Leon and Valeria sat beside each other as yelling could be heard from inside the mansion. Cersei was criticizing Rika for allowing a vampire to stay the night. While Rika was defending her vetting of Valeria.
Leon looked towards Valeria and began to talk while trying to ignore the yelling about her from inside.
"So Rika let you stay?"
"Yeah. After I answered all her questions. And she asked a lot of personal stuff too."
"I'll talk to her later. I'm sorry if she made you uncomfortable or anything."
"She did. But it's alright, trust me, you don't need to talk to her. She promised me she wouldn't tell you what I said."
Wait why did she promise not to tell. What was Rika asking about?
"Valeria, what did she..."
Before he could finish speaking, Rika and Cersei had brought their fight onto the balcony.
"You're still alive aren't you?"
"That's not the point! What if you were wrong? What if she lost control? We could all dead right now"
"But look at that. I was once again, not wrong. Also even if she lost control, she'd completely ignore you to go after him. You should see and hear the way she drinks his blood."
Valeria's face began to match her hair.
"You really don't see the problem here?"
"I get that you're uncomfortable but there's no problem here. She isn't a threat to you, nor does she have any ill intent."
Cersei and Rika both looked over at Valeria. She was still blushing from being reminded of how she reacted to tasting Leon last night.
"Still doubt me?"
"Ugh. Whatever."
The two girls joined them at the table. To Leon's right was a blushing vampire. To his left was a smug ninja and across was a begrudging witch.
After a moment for everyone to calm down, Leon was the first to break the awkward silence.
"So what are the next steps?"
Cersei spoke first. Her voice was still annoyed but she was trying to move past that.
"Still not sure if it's possible but I need to keep looking for a way to turn a succubus back into a human."
"We're also going to have to go explain everything to the King. We can't take Celestine with us either so that's going to be a pain."
"Wait, why can't you take her with you?"
"Seriously? She doesn't want to be around any men. We literally evacuated this whole mansion before we brought her here."
"You're the exception, Farmboy. Since she can't kill you, you're going to be her food going forward."
I've been reincarnated to be food for a pair of monster girls. Not exactly the 'Hero's Journey'. Whatever, I gotta play the hand I'm dealt.
"Alright so I don't mind being food and all, but while I'm here, can you girls help me become stronger. Valeria already agreed to try and teach me blood arts..."
"So that's it! You made a pack with this Vampire to become stronger? You're her food and she'll teach you vampiric magic? Hah. She scammed you. She'll grow way stronger before you ever learn anything."
"I did not scam him!"
"You're living undead. An artificially created race. Your Vampiric magic is a manufactured racial skill. Not something someone can learn naturally."
"It's called Blood arts. It may be a racial ability but it still uses Chi like you humans use. We just don't produce Chi innately, but that's no reason I can't teach him. And since he's using himself, there is nothing wrong about it either!"
Valeria was getting upset while Cersei looked at her with skepticism. Both girls were still not liking the other.
"Get a long you two. Farmboy does have the Vitality for it. There are stories of humans who lived with other races and learned some racial skills. Him having no attribute for Chi might make it harder or since vampires also have no Chi attribute, it might be perfect for him."
"Rika's right. This is one of the best shots I got. I'm here anyway for Celestine. So if you and Rika can help me too, it would mean a lot!"
Cersei looked at him begrudging. She was outnumbered with her only argument being her own opinion. Meanwhile he was actively helping others with his only goal seemingly to get stronger.
"Ugh. Whatever. Just try not to bother me too much. However, once we cure Celestine, you're out of luck."
A new pair of voices joined the discussion. Roselyn teased as she spoke, while Tala held a bit of confusion in her usual disinterested tone.
"Wow Cersei is being nice! Look at that Tala."
"Yeah I don't get it. He's a weakling."
"Ok, well, don't say that. I'm making a joke here."
"Don't get ahead of yourself. He's our only food for Celestine till I find a cure. I'm making an effort since we're going to be near each other for a while."
Roslyn and Tala sat at the table. Everyone was here except for the princess.
"I checked on Celestine before coming out. She is fine and awake but has decided to stay in her room for now. Since everyone else is here, let's clarify and discuss our next course of action."
Roslyn naturally took control of the conversation. She wasn't in her armor but rather a simple white robe. Her blonde hair and blue eyes match the princess. Roslyn however was slightly more mature with a muscular physique on par with Tala's. Despite being cousins, Roslyn could easily pass for Celestine's older sister.
"To recap the events of last night. We successfully rescued the princess and wiped out that Succubi sorority. We still need to find out why they targeted only her exactly. Moving along, after rescuing her, we cleared out this mansion that belonged to the royal family and brought Leon to serve as a sustainable...food source."
Roslyn struggled in the last part. Even with all her leadership skills, referring to a human as food was hard for her.
"Don't worry about it. Anything else you would have said would probably make it weirder."
"Thank you. Now. Continuing on. We need to inform the Royal family. I'm not sure how they are going to take it but considering the situation, I believe we reached a good outcome. Tala Cersei and I will talk to the King while Rika, I want you to stay and watch over Celestine and Leon. I don't want either of them leaving the property."
Damn, guess I'm on house arrest too.
"Sorry about this but we can't risk you disappearing. The walls are tall enough that you will have privacy to train with Valeria. Rika is staying back too, so you should be 'plenty' occupied."
"What's that supposed to mean!"
"Oh nothing Rika, Anyways. We have our tasks. Let's move out."
