"You're so funny!" I hear a woman's voice say, but my soul pulls out of my body, and my knees buck when his voice follows.
"You've always said that."
My throat turns to sandpaper, and my vision instantly blurs.
The mark on my neck aches, and cold breaks out inside me.
"Adrien…?" I mutter in disbelief.
My legs start moving before my mind can catch up, and I stop beside an open door when I smell him.
A shuddered breath escapes me, and with my fingers shakily clutching onto the paper bag in my hands, I peek.
There he is, in a pink office shirt and black pants. His short black hair has been combed back and styled neatly, and his blue eyes look so… alive.
My heart clenches to a stop at the sight of him, and my fingers grab the edge of the wall in front of me.
It's… It's really him.
"Fancy seeing you here, Adrien. It's been so long!" The lady sitting before him says, and his smile grows.
