Chapter 83 - [83] Snitch Switcheroo – Ravenclaw's Epic Upset

Upon hearing Lee Jordan's explanation, Vizette immediately began searching for Cedric's trail, while simultaneously using his Magic Eye to pinpoint the Golden Snitch's exact location.

He discovered that there was no trace of the Golden Snitch in the direction Cedric was chasing.

"This is a trap!" Vizette realized immediately, looking in the opposite direction from Cedric, where the Ravenclaw goalposts were not far away.

Sure enough, the Golden Snitch stopped there, tracing zigzag lines in the air.

The Golden Snitch is a magical artifact modeled after the Golden Snidget, and it also inherits some of the Golden Snidget's habits, such as being able to stay in the air for a short period of time.

The Seekers also use this brief pause to pinpoint the Golden Snitch's exact location.

Cedric's initial move was actually one of the strategies employed by the stronger Seeker.

By using feints to confuse the opponent, and once the opponent is misled, suddenly change direction and accelerate to catch the Golden Snitch unexpectedly.

"Why is Vizette suddenly flying towards his own goalpost?" Lee Jordan suddenly noticed the unusual movement. "He looks like he's about to shoot?"

"Wait! That's our own goalpost! They'll calculate the points for Hufflepuff! Vizette raised his hand... He really wanted to throw the Quaffle at his own goalpost!"

Arsenal was also somewhat puzzled, but out of trust in his teammates, he didn't say anything and simply focused his attention, ready to coordinate with Vizette at any time.

Vizette let out a soft breath and shouted loudly at Cho Chang, "Cho! Goalpost! Goalpost!"

Cho Chang instinctively turned her head to look, and did not continue to chase Cedric's flying broom.

She noticed the golden glint of the Golden Snitch next to her own goalpost.

"Oh no!"

Cedric felt a chill run down his spine. He instantly understood what Vizette was talking about, and immediately turned the broom handle around and rushed towards the Ravenclaw goalpost.

"Oh! Merlin's beard!" Lee Jordan exclaimed upon hearing Vizette's shout. "The Golden Snitch was in the opposite direction! Cedric was just feinting!"

"But Cho Chang was closer; she was near the goalpost! She might be able to... catch the Golden Snitch faster than Cedric!"

The audience's hearts were in their throats as they watched Cho Chang and Cedric, wondering who would catch the Golden Snitch.

If Cedric caught the Golden Snitch, the score would be completely reversed, and Hufflepuff would achieve final victory.

Vizette cast the Guardian Meditation Technique, his gaze constantly shifting between four directions: Cho Chang, Cedric, the goalpost, the Golden Snitch...

The Golden Snitch would fly away immediately once the Seeker got close;

Extending this line of sight based on Cho Chang's flight angle, the Golden Snitch was most likely to fly towards Cedric;

In that case, Cedric would probably catch the Golden Snitch!

The turning point was the Quaffle in his hand!

Vizette let out a long breath, channeled ancient magical power into the Quaffle, and then hurled the ball away!

Ancient Magic: Throwing Mastery

The Quaffle, launched with a whooshing sound, arrived in front of Arsenal in the blink of an eye.

Judging from the trajectory of the Quaffle, Arsenal could be certain that Vizette's target was not his own goal circle, but rather the goalpost below it.

He vaguely guessed what Vizette was going to do and murmured, "Can he really do something like that?"

Under his expectant gaze, the Quaffle, like a red lightning bolt, struck the goalpost and instantly bounced off in another direction.

"Vizette seems to have other plans… the Quaffle hit the post…" Lee Jordan said hesitantly.

He then looked to the other side, his tone becoming more impassioned, "Cedric was very close to the Golden Snitch! But Cho Chang was even faster!"

"The Golden Snitch had escaped! It was heading towards Cedric! Merlin's flowery shorts! What a rollercoaster of a match! Cedric was probably going to catch the Golden Snitch!"

A collective sigh rippled through the Ravenclaw stands.

Just as Vizette had predicted, the Golden Snitch, sensing Cho Chang's approach, panicked and chose to fly towards Cedric's direction.

Vizette's attention was entirely focused on the Quaffle, constantly channeling the ancient magical power within it to subtly correct its trajectory until...

"Let's congratulate Hufflepuff on their victory…" Lee Jordan rattled off, then suddenly paused, "Quaffle!"

"Hufflepuff... Cedric's got a Quaffle! The Golden Snitch is now... in Cho Chang's hands! She's caught the Golden Snitch!"

"Match over! The final score was 320 to 40! Ravenclaw has won the opening match! Congratulations to Ravenclaw!"

However, he was still a bit confused and quickly asked, "Professor Flitwick, what exactly happened just now?"

His attention was focused on Cedric, and he didn't notice when the Quaffle appeared.

The Ravenclaw stands erupted in cheers, a deafening roar, with many students standing up and waving their arms as they chanted Vizette's name.

"Ravenclaw! Ravenclaw!" Flitwick shouted.

He raised his wand, which conjured countless colorful ribbons that fluttered freely across the Quidditch pitch.

When he heard Lee Jordan's question, he put down his wand, coughed lightly, and tried to suppress the excitement in his voice, making his voice as calm as possible.

"Vizette's Quaffle hit the goalpost and bounced off!" he gestured exaggeratedly.

"That hit the Golden Snitch! It's unbelievable, I've never seen this kind of Quidditch play before! It's simply incredible!"

A commotion arose in the crowd, followed by shouts for Vizette growing louder and louder, echoing throughout the Quidditch pitch.

"This…" Lee Jordan swallowed hard. "Is this luck or skill…? Anyway! Let's congratulate Ravenclaw once again! Incredible Ravenclaw!"

As soon as Vizette returned to the ground, his teammates rushed towards him, their faces beaming with uncontainable joy.

They desperately needed a victory.

A house with a lounge high up and an eagle as its emblem, yet its Quidditch results were consistently the worst...

This was simply unacceptable for Ravenclaw.

Ravenclaw's students also gathered around, and Vizette was lifted high by them like a newly crowned hero, and they escorted him off the field.

If they weren't worried about Vizette falling, they would have carried him across the snow-covered grass into the Ravenclaw lounge.

Back in the lounge, Vizette checked the time again.

It was not even 1 p.m. yet; he still had time to take a nap before attending Quirrell's private lessons…
