Something feels wrong. I feel it before I even open my eyes.
The ringing in my head, the heaviness behind my eyes… The weight I feel in my limbs…
For a few seconds, despite being conscious, I keep my eyes closed. Just to get a semblance of stability in my rather… confused body.
Why does my body feel like it's been dropped from a height? My head aches, and my tongue tastes like metal... and dust.
I try to move, but I freeze when I realise that I'm unable to.
That gets me to open my eyes.
My vision is blurry, but after a few blinks, it clears. All I see is dust. Broken walls, cracked pillars, bared up or completely exposed windows… And the edges of the space are swallowed in darkness.
Darkness that doesn't reach the middle of the room… where I'm at. Light filters in through shattered panes high above, cutting the space into long vertical shadows that create a rather depressing atmosphere.
This doesn't look like the wine factory. Or… Is it??
