The next morning, Elena drifted into the walk-in closet wrapped in a pale satin kimono. Sleep still clung to her eyes, soft and hazy, as she went straight to Jin Di and buried her face against his chest, her arms sliding around his waist.
"Good morning, beautiful," he said, smiling as he held her.
"Mmm… morning," she murmured, yawning. Then she lifted her head and squinted up at him. "Let me dry your hair."
She took the hair dryer and carefully dried his hair, her movements gentle and unhurried. When she was done, she helped him into his shirt, fastening the buttons one by one, then straightening his tie with quiet focus.
For a brief moment, Jin Di simply watched her. A warm, unfamiliar feeling spread through his chest.
So this is what it feels like, he thought. To have someone waiting for you like this.
He almost laughed at himself. If he had his way, he would have dragged her straight to register their marriage before she was fully awake.
