Chapter 108 - Chapter 108: Fate 326 - Normal Version -

Three years had passed. I don't know what discussions happened above, but in the end, it was officially concluded to be due to a meteorite again. Instead, that country received active support from the Church and aid from various nations, quickly stabilizing.

We also bought land in Fukuoka and built a large house where we all lived together. Taiga got a job again as an English teacher in Fukuoka, Sakura entered university, and Shirou continued to help people even after graduation.

Rider and Saber were helping with household chores and assisting Shirou along with the maid Sella. Illyasviel had now started going to school and seemed to have made some friends. Sella and Illyasviel were abandoned by the Einzbern family after the Holy Grail War ended, as support was cut off and there was no contact, so I used [Unlimited Blade Works] to turn them into human bodies while maintaining their existing circuits as much as possible. Because of that, it was now difficult to see them as homunculi.

Tohsaka Rin decided to graduate and enter the Clock Tower to learn and research magecraft. However, Rin didn't stay in England but lived in the newly built house in that country and commuted to the Clock Tower, knowing that I could teleport and taking advantage of it.

I was helping Shirou while acting as Rin's bus. Even though I had no mental damage thanks to the [Strong Mind] ability, I still felt guilty, so like in One Piece, I used the ability of the [Cook-Cook Fruit] to create ingredients, reducing the financial burden, and built houses for people without homes. Because of that, my [Cooking] ability rose to EX, and I gained the [Architecture] ability, raising it to A.

One day, suddenly, Shirou and Sakura seemed to have mustered the courage to speak in front of everyone, but the reaction was entirely lukewarm. Because we all already knew about their relationship.

"I've decided to live with Sakura now."

"As expected... I knew since Shirou was secretly going in and out of Sakura's room every late night."

When Rin said that, Shirou and Sakura were very embarrassed. Then Rider also spoke up.

"That's right. Sometimes, strange sounds from the next room made it hard to sleep. I understand they're both adults, but I wish they would keep it moderate."

"No way... could you hear it?"

"Yes, I could hear it very well!!"

At that, people laughed, and Shirou and Sakura blushed as if their faces would burst and bowed their heads. And I had been wondering why Rider was secretly visiting me often lately, and now I understood the circumstances.

We rearranged the room assignments. We designated a large room in the annex for Shirou and Sakura to live in, and we also moved our rooms a bit. Rin grumbled while moving her belongings.

"I wish my boyfriend would be a bit more proactive..."

"Rin, it couldn't be helped. I was busy, and you were very busy at the Clock Tower too."

"Ugh! Really! We haven't even kissed yet. It's been three years since we started dating! Learn a bit from Shirou!"

"Oh~ so that's what you wanted?"

I suddenly hugged Rin. Then Rin blushed and panicked.

"W-w-w-wait!"

"Huh? Why, don't you like it?"

"Well... there are still people around... later, in a place with a good atmosphere..."

"Okay."

A few days later, Rin said she had free time in three days, so I reserved a famous restaurant and hotel in England.

On the day, I went to the Clock Tower. Then I saw Rin arguing with someone.

"So hand over your Servant to me!"

"Why should I!"

"Because outstanding abilities and a handsome appearance suit our Edelfelt family more. I won't just ask you to hand him over. I'll provide funds to support the struggling Tohsaka family."

"We already have enough money!"

The person arguing with Tohsaka Rin was Luviagelita Edelfelt, the next head of the Edelfelt family, nicknamed 'Luvia'. Luvia was the heir to the Edelfelt family, a prestigious mage family from Finland in Northern Europe, and had a feud with the Tohsaka family due to past events.

She had blonde hair with multiple rolled buns, a Western aristocratic appearance, and was quite beautiful. She was around the same age as Rin and often bickered with her since they had many classes together. Because of that, she and I were acquainted. What was interesting about her was that despite her appearance, she practiced professional wrestling.

"Whoa~ everyone calm down."

When I stepped in to mediate, Luvia looked at me with a bright face and made an offer.

"Cassian~ you came again today. Please come to our family."

"Miss Luvia, I'm sorry, but I'm her Servant."

Luvia smiled and suddenly grabbed my hand.

"Calling me so formally~ you can just call me 'Luvia'. Cassian~"

Then Tohsaka Rin grabbed Luvia's shoulder and said with a frown.

"Hey! What are you doing to someone else's Servant!"

"Oh my, Miss Tohsaka, I was just greeting Cassian since it's been a while. Is there something strange about that~?"

Rin was taken aback by that.

"Everything is strange!"

Rin tried to grab and confront Luvia, but Luvia kept brushing off Rin's hands. Rin frowned and grabbed both of Luvia's hands, engaging in a strength contest.

