Ethan;
The scene before me has me utterly rooted to the spot.
When I was heading back home this evening, I did not expect to see this…
And now that it's been laid out in front of me, I don't know how to feel.
The first thing I register is the smell. The aroma of food.
Cheese, and…. something sweet underneath it.
My eyes scan the space, and then I see it.
Glass.
Glass shattered into uneven shards along the floor.
There's food smeared against the wall in thick, messy streaks, and a container lies broken nearby. The golden crust that must have once looked appetising now looks… scattered.
Messy in a way that's far from inviting.
I look back up at Alpha Aurelian, who's standing in the middle of it all, and his eyes are on me.
He doesn't move a muscle. Doesn't even blink.
His stepmother, however, is the first to move.
"Oh," she says softly when she notices me, her voice shifting instantly from how vicious it just was to Aurelian.
