Chapter 68 - [68] Unveiling the Magic Eye's Depths

Sprout controlled the light at the tip of her wand, making it as wide a barrier as possible.

Like a valiant female knight, she raised her shield of light and forced the Devil's Snare back into the dark wooden box.

The students were still in shock; the sudden attack from the Devil's Snare had left them somewhat bewildered.

"Kids, thankfully our little mishap only involved one tendril." Sprout regained her cheerful demeanor and symbolically waved the tendril in her hand, trying to relax the students.

After the students recovered, she cleared her throat and continued her lecture, "See? Just as I said, the Devil's Snare is extremely cunning and extremely dangerous."

"The Devil's Snare has an astonishing ability to strangle, and can even effectively kill giants. However, its weakness is obvious: warmth and light can repel the Devil's Snare."

"You should all have mastered the Fire-Starting Charm and the Lumos Charm. If not, that's alright. We'll practice these two spells next."

...

Vizette was daydreaming; perhaps this was the first time he had ever been distracted in class.

He was still recalling everything he had seen before, especially the moment when the Devil's Snare revealed its true form, which left a particularly deep impression on him.

The moment the sheepdog approached, the blurry magical circuit representing the Devil's Snare changed, and the overall structure seemed to expand and become more complex.

Still limited by the level of his Magic Eye, he was unable to see the whole process clearly.

Vizette had a gut feeling that this change in the magic circuit would definitely help him better understand Transfiguration.

After a brief moment of thought, he infused the Eye of Magic with ancient magical power, hoping for its further growth.

Similar to when he first activated the Eye of Magic, everything around him changed.

The world before his eyes seemed to be collapsing, with cracks appearing one after another, from which colorful lines and blocks of color surged forth.

These lines and blocks of color came together to shape the world, transforming it into clear patterns.

The patterns became more and more numerous and intricate, arranging and stacking themselves together... until he could no longer see them clearly.

In the blink of an eye, the greenhouse reappeared before his eyes.

The students lined up and, with Sprout as their safety instructor, practiced how to deal with the Devil's Snare.

Vizette let out a soft breath, savoring everything that had just happened.

When he first opened his Eye of Magic, he felt as if he were standing on the river of history, viewing the world from a macro perspective.

Now, the Eye of Magic had grown further, his perspective had shifted from macro to micro, and he had transformed the way he saw the world.

The pages of "The Wizarding Guide to Practical Application" had also changed.

"Vizette! Come here!" Anthony turned around and called to Vizette.

Vizette nodded and lined up behind Anthony.

Anthony asked with concern, "You were spacing out for a long time just now... Is it a side effect of dealing with the troll last night?"

"No…" Vizette shook his head gently. "I probably didn't get enough sleep. I only went back to sleep this morning when the sun was rising."

Michael leaned closer. "Why are you up so late? Are you too excited to sleep because you killed the troll?"

"Because I have to write a reply," Vizette explained. "By the way, do you guys want the toffee Luna sent me?"

Michael waved his hand, saying dejectedly, "I don't want to eat it anymore... the gummy filling inside must be sour and rotten!"

"Uh…" Vizette corrected, "Actually, it's scallion flavor, which is the taste of Gurdyroot. It's not bad once you get used to it."

Chris joined the conversation, asking in surprise, "Is this still toffee? Your sister has such unique tastes?"

Vizette shook his head. "It was Mr. Lovegood's idea. He wanted to give me a surprise."

Anthony murmured, "It seems you have a good relationship with Mr. Lovegood. I heard from my relatives that he's not a very easy person to get along with."

"He's an interesting person, and very respectable," Vizette said seriously.

He said this from the bottom of his heart. After Luna's mother passed away, Xenophilius took care of Luna all by himself.

Luna's family background was very, very ordinary. Besides her own precocious intelligence and understanding, Xenophilius also played a key role in Luna's ability to remain cheerful and optimistic.

Happy people use their childhood to heal their entire lives; unhappy people use their entire lives to heal their childhood.

Clearly, Xenophilius did his best to ensure that Luna wouldn't have to spend her life healing from her childhood trauma.

"Stop talking." Michael pretended to clutch his chest, feigning angina. "I think the sour smell is getting stronger and stronger..."

A smile played on Vizette's lips as he looked at the Christmas cactus not far away.

With the help of the intermediate-level magic eye, the magic circuits within were indeed clearly visible...

Compared to the symbols presented by potion ingredients, the magical circuits presented by the Christmas cactus, as a magical plant, were obviously more complex.

They were arranged and combined one by one, working in precision like mechanical gears, where a change in one affected the whole, which was why the Christmas cactus was so lively.

Vizette gazed at the clear scene before him, becoming somewhat mesmerized.

Sprout's voice rang out, "Mr. Lovegood, are you ready? Please take out your wand."

"Vizette! Vizette!" Michael nudged Vizette's shoulder.

Vizette quickly apologized, "I'm sorry... Professor Sprout, I was daydreaming."

Sprout looked concerned. "You must not have slept well last night, right? After all, it's the first time you've experienced something so dangerous."

"However, I hope you will stay alert. In special circumstances, the danger of the Devil's Snare is no less than that of the Troll."

"So I will teach you how to use your wands to protect yourselves and how to calmly deal with the Devil's Snare."

"Thank you, I will do my best!" Vizette nodded and held the wand in his hand.

Sprout instructed, "I will open the box. You have about ten seconds to react... Don't push yourself. You can use either the Lumos Charm or the Fire-Starting Charm."

She placed one hand on the handle of the box and gripped her wand in the other, ready to cast a spell to repel the Devil's Snare.

Are you ready?

"Yes!"

The box was pulled open, and the Devil's Snare was no longer disguised; the vines were dark green, which slightly disappointed Vizette.

He had a gut feeling that taking another look at the process of the Devil's Snare's disguise would greatly help in understanding the Transfiguration.

Sensing the presence of living beings ahead, the Devil's Snare immediately extended its snake-like vines, reaching out to grab Vizette from all directions.

"Lumos!"

Vizette waved his wand, and a burst of light, like a flashbang, exploded out.

The Devil's Snare dared not approach at all, retreating into the box almost in the blink of an eye, and even its swaying vines dared not continue…