"You really!!"

"Ara~ ara~ ara~"

Rin was using all her strength, but Luvia was smiling and pretending to be weak while receiving it. Angered by that, Rin challenged her to a duel.

"Change of plans!! The next class is self-defense!!"

"Oh my! Very well."

The two went to the duel grounds and fought; physically, Luvia was clearly superior. Tohsaka Rin managed to land some hits with Bajiquan, but it didn't seem very effective. In the end, it concluded with Luvia's victory. I went to them and used healing.

"Oh my! Cassian, you have many abilities too. You should really come to our family..."

"Be quiet!!!"

Rin was completely angry after losing the duel. I waited outside until Rin changed clothes and came out. Then suddenly, Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg approached from behind and greeted me. This person was the mentor of the Tohsaka family, the 'Jeweled Sword Elder'. The Jeweled Sword Elder was a rather sturdy-looking old gentleman.

"You must be Cassian. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too. I've heard a lot about you."

"I know you handled the Holy Grail. Thank you for saving humanity."

I didn't know how he knew, but as a great mage who can use the Second Magic, interference with parallel worlds, I thought he had his own methods.

"No. On the contrary, many people died, so I don't think it's something to be praised for."

"I see. But if you hadn't stopped it then, there would have been more sacrifices. It's worthy of praise."

"Thank you for thinking so."

"If you need help, talk anytime. I'll help if I can."

"Then, may I ask one favor..."

After finishing the conversation with the Jeweled Sword Elder, I saw Rin coming out after changing clothes.

"Well, I'll be going then. It was enjoyable. Have a good date."

"I enjoyed it too. See you next time."

The Jeweled Sword Elder disappeared like that, and Rin approached me, tilting her head and asking.

"Huh? I sense faint magical energy, what did you do?"

"No, we'll be late for the restaurant reservation time. Let's go."

"Okay."

Rin came out wearing a red one-piece dress and had her hair neatly tied in a ponytail. She also wore light makeup, showing off a mature beauty.

We arrived at the restaurant and enjoyed the course meal.

"Hmm... it's tasty, but honestly, I think it's not as good as the food Cassian makes."

That was natural. My [Cooking] ability was now EX.

"Hahaha, but the atmosphere is nice, right? In restaurants like this, enjoying the food in such an atmosphere also plays a part."

"That's true."

We enjoyed the meal deliciously, and then Rin asked me.

"Well... Cassian, don't you have to go back to your original world? You said you need to reproduce humanity."

"Later. I don't age because I'm immortal. So, time is abundant, and as long as I have magical energy, I can stay as long as I want."

Hearing that, Rin's expression brightened, and she was relieved.

"Phew~ I was worried. Thinking you might just leave. Lately, I've even had nightmares, dreams where no matter how much I call, Cassian doesn't appear."

Hearing her talk like this, I thought that now I might hold a very large position in Rin's heart.

"I promise. Even if I do return, I'll definitely talk to you first before going."

"Good! It's a promise."

We enjoyed the meal and moved to the hotel. We checked the reservation at the front desk and went up to the room.

"I'll shower first."

"Okay."

Rin went in to shower first. But after an hour passed since she entered the shower room and she still hadn't come out, I wondered if there was a problem, so I checked with [Observation Haki], and I sensed that she was washing normally without any issues.

"You took a long time?"

"Sorry, because of the side effects of the magic crest, I take strong medicine, so I was worried about body odor..."

"Really? Wait a bit, lie down on the bed."

Rin hesitated for a moment but did as I said and lay down on the bed. Rin had washed so vigorously out of fear that I might be displeased by the odor that her skin was red and heated. So, if left like this, her skin might get damaged, so I used healing first.

"You washed too hard. Don't do this next time; it harms your skin."

"Mhm, okay."

I approached Rin and smelled her. A slight herbal medicine scent came up, but I didn't think it was that unpleasant. Perhaps it's a familiar scent to people from that region?

"Hmm~ the scent of home~"

Thump!

"Ugh!"

As I kept smelling, Rin, perhaps embarrassed, hit my head and got angry.

"How long are you going to keep smelling!"

"Khm... I don't mind, but if Rin is struggling. Wait."

I used [Unlimited Blade Works] to adapt the magic crest to Rin's body without side effects.

"Done. Now you don't need to take medicine."

"What, really? Then you should have done it sooner. After all the suffering I went through."

"I didn't know you were suffering."

Hearing that, Rin frowned in agony, holding her head with both hands due to the wasted suffering.

"Ahh... damn! Anyway, shower quickly and come."

