Chapter 161 - [162] Secrets Etched in Odin's Murals

Vizette instinctively used his Revelio Charm and discovered that the place emitted a dazzling silver-blue light, comparable to the hall in the mirror world.

Ominis led the way, while Vizette, wand in hand, brought up the rear, absorbing the ancient magical power of the place and infusing it into the pages of the book.

Upon seeing the tall building, Xenophilius asked breathlessly, "Mr. Ominis, are we almost there?"

Ominis nodded in agreement: "Yes, by passing through those giant trees, we can reach the wizarding ruins left by Odin."

Luna quickly went to Xenophilius's side and obediently handed him a handkerchief. "Daddy, wipe your sweat!"

"My darling is still the best." Xenophilius was deeply moved and took out a handkerchief to wipe the sweat from his forehead.

Just like yesterday, they first searched a large area around the ruins, but still found no trace of the Crumple-Horned Snorkack.

Putting aside their disappointment, they prepared to enter the wizard ruins.

When Vizette arrived at the open space in front of the palace, his eyes were immediately drawn to the magnificent building.

This palace, once Odin's resting place, had high walls built of rough stone, covered with lush ivy.

Time had given the door frame its mottled appearance, but it had also made the carvings inside more profound and weathered, with ravines outlining the flowing clouds and wind.

The clouds and wind intertwined lightly, seemingly dancing to a certain rhythm, or perhaps writing a character.

Vizette could sense that these carvings were so naturally formed that they were probably not accomplished through conventional means.

As he carefully observed the flowing clouds and wind, he suddenly had an epiphany and recalled the magic circuit diagram he had drawn during the Christmas holidays.

Thinking of this, he quickly took out his notebook from his pocket and tried to combine his own understanding with the magic circuit diagram to see if he could form a new pattern.

Luna looked up at the carvings on the door frame. "These carvings are so lifelike... they seem to have come naturally, rather than... been carved by someone."

Ominis smiled slightly and said, "As far as I know, the carvings were already there when the wizards landed on the island."

"Perhaps, as you said, Odin recorded his thoughts in the form of magic, which is why there are no traces of embellishment?"

The walls on both sides of the porch were also adorned with exquisite bas-reliefs, seemingly telling the story of the awe-inspiring convergence of waves and lightning.

The relief sculpture not only captured the vastness of the sea, but also froze the fleeting turbulence into eternity.

"Odin is truly a remarkable artist!" Luna walked up to Vizette. "Are you…drawing something?"

"When I saw the carvings on the door frame earlier, I felt like they could connect to this picture." Vizette nodded and then tried to sketch a line.

"Is that so?" Luna leaned closer and saw the two magic circuits at the top of the notebook, as well as a dozen or so slightly messy connection diagrams below.

Vizette smelled the familiar fragrance of grass and trees, and instinctively extended his hands so that Luna could see the notes more easily.

A slightly cool touch brushed across Vizette's fingers as Luna took the pen from his hand and examined the connection diagram with great interest.

"It seems to be inspired by those carvings outside... Did you get your inspiration from there? I feel this pattern is the most beautiful, perhaps we could make them a bit more dynamic."

Luna said softly, placing the tip of her pen on a connecting diagram she had drawn earlier.

A tremor ran through Vizette's hand.

Not long after, Luna pushed the notebook back. "Look at this... isn't it much better?"

Despite having multiple connection diagrams on the notebook, Vizette could identify which connection diagram Luna had modified at a glance.

The other connection diagrams still felt closed off, except for the fourth to last connection diagram, which smoothly connected the two magic circuits.

If he had to describe it specifically, Vizette could only say that it felt like a strong wind was pushing a boulder to move rapidly.

"How is it? Does it look better than before?" Luna's tone was filled with anticipation.

Vizette nodded, a bright smile spreading across his face. "It's especially beautiful, more beautiful than any of the designs I've ever drawn."

"That's good!" Luna nodded in satisfaction, put her hands behind her back, and skipped a few steps forward.

Vizette let out a soft breath, put the notebook back in his pocket, and quickly followed.

We'll study this magic circuit we've assembled when we get back to the inn!

...

They walked into the hall through the porch, admiring the reliefs on the walls, as if they were on a lone boat, feeling the baptism of raging waves and thunder.

The circular hall also featured reliefs, which were also related to the sea.

It depicted a calm ocean, with even a setting sun sinking into the sea.

In the vast hall, there was only one stone chair in the center.

There was nothing else besides that.

"It feels…empty." Xenophilius paced back and forth in the hall, his footsteps making a "pat-pat" sound.

Ominis said, "Yes, many wizards who come here because of its reputation are just as disappointed as you when they see the empty hall."

"Perhaps that's why this wizard's ruins don't attract many tourists, far fewer than the wizard's ruins in Egypt?"

Vizette maintained his Revelio Charm, pacing like Xenophilius, absorbing all the ancient magical power contained within and then infusing it into "Hogwarts: A History".

The map in his mind related to this island was already mostly lit up, but The Standard Book of Spells was still not satisfied and had not yet turned to a new page.

"You can't expect me to climb up to that cloud, can you?" Vizette shook his head and smiled, stretching and looking around.

After the ancient magical power was absorbed, he was surprised to find that murals appeared on the walls of the hall.

However, Xenophilius muttered to himself, "There's nothing here at all? I feel a bit empty inside..."

Upon hearing these words, Vizette realized that perhaps only he could see the murals on the wall.

The murals appeared to overlap, making them extremely blurry and impossible to discern what they depicted.

Vizette frowned slightly and tried to cast the wandless, silent Levitation Charm, which actually worked on the murals, separating them.

He quickly took two steps forward and examined the four murals that had been separated on the wall.

The first mural depicted a towering tree, around which countless figures with their hands raised were gathered.

The second mural depicted a land littered with bones, where a spear pierced the sky, penetrating a person's chest. The person's face showed no pain, only peace and tranquility.

In the third mural, the spear still pointed towards the sky, but the man with the pierced chest had disappeared, leaving behind a series of halos of light spreading outwards.

The last mural was very simple, depicting only a wizard riding a longhorned horse.
