Upon heaphilius's voice, both of them were startled and took a step back in unison, then exchanged a smile.
Luna winked playfully, then fluttered past Vizette like a butterfly, "Daddy! I'm here! Merry Christmas!"
"Ah! My darling, Merry Christmas!" Xenophilius exclaimed in a high-pitched voice, "A brand new storybook! 'The Dark Shadow in the Fortress! The Wizard's Last Dance!'"
When Vizette heard the title, he couldn't help but chuckle. He greatly admired Xenophilius's ability to come up with names.
Although the book's content and illustrations were created by him and Luna, he still wanted to open it and see what was inside after hearing the title.
Vizette stepped forward and presented a Christmas gift—an old book that had been restored to its original condition, titled "I Saw the Brain: The Flying Trembling Maggot!"
The book describes the adventure of a wizard who, while going to the River of Oblivion to fetch water, unexpectedly discovers trembling maggots. It also includes several exquisite illustrations of trembling maggots.
According to the book, the trembling maggot is a floating creature that resembles a brain and can be used in medicine to enhance the effects of talent potions.
Ultimately, this wizard, thanks to a single trembling maggot, became a highly skilled potion supplier, but running out of trembling maggots led to the shop's bankruptcy...
The gift came from Luna's suggestion; she felt that not only she would like the book, but Xenophilius would too.
...
A peaceful night passed until Vizette was awakened by noises near the window.
Several owls were perched outside the window, clutching packages under their feet, and tapping on the window with their beaks.
As soon as these owls were let into the room, several more flew in.
Not long after, a large pile of packages appeared by Vizette's bedside.
He received many gifts, and Professor McGonagall's gift was a notebook, mainly focused on the basics, containing many notes and annotations.
Professor Flitwick's gift was also a notebook, which contained many notes on the concept of wandless spellcasting and how to practice silent spellcasting.
Professor Sprout's gift was seeds, containing improved Christmas cactus seeds that, in addition to swaying vines, also change color according to the seasons.
Principal Dumbledore's gift was a small locket carved with a phoenix pattern, which would emit Fawkes's singing voice when opened.
There was a note in the lining of the locket that read: "Hopefully this will help you when you need it. Merry Christmas!"
Vizette folded the paper into a lucky star, put Luna's lucky potion inside, and then took out a bandage made of unicorn fur to fill all the gaps around it.
He smiled and shook his head, as if he could understand Hagrid's feelings. "Such soft tail fur is perfect for protecting the potion!"
Hagrid also sent him a gift, a pillow only the size of a fist;
A note was attached to the pillow: Vizette, Merry Christmas! The pillow is stuffed with Diricawl down; just pull on it until it reaches your desired size.
To Vizette's surprise, Fred and George's mother, Molly, also gave him a gift: a sky-blue sweater and a box of chocolates.
The sweater also had two capital letters "WL" on it, along with a thank-you note tucked inside: "Vizette, thank you for saving my three children. This is just a small token of our appreciation. Merry Christmas!"
The Weasleys went to Romania to visit Charlie, so all four Weasley brothers spent the Christmas holidays at school this year.
The box of chocolates happened to be a Romanian specialty. Vizette took one out and put it in his mouth. It was a bit more bitter and mellow than the Chocolate Frog, making it perfect for a pick-me-up at night.
Friends also brought their own gifts, mainly various kinds of magic candies;
He put all the candies into candy jars, and surprisingly, he filled seven jars in total...
-------------------------------------
"Look at my wand, how does it feel?"
At the Hogwarts teachers' table, Flitwick spoke while directing his wand to cut sausages for him.
Sprout observed carefully, "It seems brighter than usual?"
"You need to be even more sensitive!" Flitwick emphasized. "Vizette gave me a set of exquisite wand care products! It's the first time I've ever received such a unique gift from a student!"
Sprout smiled slightly. "No wonder you're so happy. As a former dueling champion, this is a very thoughtful gift, isn't it?"
"He also gave me a Christmas present, a plant harvest calendar, which is a new product from Flourish and Blotts. I can use it right away!"
"He must have given gifts to all the professors." Flitwick looked at Professor McGonagall beside him. "Minerva, what did you receive?"
"A tea set." Professor McGonagall put down her knife and fork, the image of the tea set with its floral, leafy, and kitten designs surfacing in her mind. "It's very beautiful."
"Would you like to try some Muggle candy?" Dumbledore came to the teachers' table and gently tapped it, turning it into a fruit bowl filled with all sorts of candies.
Professor McGonagall tentatively asked, "Albus, how much...candy did Vizette give you?"
Dumbledore laughed, "Seven boxes in total! All sorts of flavors! I didn't expect Muggle candies to change so quickly; these candies are all very interesting!"
Professor McGonagall rubbed her temples. "I remember Mrs. Pomfrey telling you to be careful..."
"How could I possibly disappoint Vizette?" Dumbledore said, picking up a blue-wrapped candy.
"I highly recommend these popping candies! Sprinkle a handful into your mouth, and you'll feel the candies fighting each other!"
He picked up an egg-shaped chocolate, "This one is also very interesting. Muggles put toys inside the candy, like cars that move by themselves when you pull them, and wind-up dolls that move on their own when you wind them up..."
Just as Dumbledore was introducing the candies, Snape also came to the teachers' table.
He watched Dumbledore's actions, pursed his lips, and sat down in the place furthest away from Dumbledore.
Flitwick waved his wand, causing the chair to float to Snape's side. "Severus, Vizette must have given you a gift too, right? Knowing his nature, he certainly wouldn't have left you out."
"A gift? I gave it to him." Snape replied simply in a low voice, "A set of rather useless potion-making equipment and a bottle of soul-soothing potion."
"The finished product of the Soul Soothing Agent was terrible; there must have been a problem with the process. I wrote him a letter pointing out those flaws."
"I see…" Flitwick murmured. "Is this your Christmas present to Vizette? A suggestion for improving a potion?"
"Think what you want..." Snape slammed his hand on the table, and a plate of bacon, sausage, and buttered bread appeared in front of him.
Flitwick remarked, "That's really special! You rarely send gifts at Christmas... just a letter..."
