Alice's POV
I stared at Catherine standing in the hidden room holding another detonator, my brain refusing to accept that we'd stopped one bomb just to face another one.
"Mom, what are you doing?" Bryan asked, his voice barely above a whisper as he took a step toward her.
"Finishing what I started," Catherine said, but something was off about her voice, it was too calm, too controlled for someone about to blow up a building with herself inside it.
"There is no second bomb," a new voice said from behind Catherine, and a man in a dark suit stepped out of the shadows. He held up an FBI badge that glinted in the dim light. "Mrs. Hale has been working with us for the past three months."
"What?" Bryan and I said at the same time.
