Chapter 15 - Kiss?

When Walls Come Down

Jay's breath hitched as Keifer's hand lingered in hers. The weight of everything they just said still hung in the air—but now, there was something else. A charged silence, a pull neither could ignore.

Keifer's eyes darkened with something fierce. "You know, you almost made me think I'd have to wait forever to kiss you."

Jay's lips curled into a sly smile. "Good thing I said something then. I'm not waiting either."

Before she could second-guess herself, Keifer closed the distance, his hand cupping her cheek like he was memorizing every curve.

The kiss was slow and deliberate at first, teasing and soft—an unspoken question that Jay answered with a quiet sigh, pressing closer.

His other hand slid down to her waist, pulling her flush against him.

"See?" he murmured against her lips. "Not halfway anymore."

Jay's fingers tangled in his hair, tugging just enough to make him groan—a deep, satisfied sound that sent heat rushing through her veins.

They broke apart only to rest their foreheads together, breaths mingling.

"Promise me," Jay whispered, voice husky, "that next time you won't hold back."

Keifer smiled, eyes sparkling with mischief and something tender.

"Promise. But fair warning—waiting might not be my strong suit."

A slow grin spread across Jay's face as she teased, "Good. Because neither is mine."

And with a spark that set the night on fire, they dove back in—no pretending, no half measures—just two hearts breaking down walls and finding home in each other.
