Chapter 117 - [117Bonus] Reflections of Deception

Voldemort paced slowly. "What have you observed? Those who risked their lives for you, because of your observations... have been killed by me one by one!"

"Even the person you were supposed to protect, that James Potter... didn't he still die at my hands? And that Lily too..."

Several ropes appeared out of thin air and bound Harry, who was about to speak, like a mummy.

"I know your secret, Dumbledore! Are you still not going to come out?" Voldemort continued, making Harry float in front of the mirror.

Upon witnessing this, Vizette used the Guardian Meditation Technique to concentrate his attention as much as possible.

Harry was like a caterpillar wriggling in a pupa, struggling desperately to resist, but could only let out intermittent whimpering sounds through the gaps in the ropes.

"Do you think... if you died, Dumbledore would mourn for you?" Voldemort suddenly said, and the ropes binding Harry's eyes vanished instantly.

Suddenly regaining his sight, Harry instinctively opened his eyes.

The mirror in front of him looked so familiar; it was the same Mirror of Erised he had encountered during his Christmas holiday night stroll.

He saw a room reflected in the mirror, which looked like an office, with a table on the side covered with silverware that was emitting smoke.

Most importantly, he saw Dumbledore!

Dumbledore's expression was very serious. Suddenly, he reached out and grabbed Dumbledore's shoulders.

"Let's do it!"

Dumbledore's voice boomed like a muffled thunderclap.

Voldemort immediately looked to the side, where Vizette waved his wand, casting the spell with effortless control, drawing an incredibly smooth and swift S-shaped trajectory with all his magical understanding. "Scourgify!"

At the same time, fiery chains appeared and bound Voldemort.

A burst of silver-blue light erupted in an instant, transforming into an enormous pillar of light that, like a ravenous, man-eating beast, devoured Voldemort instantly…

This pillar of light was like some kind of passage, through which Vizette could sense Quirrell's past.

Those memories flashed before his eyes like a revolving lantern, disappearing again and again, from infancy to childhood, and from childhood to adolescence...

Vizette saw a quiet, dark forest, and in the deepest part of the forest, he saw the most familiar Quirrell.

Quirrell was entangled and gnawed by countless Runespoors, his body almost completely ruined, with only a faint glow remaining on his head, holding the last line of defense and preventing the Runespoors from completely eroding him.

"Vizette! The bond is important…" Dumbledore's calm and gentle voice rang out.

Vizette immediately opened his backpack and took out a frog-shaped chocolate.

He couldn't yet make chocolate with magic, but he could certainly infuse emotions into chocolate by constructing a soul labyrinth.

Vizette threw the chocolate into the beam of light, and the frog-shaped chocolate seemed to come alive, appearing in the dark forest and leaping towards Quirrell little by little.

At this moment, the chocolate frog was the natural enemy of the Runespoor. As it got closer, the Runespoor collapsed, disintegrated, and then gathered together, turning into a cloud of black mist.

Voldemort's voice came from within, "Very good! Excellent! Vizette, my student! You've delivered yourself right to my doorstep!"

"I've been thinking about how to escape this frail body with minimal loss. I'm so glad you can help me! Let's get started!"

Hearing Voldemort's voice, Vizette remained unmoved, his hand waving his wand with perfect steadiness, and he whispered again, "Evanesco!"

The Runespoors that had been eroding Quirrell were completely eradicated, and the black fog above the Black Forest had reached its thickest point.

Boom!

The passage shattered at that moment, and the gathering black mist appeared in the air above the room, carrying countless drops of blood, rapidly condensing into a form...

A tall, slender humanoid object appeared in mid-air.

At the same time, Quirrell suddenly collapsed, his body feeling withered, like a dried-up corpse that had lost all its moisture.

Vizette stepped forward and caught Quirrell as he was about to fall.

"Ah!" Harry screamed, his eyes rolled back, and he fainted.

Dumbledore, his face serious, cradled the unconscious Harry with one hand and reached into his pocket with the other, taking out a red stone and pressing it against Quirrell's chest.

The red stone spread out into countless vein-like channels, piercing into Quirrell's chest and bursting forth with countless emerald green lights.

Quirrell, who had been as listless as a dried-up corpse, suddenly became like a balloon being inflated, his deflated body filling up again.

A smile appeared on Dumbledore's lips as he said to Vizette, "I told you, as long as you haven't drunk the unicorn's blood, there's still hope!"

Vizette nodded, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and let out a long breath.

Voldemort created a pale body with a snake's face, making him look grotesque and terrifying.

"Dumbledore... Professor! You did show yourself after all... I knew you were here!"

His voice was somewhat muffled, "You seem to really enjoy helping the weak? You can give the Philosopher's Stone to Quirrell, and you can make a half-breed a hunting ground guard..."

"You can even admit an Obscurial... So what about me? I'm so weak, it seems you've never helped me! I'll always remember that day! The day you came to the orphanage!"

"What did you do to me? You lit a fire and showed me how terrible magic is! Wasn't that right? My professor… You were so impressive back then! I'll remember that day for the rest of my life!"

Dumbledore took a step forward. "So that's all you remember? If so, I'm willing to apologize. I did indeed..."

Voldemort laughed wildly, "Apologize? Professor Dumbledore! I should thank you! Thank you for teaching me that magic is power! You did nothing wrong, really!"

"I loved that day! You made me return my loot, that was wonderful! You made me apologize to a bunch of idiots, that was wonderful! And you told me—Hogwarts doesn't tolerate theft!"

"That's wonderful! Professor Dumbledore, I owe my success to your teachings! Vizette, do you understand now why he allowed you to enroll?"

"Because he's trying to make amends, to make amends for his past stupidity, to make amends for the mistakes he made! I! Voldemort! You are the one who caused this! Professor Dumbledore!"

Dumbledore pursed his lips, supporting Harry with one hand while gripping his wand tightly with the other.

The Voldemort he saw now felt somewhat unfamiliar to him, as if he possessed more...humanity than when they fought before?

He considered a possibility and glanced at Vizette out of the corner of his eye.

Just then, Voldemort let out two sinister laughs. "How about that? Did I guess right?"

"Hogwarts will not tolerate theft... Come on! I'm about to start stealing and robbing again! Stop me!"

He suddenly seemed to dissolve, transforming back into black mist, appearing before Dumbledore like a black lightning bolt.

"Avada Kedavra!" A curse-like voice echoed through the room, and a sinister green light burst forth from the black mist.

The life force stolen from Quirrell's body had now transformed into a deadly curse!
