Silas didn't know what to say about the situation, but since it wasn't his business, he decided not to worry about it.
At that moment, Little Black said to Silas: "Master, regarding modern machinery, I suggest we create laser sword combat."
"So, can you actually make one?" Silas asked. That was the crucial point; what good was the idea if he couldn't execute it?
Little Black pondered for a moment, then replied: "I think I can try."
"Then I'll leave it to you, my most capable assistant." Silas showed his confidence in Little Black, entrusting the task to him.
Little Black immediately stood straight and saluted, indicating that he would absolutely succeed.
Silas put on his black ninja suit, ready to jump out the window again, when he heard a noise from Peter's room next door.
Silas immediately stopped, smoothly lay down in bed, and pulled the covers over himself. Little Black, by the desk, instantly vanished, melting into the shadows.
A red head peeked out from Silas's window—it was Peter, dressed in his Spider-Suit, ready to go out and fight crime.
"Is Silas sleeping so early?" Peter was a bit confused; usually the lights weren't out until almost eleven. It was barely eight o'clock, and turning in so early was highly unusual. Did he also confess and get rejected?
Peter shook his head, pushing the thought aside; he still had to go out.
When Silas went out, he had Big Black lie in his bed to feign sleep, but Peter, without the help of the Shadowkhan, could only use clothes for cover.
Hearing the movements outside the window cease, Silas opened his eyes and looked at Little Black, whose eyes were peeking out from under the desk.
Little Black winked at Silas, indicating Peter had left.
"I didn't expect Peter to be so diligent," Silas praised. He himself went out so early only for profit, while Peter did it simply to help others—truly worthy of being called the friendly neighborhood hero.
"Forget it. Since Peter is out, I'll stay home and get some rest. I ran around with Tony all night yesterday," Silas yawned and lay down to relax.
Late Night
"How was the training?" Norman asked Pace, who was standing beside him.
Pace sneered slightly, "They were trash." Norman had arranged two people for Pace: one for combat training, but due to Pace's physique, he instantly KO'd the fighter. The second was to teach Pace how to use the Green Goblin suit. Pace took an entire afternoon just to master controlling the glider.
"In that case, here is your target for tonight. Go take him out," Norman said, handing Pace a photograph.
"Haha!" Pace took the photo, put on the Green Goblin suit, and stepped onto the glider. "Wait for my good news."
"The location has been sent to the display screen on your hand. Go," Norman instructed.
Pace raised his arm and saw the red dot on the display screen. He laughed, "Don't worry! This red dot is about to disappear! Eee-hahaha!"
Swoosh!
Pace piloted the glider, flying out of the lab's opening and speeding towards his target.
Charity Gala
Tonight's charity gala was filled with influential figures, including the third-largest shareholder of Oscorp. The event was proceeding in an orderly fashion, with people chatting and toasting one another.
Boom!
The glass window instantly shattered! Pace, the Green Goblin, appeared, flying in mid-air.
"Hahahaha! The party is going great!" Pace looked around and quickly spotted his target.
Pace grabbed a Pumpkin Bomb from his waist. "This is the pumpkin my great lord is giving you all! Catch!"
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The Pumpkin Bomb rolled to a stop at the feet of the Oscorp shareholder, chiming as it spun.
Boom!
The bomb instantly exploded. The force of the blast tore through the floor, and the shareholder was vaporized, leaving nothing behind.
"Goodbye!" Pace laughed loudly, preparing to leave, when a red figure kicked him, sending him tumbling down.
The newcomer was Peter. Without a word, Peter rushed into the ruined gala and shouted, "Is anyone here?"
All that answered Peter were faint, weak groans of pain.
Snap! The steel bars on the roof were about to collapse.
"Crap!" Peter desperately wanted to save everyone, but clearly, he couldn't do it quickly enough.
Peter looked out the window, leaped out, and frantically shot webs between the damaged building and the one across the street, creating a huge webslinging net.
"Spider-Man is here!" Peter returned to the gala and began tossing the injured victims into the net one by one. In this situation, he couldn't worry about causing secondary injuries. If he didn't save them now, they would surely die.
Soon, only one person remained. The floor began collapsing rapidly. Peter hugged the victim tightly, rushed out, and landed safely on the web net.
"Thank you! Thank you!" The victim, who was farther from the explosion and not too badly hurt, was conscious, though his ears were ringing from the blast.
"No need to thank me." Peter set him down and looked at the injured people in the net, sighing deeply with relief.
Chirp!
Pace was flying again. When Peter had kicked him, his glider immediately caught him; otherwise, even if he hadn't been killed by the fall, he would have been crippled.
"Spider-Man," Pace mocked. "Did you gather them all together so I could bomb them more easily?"
With that, Pace pulled out another Pumpkin Bomb and threw it toward the people in the web net.
Peter quickly shot a web to catch the bomb and hurled it aside. Bang! Boom! The bomb exploded in mid-air, drawing the attention of pedestrians below.
"Oh my god," the pedestrians quickly called the police.
Clang!
Pace took the opportunity to fly next to Peter and slammed his fist hard at Peter's face.
Peter did not let down his guard. He lightly tilted his head to dodge. Boom! Pace's fist smashed into the glass window behind Peter, shattering it instantly.
The chance was now Peter's. He pressed his hands tightly against the wall, raised both feet, and kicked Pace forcefully in the abdomen, sending him flying backward.
Pace quickly regained control of his body, narrowly avoiding another fall.
"Why haven't you returned yet?" Norman messaged Pace.
Because of the armor, Peter's kick hadn't hurt Pace much. He rubbed his abdomen and replied to Norman, "I ran into the Spider-Man from the newspapers. I'm just playing with him."
"Spider-Man?" Norman immediately said, "Don't cause trouble. Finish the job, then come back right away."
"I know, I know, you're so annoying." Pace shut off the communicator. He smiled at the crowd below, "Goodbye, Spider-Man! I'll play with you next time."
Pace threw his remaining ten Pumpkin Bombs at the crowd below, then laughed maniacally and flew away.
Peter wanted to pursue, but seeing the crowd, he had no choice but to give up the chase. However, he was overwhelmed by so many bombs.
Just then! Several black figures leaped over, caught the ten bombs, and tossed them high into the sky.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
The Pumpkin Bombs exploded one after another, creating a unique kind of fireworks display.
