Chapter 181 - [181] Crafting a Wand Beyond Limits

Vizette said with certainty, "Blackthorn Wand, ten inches long, the core should be unicorn tail hair."

Taming a blackthorn wand is not so simple. Wizards who wield this type of wand often need to go through danger or difficulties to truly gain the wand's approval.

That is why it is difficult to find a suitable wizard for such a wand.

"Very accurate." Ollivander seemed pleased. "I can tell you studied the notes carefully to be able to deduce the wand's core based solely on its weight."

He walked to the workbench, picked up one of the dragon skins, inside which was a dragon heartstring.

"Speaking of which... this is the dragon heartstring you gave me. It's of exceptional quality. Did you select it using the Eye of Magic?"

Vizette nodded. "Yes, it feels about the same quality as described in the notes, so I brought it back."

Ollivander chuckled and said, "Sweden is rich in short-nosed dragons; wands made from their heartstrings can unleash powerful fire magic..."

"I almost forgot about the important matter!" He slapped his forehead. "Come on! Stand in this position and aim at that platform to cast your spell. Go ahead and attack; this platform is quite sturdy."

Vizette added, still a little worried, "Mr. Ollivander, please make sure you close your eyes when I chant the spell... it's quite bright."

"Okay." Ollivander nodded. "You can begin now. Go ahead and attack, it'll be fine!"

Following the same method as before, Vizette straightened out the magical circuits within the Blackthorn Wand, ensuring there was no barrier between him and the wand before reciting the spell.

"Ansuz!"

Having learned from that hemispherical crater, Vizette only activated the Obscurus, allowing it to pump out ancient magical power.

After a period of preparation, the studio was suddenly shrouded in shadow, and even the golden shelves and cabinets seemed to lose their luster.

A dazzling bolt of lightning appeared out of nowhere and crashed down in an instant, bursting into a dazzling ball of lightning on the small circular platform, enveloping the entire workshop in white light.

Perhaps sensing the powerful magic, the pure gold shelves and cabinets were enveloped in a silvery-white magical energy field to protect the wand materials stored inside.

Even though Ollivander had closed his eyes, he could still feel the power of the magic through his eyelids.

As the white light dissipated, he quickly opened his eyes and looked at the small circular platform.

The small circular platform turned incredibly red, like a branding iron just taken out of the furnace.

However, this power was actually within his expectations; it shouldn't have damaged the wand.

Considering Vizette's current age, it was extremely rare for him to be able to unleash such magic.

In Ollivander's memory, there didn't seem to be a wizard at this age who could make the shelves alert and release a protective magical energy field by casting spells.

Even if we broaden the age range to include wizards who were about to graduate, perhaps only a handful of people, such as Dumbledore, could have accomplished something similar.

He noticed that Vizette's wand was still intact. "Vizette, are you holding back something?"

"I do have some power that I haven't used yet," Vizette nodded.

After this spellcasting, he confirmed one thing: only using the ancient magical power of the Obscurus would not damage the wand.

This is good news.

Ollivander said, "Vizette, then let's not hold back. I want to experience that magic for myself."

Vizette looked around and noticed the dissipating magical energy field. "Mr. Ollivander, could we go somewhere else? I'm worried that the wand materials might be...affected."

"A very thoughtful idea." Ollivander smiled with satisfaction. "I remember a place that few Muggles go to, which would be perfect for testing magic."

...

Guided by Ollivander, Vizette experienced yet another form of wizarding travel—Apparition.

According to the normal procedure, it would take a long time to gain access to Apparition.

Therefore, he performed "Apparition" by firmly grasping the hand of the Apparition wizard and following him to the destination.

The experience of being the follower in an Apparition was not pleasant; Vizette felt as if his body was being squeezed from all sides, even as if he were being squeezed into a ball.

They appeared in a forest, and he could see the backs of small animals fleeing in fright.

"There's a Muggle-repelling charm around, so no one will come here," Ollivander explained. "Vizette, you can begin."

Vizette nodded and gripped his wand tightly.

The Blackthorn Wood Wand is indeed unique; it seems to know its impending fate, as the wand itself actually conveys a hint of excitement.

It's like a warrior who loves to challenge limits, forging ahead without flinching even when facing imminent destruction.

Responding to the Blackthorn Wood Wand, Vizette took a deep breath and released two ancient magical powers simultaneously.

"Ansuz!"

The massive plasma snake crashed to the ground, and the entire forest seemed to tremble as a result.

Countless birds took flight in fright, their panicked cries rising and falling, merging into a shrill, chaotic cacophony.

Just like in yesterday's "Thunder", a hemispherical crater appeared in front of Vizette, constantly emitting black smoke.

Even the blackthorn wood couldn't escape the fate of being damaged, and the unicorn tail hair that served as the core of the wand was completely reduced to ashes.

Ollivander stood at the edge of the pit, seemingly sensing something.

"Incredible power…" he said slowly. "Vizette, you can replace your wand with a new one at any time, but that won't solve the problem at its root."

"The solution to the problem at its root is also simple: you need to find materials that can bear this power and make a unique wand."

Upon hearing Ollivander's words, Vizette immediately understood, "Then I need to start learning how to make wands."

"Yes! What a pleasant surprise." Ollivander nodded, his eyebrows raised, his eyes sparkling with delight, and a smile playing on his lips.

"You possess the Eye of Magic… This is an extremely significant advantage; any problems encountered in crafting a wand can be avoided through the Eye of Magic."

"Actually, I can tell that you have a very solid foundation. Getting started with wand making shouldn't be too difficult for you. What do you think?"

Vizette calculated the time; there were still more than half a month until the start of school, which gave him plenty of time.

Seeing Ollivander's expectant gaze, he nodded in agreement and said, "Mr. Ollivander, when shall we begin?"

"Good boy!" Ollivander smiled happily. "You can start anytime you have time."

"Then I'll go back and tell Luna and the others, and then I'll come and bother you."

"How could it be a bother? You can treat it like your own home and come whenever you want!"
