Chapter 106: The Schoolbag Recovered

"Good morning, students."

Klein stepped into the classroom with a smile on his face. He looked at Silas and Peter below and even winked at them.

Silas hadn't expected Klein to actually turn back. What exactly happened to Klein's body last night that allowed him to revert to normal?

"Silas, I remember assigning you a task yesterday—writing a written promise. Did you write it?" Klein came up beside Silas and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Huh?!" Silas turned to look at Klein in shock. He said he didn't need to write it!

"Haha~" Klein chuckled. "Just kidding, Silas."

Silas twitched his mouth, speechless. Klein was certainly a humorous teacher, perhaps that was the result of the mood boost from turning back to normal.

"Silas~" Peter whispered from beside him.

Silas turned his head, puzzled. "What is it?"

"I didn't bring my schoolbag," Peter said awkwardly.

In their rush this morning, neither of the brothers had brought their schoolbags to school.

"Oh yeah, the schoolbag." Silas took advantage of everyone being distracted and summoned a Shadow Eater Ninja.

The tiny Shadow Eater Ninja appeared in the drawer, carrying a schoolbag in its mouth. After completing its task, it dove back into the Shadow Realm.

Silas took out the schoolbag from the drawer and shook it in front of Peter. "My schoolbag is right here."

"Oh no..." Peter remembered where his schoolbag was.

Yesterday, to chase Klein, he had thrown his schoolbag onto a wall and stuck it there with webs. Webbing dissolves automatically. He threw it high up specifically so no one would take it, and with the webbing's toughness, no one could knock it down. Now, thinking about it...

"It's just an unlucky day," Peter said, collapsing onto his desk, drained of energy.

Losing the schoolbag wasn't the biggest deal, but it contained his spare Spider-Suit, and it even had his name on it. Would this expose his identity?

"What's wrong?" Silas asked.

Peter looked at Silas, looking utterly miserable. "Silas, my schoolbag is missing."

"Uh..." Silas felt a little helpless. Losing a schoolbag? What was he supposed to do? Searching for a schoolbag in New York City was hard enough even if he called up the entire Shadowkhan army.

The main issue was that there were absolutely no clues about who took the schoolbag.

Silas ignored Peter's look; he signaled he couldn't help.

The day passed quickly, and it was time for school to end.

"Get in," Klein said, stopping his car in front of Silas and Peter.

Silas and Peter opened the car doors and got in without a word.

"Teacher Klein, how did you turn back?" Peter asked immediately upon entering the car.

Klein started the car and said while driving, "I was worried all night and couldn't sleep. But by six o'clock, my body started reverting, and soon after, I was back to my normal self."

"Cool~ That's amazing," Peter exclaimed.

Silas quickly followed up, "So, Teacher, do you still possess those superhuman powers?"

"Yes, but they are not as strong as when I was in monster form," Klein explained.

Silas nodded. That meant Klein had returned to normal but still retained superhuman abilities.

"Shall I drive you home now?" Klein asked.

"Thank you," Peter and Silas replied.

Soon, Silas and Peter arrived home. They waved to Klein and walked inside.

Silas's Room

"I really can't believe Teacher Klein just turned back like that," Peter said.

"What? Were you hoping Teacher Klein wouldn't turn back?" Silas teased.

Peter quickly shook his head. "No, no, no~ Of course not! I'm just curious about how Teacher Klein reverted."

"I'm curious too, but it's a good thing he did," Silas shrugged.

Knock, knock, knock! A knock came at the door.

"Come in," Silas said.

Aunt May walked in, holding a schoolbag. "Peter, is this your schoolbag?"

"Oh my gosh, I think so!" Peter quickly stood up, went to Aunt May, unzipped it, and rummaged through it. The Spider-Suit was still there!

"Aunt May! Did you look at anything inside my schoolbag?" Peter asked anxiously.

Aunt May looked at the nervous Peter strangely. "No, why are you so worried?"

"Nothing, just... what are we having for dinner this evening?" Peter quickly changed the subject.

"Oh, right. The fridge is empty. I should go to the supermarket to buy some groceries. Do you two want to come?" Aunt May successfully had her attention diverted by Peter.

Peter shook his head. "No, Aunt May, but if you need help carrying things, we can go and help."

"Haha~ No need. You two stay home. I'm heading out," Aunt May said, turning to leave.

Click! The door closed.

Peter came back to Silas. "This is unbelievable! My schoolbag is back?!"

"You might have missed something," Silas said, noticing a white piece of paper sticking out of the schoolbag.

Silas took out the white paper. On it was written a single line: "Underoos, next time remember to keep an eye on your schoolbag. Don't lose your pajamas again."

"It's Mr. Stark!" Peter said. Only Stark called him Underoos.

"Stark? How did he get your schoolbag?" Silas was completely confused. Did Stark just happen to pass by and see Peter's schoolbag?

Freedom City (Stark Tower/Base)

"The schoolbag was returned? Alright, that's fine." Tony hung up his call with Happy.

"I can't believe Underoos lost his pajamas," Tony said to J.A.R.V.I.S.

The reason Tony knew Peter's schoolbag was missing was because one of the miniature surveillance cameras he had installed was located in that very alley. J.A.R.V.I.S. immediately reported the sighting to Tony after recognizing Peter's suit. Tony, having nothing better to do, flew over in his suit. At that time, someone was trying to take Peter's schoolbag, so Tony stopped him.

Speaking of the miniature surveillance, Tony had a lot of unexpected findings, such as seeing many young people "partying" there every other night.

"Should I retrieve the miniature surveillance, Sir?" J.A.R.V.I.S. asked.

"No need, it's fine where it is," Tony said. The reason he didn't dismantle the camera wasn't for watching people "party." It was to prevent unexpected incidents, like Peter losing his schoolbag.

"Have you found the man-eating monster?" Tony asked, taking a bite of a Burger King Whopper.

That's right, Tony was also investigating Klein.
