Chapter 109: Monkey Talisman Clue
"Bananas?" Silas, who had been waiting in place, suddenly smelled bananas, and then banana trees sprouted all around him.
The banana trees seemed to accelerate their growth, going from saplings to fully ripe fruit instantly.
Chitter! Chitter! Chitter!
A group of brown monkeys leaped from the distance. One by one, they jumped onto the banana trees, began harvesting the bananas, and stuffed them all into their pouches.
Clap!
Then, the entire scene dissolved into star points, forming the image of a monkey. Silas never expected the Monkey Talisman to be next.
He successfully avoided the Rat Talisman and the Sheep Talisman, only to get a Monkey?
Wait a minute?! Maybe the Monkey Talisman wasn't bad after all. For example, turning the Avengers into cats? Wouldn't that be a fun scene?
The Monkey Talisman did have one flaw: even if a person was turned into an animal, they would still retain their original powers. Just like when Shendu was turned into a rabbit, he still used his power to steal the Monkey Talisman back and revert himself.
Silas reached out and clicked on the Monkey Talisman. The star points quickly scattered, forming text that appeared before him.
The Seventy-Two Heavenly Transformations of the Great Sage Equal to Heaven are boundless. Perhaps the power of the Monkey Talisman originated from him.
"You're telling me to find Sun Wukong (Monkey King)?" Silas twitched his mouth. That was too ridiculous. He decided to move on to the next clue.
Silas did not hesitate to redeem the next level of the Talisman clue. After all, it only cost one hundred Justice Points, which was more than enough for him.
Deducting 100 Justice Points, unlocking the next clue for the Monkey Talisman.
Sun Wukong originates from people's fantasies, but the object of the Seventy-Two Transformations exists in the real world.
"Why is this getting more confusing?" Silas asked, crossing his arms. Was there really something like that in the real world?
There were many wondrous things in the Marvel world, but he hadn't heard of anything that could imitate the Monkey Talisman's ability. It seemed unlikely.
"Did I miss something?" Silas kept thinking about what he might have forgotten, but he couldn't recall anything relevant.
"I give up, continue redeeming the clue," Silas said boldly. It only doubled (multiplied), and he had plenty of Justice Points.
Deducting 1,000 Justice Points, unlocking the next clue for the Monkey Talisman.
"Did the doubling mean multiplying by ten times in one go?" Silas was astonished. He thought it was just a simple doubling, not a tenfold jump! The main reason was that for all previous Talismans, he had figured out the clue by the second hint. This time, he still hadn't figured out the second hint.
This object changes infinitely and exists in people's everyday lives.
"This..." Silas felt the clues were getting shorter and shorter, practically saying nothing at all.
Silas wanted to unlock the next clue again, but at 10,000 Justice Points, he had to stop. He really was too naive.
Stopping his pursuit of further clues, Silas had to seriously consider what the current clues pointed to.
First, the clues stated that this thing definitely existed in the real world, meaning it was a tangible object.
And this object existed all around people, meaning it was very common?
That's where Silas got stuck. What common object could possibly have "Seventy-Two Transformations"?
"Consulting the Intelligence Team Little Black, do you know?" Silas turned and asked.
Little Black shook his head. He wasn't very clear either, mainly because the clues were so confusing this time, with a sense of repetition.
"Is it a Transformer?" Silas tried, but the system didn't react. This was the closest answer Silas could think of, and he couldn't come up with anything else.
"Let fate decide~ Let fate decide~" Silas had gotten himself into a huge pickle. He wouldn't be able to unlock the clue for the next Talisman until he solved the current one.
"Talisman Squad, come out," Silas commanded.
Instantly, nine Shadowkhan ninjas emerged from the Shadow Realm. Their clothing was no longer the plain black of ordinary Shadowkhan ninjas. Their black outfits were now printed with the symbols of the Twelve Talismans, signifying their status as the Master's most important ninja soldiers.
"I've given you the clue. This time there's no Talisman Finder; how you search is up to you."
Silas told the Talisman Squad the clues. The rest of the search for the Monkey Talisman was up to them.
The captain of the Talisman Squad accepted the mission, feeling confused. This was unlike their usual missions.
"Keep it up, my Talisman Squad. Before, you relied on the Talisman Finder, but now you rely on yourselves. This is how you demonstrate the specialty of your Talisman Squad."
Silas went to the captain, patted his shoulder, and encouraged him. After all, when relying on the Talisman Finder, he could send any few Shadowkhan ninjas. Now, they finally had to rely on themselves.
The captain immediately saluted Silas. The Talisman Squad guarantees the completion of the mission.
"Very good. I leave it to you, my Talisman Squad," Silas waved at the squad.
The Talisman Squad members dove one by one into the Shadow Realm and headed to San Francisco. In their memory, the probability of a Talisman appearing there was relatively high.
Silas didn't stand idle after seeing the Talisman Squad off. Nine ninja soldiers were far from enough. Thus, Silas summoned all the Shadowkhan ninjas he had so far, totaling two thousand, all summoned using Sin Points.
The two thousand Shadowkhan ninjas quickly spread out, centering on Silas's home, to search for the Talisman. The Shadowkhan army in the Shadow Realm was now gone, leaving only Little Black doing his tech research, Big Black in solitary confinement, and the hungry Shadow Eater Squad.
Silas didn't sit idle either. He went to his desk, opened his computer, and began asking for information online. After all, the power of the masses was the strongest.
Last time, almost no one responded to Silas's question about the Pig Talisman clue. This time, he specifically offered a reward of ten dollars. Under a generous reward, there must be an answer.
The Other Side
"Sorry, everyone. Bullying a girl is certainly no sign of ability!" Peter had just finished dealing with a robbery and was looking at the time, ready to go home. He suddenly noticed five men cornering a beautiful, sexy woman in an alley.
As the righteous and kind Spider-Man, Peter couldn't stand by. He immediately shouted from above the group.
"Spider-Man? Isn't he supposed to be active in Queens?" One of the men clearly recognized Peter.
"Who cares who he is? He can't stop a bullet," another man raised a gun and fired at Peter.
Peter quickly dodged, thanks to his spider-sense, and landed in front of the woman. Turning his back to her, he said, "Wearing something so revealing late at night makes it easy to attract creeps, Miss."
The woman had white hair and was wearing a black uniform that exposed her fair skin at the chest. She was also wearing a black eye mask. Peter swore this woman could rival Mr. Stark's secretary.
"Then are you willing to help me chase them away?" the woman asked in an extremely seductive voice.
"You can rely on me. I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man," Peter said.
"Don't be a busybody, Spider-Man! She stole something from us," all five men pulled out handguns.
Peter frowned and turned his head to ask, "Did you steal something from them?"
"No!" the woman said decisively.
However, the five men didn't care anymore. Bang! Bang! Bang!
