That evening, after returning from the barbecue restaurant near the station, Dalton drove Noel home and the man went straight to his room. All day long, he had felt so happy because Dalton had managed to distract him from thinking about Alastair.
However, as soon as he arrived in his room, he felt empty and lonely again.
Noel threw his bag down, then lay on the bed staring at the ceiling.
"What's the point of me continuing to think about this? This isn't like me."
Too tired to think about anything else, he decided to sleep. Forgetting for a moment the chaos that had occurred.
