanted tomorrow.
He ended up drinking a lot as he entertained the investors . At some point fearing Karyle would get wasted as the investors just kept on pushing more and more strong drinks to him, he started taking his shots and diverting their attention to other subjects and games and thus ended up drunk despite his high tolerance. Karyle helped Jace into the car and sat beside him as the driver drove to the hotel.
Karyle helped him onto the bed then removed his shoes as he then proceeded to loosen Jace's tie and top buttons of his shirt as Jace had already fallen asleep. The room was quickly filling with Jace's pheromones a sign he had taken note of happens when Jace gets drunk maybe because he lowers his guard or just that he can't control it as a he had noticed the last time he drank with him at his house . He straightened up as he looked down at Jace noting his appearance flushed face and everything and couldn't help but find him cute. He turned to leave but Jace suddenly held onto his wrist. Karyle turned to look at him a bit surprised but then smiled as he removed Jace's hand and placed it back beside Jace. He then pinched his cheek and said in a gentle tone," Aren't you just cute." He then left the room and went into his own room.
