Dumbledore quickly pulled Harry back, but the green light came too fast and still hit Harry.
The green light struck Harry but bounced off the instant it touched him, blasting a deep crater in a corner of the room.
The entire room shook violently, as did Voldemort, who had transformed into unstable black mist.
"That damn woman! The protection hasn't disappeared yet!" he roared angrily, turning around with lightning speed and lunging at Vizette, who was standing to the side.
The locket reacted the fastest, transforming into a phoenix that soared into the sky and charged toward the menacing Voldemort.
Voldemort continued to laugh maniacally, "It's no use! Professor Dumbledore! You have no idea how far I've come on the path to true immortality!"
"Immortality!" Dumbledore realized, he understood Voldemort's meaning.
To achieve true immortality, both the body and the soul must work together to complete this process.
This means that Voldemort's research on both the body and soul had reached an extremely high level.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to unleash the Killing Curse at its peak while in such a weakened state.
Voldemort's black mist became ethereal and indistinct, piercing through the oncoming phoenix Fawkes and directly entering Vizette's forehead...
Vizette still remembered what he had seen and heard at the Hog's Head, and he was too lazy to listen to Voldemort's "trash talk." He simply pressed his wand against his temple, ready to cast a spell at any moment.
The moment Voldemort roared, Vizette simultaneously began casting his spell, creating a silver-blue "S"-shaped trail in the air: "Evanesco!"
The locket transformed back into Fawkes, and the bottle of Christmas gifts from Luna inside fell to the ground.
The gifts splashed up into brilliant golden flowers, adding a touch of dazzling gold to Vizette's silver-blue ancient magic.
He felt lightheaded, as if a part of himself had split off.
As this part split apart, the original silver-blue light transformed into flawless white light, rushing into the temples along with the purification and soul-cleansing incantation...
After confirming that Harry was merely unconscious, Dumbledore gritted his teeth and thrust his wand forward. A silver light shot from the tip of the wand, chasing after Voldemort's black mist.
The moment he burst forth with silver light, his skin turned deathly pale, and the light in his eyes dimmed. That silver light contained his will, his understanding of the soul.
Just then, Dumbledore noticed with surprise that a brown light was also appearing in the direction where Quirrell was.
Although the light was incredibly small, it seemed dazzling to him at that moment...
...
Voldemort sank downwards, falling into a state of weightlessness.
He adjusted quickly, maintaining his balance in weightlessness—a realm of the soul, one of his greatest strengths!
He deliberately fell down, his speed increasing, like a meteorite drawn by gravity, with a dark tail trailing behind.
Voldemort knew far too much about the soul, as it was one of the prerequisites for immortality.
He knew what he was doing; he just needed to be a little faster, a little faster, and he could reach Vizette's soul, which was what he had always wanted to do.
Use the soul of Vizette, use the soul of the Obscurus, to strengthen your own soul and make yourself stronger!
The surroundings grew brighter and brighter until he saw a maze, a golden maze resembling a gilded labyrinth.
Looking at the golden palace walls before him, Voldemort sneered. "What a clever tactic... to fight me in this way, Dumbledore, you were indeed prepared all along!"
Just then, three beams of light suddenly appeared above him.
One was a dazzling silver light, another a bright, flawless white light mixed with gold, and the last a dim brown light, symbolizing Dumbledore, Vizette, and Quirrell respectively.
"Dumbledore, you'll never know how much those Soul Soothing Potions helped me!"
Voldemort was like a chameleon, his body radiating a golden light, almost indistinguishable from the palace walls beside him.
The palace walls rippled at this moment, like rippling water that could be parted, slowly opening a gap.
Voldemort grinned maliciously. "Yes! That's it! Joy! What a wonderful feeling. It's a pity I lost it for so long. It's great to have it back!"
"Vizette, I will not completely devour you... I will leave you a few fragments, so that you may witness my next steps!"
He didn't linger; he stepped across the opening and ventured deeper into the Soul Labyrinth.
He had now completely transformed, and the golden light surrounding him had taken on the appearance of Vizette: black, tousled hair, his delicate face had matured considerably, and he had become even more handsome…
The biggest difference was in the eyes;
Vizette's eyes revealed a thirst for knowledge and a curiosity about everything.
Voldemort's eyes were filled with cruelty and pleasure, the pleasure derived from cruelty toward all things in the world.
The Labyrinth of Souls was more complex than he had imagined. Those bits and pieces from Hogwarts were able to stir up his memories, making him want to sink into them.
Hogwarts was the most important place to him.
He found a sense of belonging at Hogwarts, and even traced his origins back to realize that he was no ordinary person, possessing a distinguished family background...
Those memories, long buried deep within, seemed to surge forth, slowing his movements ever more...
Voldemort shook his head violently and quickly used Occlumency to return to his calmest state.
"Vizette...you've given me so many surprises!"
Looking ahead, he was getting closer and closer to the center of the Soul Labyrinth, and he could vaguely see a dark ancient castle standing there;
In front of the castle stood a statue of a goddess, whose face was obscured, holding a bright moon in her hands.
Just then, the brown light that symbolized Quirrell found Voldemort the fastest.
"Quirinus Quirrell!" Voldemort's voice was filled with rage. "How dare you go this far! Are you completely fearless?"
The brown light pressed on relentlessly, continuing to swirl around Voldemort, radiating rings of light with each passing moment.
"Since that's the case! Then I'll just have to devour you!" Voldemort said viciously, ceasing his efforts to break through the maze and turning his attention to the brown light.
The brown light was almost completely destroyed, and Voldemort turned it black in the blink of an eye. It would only take a little longer for the erosion to be completed.
Just then, the flawless white light symbolizing Vizette was guided there and arrived.
He understood what Voldemort was planning to do, so he had even less reason to hesitate and simply mingled into the black and brown light.
He continued to fall, eventually arriving at an old, dark, and dilapidated street…
