Things had not become any less awkward. In fact, they had only grown worse. Leon now found himself sitting on the edge of his bed, sandwiched between Celestine and Valeria.
The arguing had continued even after they left the garden, and by the time Leon returned inside to clean up, the two girls were still unable to agree on who would eat first. In the end, they reached a tense compromise to feed at the same time.
Celestine rested across his lap, angled slightly sideways as both legs draped over his right thigh. Her hip settled against him as though it belonged there, her body turned just enough that her chest brushed warmly against his. One hand spread over the right side of his chest, while the other cradled his face with deliberate tenderness. Celestine didn't pull him closer, but rather draped herself across his body.
Behind him, Valeria knelt on the mattress, her knees framing his hips as she pressed herself firmly to his back. There was nothing held back in the way she held him. Her chest squeezing to him, her arms sliding forward over his shoulders to encircle him completely. Her fingers gripping as though to pull him away from her. When compared to Celestine, Valeria possessively grabbed him with her whole body.
"Why do you get the front?"
"Because I have to kiss him. Why are you hugging him? Can't you just drink from his finger?"
"I can drink more from his neck!"
These two still haven't stopped. I don't know what to do. There must be more to this fighting that I'm missing.
"Girls, what's the rush to get married? Even if I married one, both or none of you, I wouldn't abandon you to starve. Marriage should be about love."
I'm definitely shooting myself in the foot here but I don't want a wife who only likes me because she needs me to survive.
The two girls blushed, both slightly embarrassed by their behaviours. They had just been scolded by Rika and yet were back at it again. The worries of being left behind still eating at them.
"Sorry... you're right. I'm getting ahead of myself."
Valeria was the first to speak.
"When Celestine said you were her fiance I got really jealous all of a sudden. I had just met you and you were so kind to me! You fed and trusted me without hesitation! 'A fateful encounter ' as you said... So I got scared I was going to lose you. Like out of nowhere, I was losing a race I didn't even know I was in..."
"I'm sorry too. I got a bit jealous when I saw you resting on her lap. I always dreamed of finding love and getting married. As a princess I knew that probably never happened and I'd probably just be married off. Then when I got turned into a succubus, and everything felt lost... So when I saw you on her lap, I too was scared."
In retrospect this should have been obvious. I never had a girlfriend but still... I let them be insecure and scared...
"Hey it's my fault. You both were scared and I didn't comfort you. You both felt the need to throw yourself at me..."
Celestine sat upright and pressed herself even more against his body. Not in a seductive way, but rather determined to confess her feelings
"Hey don't apologize! It's true I'm not quite ready for marriage and things may change one day, but if I had to choose, regardless of if I was a human or succubus. Right now, I'd choose you. As for Valeria, I welcome you to take her as a 2nd wife. She clearly likes you as much as I do."
Leon's checks were burning red.
Wait! 2nd wife!?
Valeria leaned over his shoulder. Her head slightly slanted as she looked him in the eyes. She smiled brightly, her previous fears all evaporated.
"Yeah I guess I wouldn't mind Celestine being your 2nd eternally vowed. Even if our pact isn't a romantic one, our deal still binds us."
What's happening here…the fighting and insecurities are gone... but somehow they still really want to marry me...
His brain started to short circuit. The two girls were now even closer to him. Giggling as they had carefreely clung to him even more.
"So? What do you say?"
"Look at him blushing!"
"...Alright then… I accept. Both of you. I'd be lucky to have either of you."
The girls exchanged a glance, eyes sparkling with joy and mischief.
"Then it's settled. The fight for his 1st wife begins. Let us have a fair competition."
"Of course! But just because we're sisters now, don't think I'll go easy on you princess."
In this new world, he had just been handed the most ridiculous yet perfect problem ever. Now both of them, two rivals, giggling and leaning against him, were finally ready to begin eating.
