Chapter 162 - [163] Luna's Mother, Scholar of Forbidden Ancient Magic?

The three murals—a human figure, a corpse, a spear, and a halo—combine to resemble a record of a cruel sacrificial ritual…

Countless people gathered under the towering tree. They experienced an incredibly bloody battle, but in the end, there were no victors. They turned into halos of light.

So what does the halo represent?

And who is that wizard riding a fine horse?

Is he the mastermind behind this sacrifice, or does he have another identity?

Just as Vizette was lost in thought, Xenophilius suddenly cried out "Ouch!" as if he had tripped over something.

Vizette quickly looked in the direction of the sound and discovered that several new craters had appeared on the ground.

These craters intertwined to form a spiraling cyclone pattern.

This pattern represented ancient magic.

This could be verified in both Hogwarts: A History and on Ollivander's wand boxes.

Luna seemed to have just come to her senses as well, and quickly ran to Xenophilius to help him up, asking, "Dad, are you alright?"

"Sweetheart, Daddy's alright!" Xenophilius waved his hand. "What's going on here? Why are there so many craters?"

"Mr. Ominis, when you brought people here before, did this place suddenly become like this?"

"A crater?" Ominis waved his wand, asking calmly, "I find this a bit hard to understand. Could you describe it to me?"

"It's a cyclone-like pattern," Luna said. "I feel like I've seen it before…that's right! My mother drew this for me."

"Yes!" Xenophilius exclaimed in realization. "Pandora has indeed drawn it before! I've seen it several times! There's no mistake!"

Ominis's expression changed, and he asked in surprise, "You all recognize this pattern?"

Xenophilius nodded. "My wife is a historian, and she has researched a great deal of ancient magic and spells."

"This pattern is one of the patterns she studied most often, along with other related materials."

Ominis's expression turned extremely strange, and he tentatively asked, "Excuse me... is your wife capable of using those spells and incantations?"

Xenophilius shook his head. "No, those spells and talismans... can't be used."

"Could I meet Mrs. Lovegood?" Ominis asked. "I would like to speak with her in person…because I am quite interested in this history."

Xenophilius glanced at Luna, then lowered his voice and leaned closer to Ominis, saying, "My wife... she's passed away..."

"She was experimenting with a related talisman at the time, but unexpectedly it caused a terrible accident, so..."

As he spoke, Xenophilius let out a long sigh, his expression becoming much more somber.

Ominis quickly said, "I'm sorry to have brought up something that upset you."

...

After visiting the ruins of Odin, the group planned to return home, rest at the Hotel Federot, and then go to see the circus performance.

Walking along the forest path, Ominis seemed very interested in magic and spells.

He and Xenophilius walked ahead, asking several related questions in succession.

Vizette approached Luna and asked, "Did you see any unusual light in those ruins?"

Luna's mother knew about the ancient magic symbols, and recalling what Luna had said before, Vizette had a feeling that Luna also had some understanding of ancient magic.

"A different kind of light?" Luna looked at Vizette, thought about the question very seriously, and then shook her head and said, "I don't see any different kind of light."

"I just felt that the ruins were very peaceful... like the Moon-obsessed beast dancing to the moon. Odin must have had a very happy time there."

Hearing Luna's words, Vizette nodded slightly.

The fact that she didn't see any unusual light suggested that Luna may not possess Magia Revelio and therefore could not directly observe ancient magic.

However, Luna possessed an extraordinary sensitivity, always able to perceive the unique charm of everything. Perhaps this was another kind of magical talent, similar to... the Magical Core?

Regardless, Vizette had a feeling that Luna was intricately connected to ancient magic.

Just like the Protego he had acquired, he wouldn't have been able to cast it successfully without Luna's inspiration.

And the events at the end of last school year, after Voldemort entered the Labyrinth of Souls, Voldemort had been successfully destroyed with the help of Luna's Christmas gift.

Vizette vaguely sensed that he was caught in a large web, entangled by countless threads, and that perhaps some different challenges awaited him in the future.

However, the Guardian's identity was too special, and apart from Headmaster Dumbledore, he could hardly find anyone else to confide in about the secrets of ancient magic.

"Vizette, there are a lot of Wrackspurts around you." Luna fanned him, her voice tinged with concern.

"Is there something you don't understand? You can tell me anything, and I promise I'll keep it a secret!"

Seeing Luna's determined look, Vizette pouted, feeling an urge to reveal the secret of ancient magic.

However, he also understood that if Luna had nothing to do with ancient magic, revealing this secret might put her in even more danger.

There was no disappointment in Luna's eyes, only utmost seriousness. She continued, "If you want to talk to me, I'm always ready to listen."

Seeing Luna's serious expression, Vizette murmured, his voice slightly hoarse, "Luna, I'm going to tell you a spell now... Try it and see if you can cast it."

Luna smiled and nodded repeatedly, her eyes crinkling. "Okay! Tell me!"

"This spell is similar to the Levitation Charm; the incantation is 'Levicorpus'. Its effect is similar to the Levitation Charm, but it can be used on living beings..."

As usual, Vizette helped Luna review the knowledge of "Wingardium Leviosa".

However, he did not emphasize the name of the spell, but only taught the theory and incantation.

In fact, the most important reason why this magic was special was that it could exert effects that surpassed ordinary magic by using ancient magic.

This was the most straightforward method. If Luna could use this magic to unleash a special effect different from the Levitation Spell, it must be related to some kind of ancient magic.

Having mastered the basics of Wingardium Leviosa, Luna, hearing Vizette's suggestion, asked somewhat uneasily, "Is casting a spell on you... really okay?"

Vizette glanced ahead and nodded gently, saying, "Of course it's alright, just be gentle."

"Alright! I'll do my best." Luna took a deep breath, picked up her wand with practiced ease, and gently waved it at Vizette. "Levicorpus!"
