Alice's POV
I stared at the detective, at the gun in her hand, and my brain refused to accept what she'd just said about being Marcus Chen's daughter.
"You're lying," Bryan said, his voice hard. "Detective Morrison has been with the department for years, we checked her background."
"Of course you did," she said, smiling wider now. "And you found exactly what I wanted you to find because my father's very good at creating false identities. My real name is Michelle Chen and I've been planted in the police department since I graduated from the academy, waiting for the perfect moment to destroy your family."
"Where's my father?" Bryan demanded, taking a step forward. She raised the gun higher and he stopped.
"Inside," Michelle said, gesturing with the gun toward the dark building behind her. "Along with Antonio, Victoria, Andrew, and a few other surprises. Come on, they're all waiting for you."