I also showered and came out, spent a good night with Rin, and returned to that country.

After that, three more years passed. During that time, Sakura, who graduated from university, and Shirou got married. Many people came to congratulate them due to Shirou's good deeds. Taiga was very sad because she still hadn't gotten married and was now over 30 years old.

Unlike in the original story, Shirou didn't travel around the world but married early and ran a machine repair shop with Sakura. Of course, they now had a house nearby and lived separately from us. Rider couldn't bring herself to follow Shirou due to the atmosphere and continued living with us.

I also set up a magic scroll shop, referencing otherworld fantasy items, and started making and selling scrolls that could be used without incantations, based on the crests I had seen over time.

In the Fate world, scrolls did exist, of course. But scrolls that perfectly activated a single spell like the ones I made were rare. That's because they were less reliable than magic crests, and in mage fights where every 0.1 second counts, mages with crests could cast spells just by extending their hands, so using disposable scrolls and carrying them around was cumbersome, leading to low demand and slow development.

But I competed with the variety of spells, which is a limitation of crests, and used [Material Manipulation] and [Control] abilities to reduce defect rates and increase reliability. Moreover, I made them about the size of a large card to improve portability and set competitive prices for sales.

The shop was set up near the Clock Tower in England and started doing business; at first, the reaction was lukewarm, but as word spread, it grew into a shop visited by many mages. Rider and Saber handled the sales, and I only handled production.

After some time, I started making a lot of money. Because the Clock Tower also recognized my scrolls and began using them as teaching materials. Because of that, I gained some standing in the Mage's Association.

It wasn't just business; on days off, I traveled around Europe with Rider and Saber, enjoying trips. When we went to Greece, Rider felt a bit sad thinking of her sisters.

After about two more years passed, Taiga also got married and left, and I married Tohsaka Rin. Now my name became Tohsaka Cassian. Rin said that since we were married, we should live separately, but I opposed it. Because Saber and Rider were not originally from this place and had nowhere to go.

"Honestly, we should take responsibility for Saber and Rider. And we need to help Illyasviel until she becomes independent."

"I didn't want this either, but the way Saber and Rider look at you isn't normal! And Illyasviel too, following you around every day calling 'Brother, brother' makes me uneasy."

After long persuasion, we decided to live together, and this time we used the annex.

Two more years passed, and it had been ten years since I came here. Now Illyasviel also started working at our shop. Illyasviel had high knowledge of magecraft, so she helped me produce scrolls.

"Cassian! Look at me!"

"Huh? Why?"

I was making scrolls when Rin called me, so I came out to the shop for a moment.

"We women talked... sigh... I'm going crazy. I feel like I'm the only one losing out. I've decided to accept Saber, so understand that."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah... I know Saber hasn't left for a long time because of you, but I can't leave her like this. You also don't seem to cross the line because of me, but it's not like you have no feelings at all."

"Sorry."

"If you're sorry, be good to me."

"Wait a bit."

I went into the shop and gave Rin a sword I had perfectly copied from the 'Jeweled Sword Zelretch' that I had asked the Jeweled Sword Elder to show me. It was possible because I had [Projection Magecraft] and [Infinite Creation] abilities. By actively using [Material Manipulation] and [Control] abilities, it wasn't just a copy using [Projection Magecraft] but a perfect replication as if it were another original.

"This is! The Jeweled Sword!"

"Yes, I made it as a gift."

Tohsaka Rin received the Jeweled Sword, teared up, and hugged me. It seemed she had been struggling a lot with this matter.

"Thank you~ I love you."

A few days later, Saber and I held a small wedding at a church. Due to the surrounding views, there weren't many attendees, but Saber didn't seem to mind. Saber and I ate delicious food at a hotel that day and spent our first night together.

The next day, Saber and I went to 'Glastonbury' in England. This was officially the place where King Arthur's tomb is located. Entering inside the large stone pillar, there was a small tomb.

"Here it is. The place where my tomb is said to be."

"Yes."

"I really wanted to see it."

We silently looked at the tomb for a while, then went outside and rested under a tree on the hill, spreading a cloth. Then, I saw a family that looked like tourists taking photos with their children near the tomb and leaving.

"Being summoned as a Servant and seeing your own tomb... I can't even imagine what kind of feeling that is."

"It's nothing special. But I'm just grateful that people remember me like this."

"I see."

After resting quietly for a while, Saber called me.

"Cassian."

"Huh?"

"Thank you. I'm grateful to Rin too. For creating good memories for me."

"What, now we have to create new memories together."

Saber smiled and said.

"Huhu, yes. Let's do that."
