I made some corrections to Detective Conan episode 16.
The holder of the genuine Black Star has been changed from Ran to Tomoko, and I removed the swapped part. Since only a few lines were changed, you probably don't need to read it again.

Conan tried to rush at me in anger, but I lightly blocked him with one hand and spoke, pretending to ponder.
"I see... I clearly told you to be careful of black and pills, but you ignored it. Plus, you abandoned the name Shinichi and are living as Conan, so the fortune showed you as dead. Now I understand."
Hearing that, Conan stopped rushing and made an excuse.
"Tch! My first impression of you wasn't good back then. I had no choice."
"Let's talk later. I'm working now. The Black Star might get stolen while I'm gone..."
Just then, a shout of 'Catch him!' came from inside the cruise ship.
"Damn it!"
I picked up Conan and moved quickly, but the police tried to catch me.
"There he is! Kaitou Kid!"
"Huh? What's this..."
I stopped for a moment and confronted the police. I looked down at Conan and said.
"Oh dear, it seems the phantom thief disguised himself as me and stole the Black Star. What a nuisance!"
Conan retorted sarcastically in turn.
"Sorry about that! For being a nuisance!"
As the standoff with the police continued, Inspector Nakamori stepped forward and shouted.
"Kaitou Kid, it's over now. Release the hostage and surrender quietly!"
"Inspector Nakamori, you're making a mistake. Kaitou Kid is probably already escaping."
"Shut up! I won't fall for it anymore!"
"This is insane... Fine, I surrender. Check my skin to see if it's a disguise or not."
I put Conan down and raised both hands. Then the police came and restrained my arms. Inspector Nakamori approached and tried to rip off the mask on my face.
"Finally caught you, phantom thief... Huh, it's real skin!"
Inspector Nakamori kept touching my face, as if he couldn't believe it. Of course, it wouldn't come off. It was my real face.
"See! I told you so."
Inspector Nakamori threw his radio on the floor and scolded me.
Thud!
"Damn, we've been had! What were you doing showing up now? You should be guarding the Black Star!"
I pointed at Conan and made an excuse.
"This kid suddenly ran out, so I came to find him."
"Even so, you should have left it to someone else. Aren't you being paid to do this job? This is ridiculous... Have some professionalism!"
He was venting his frustration at not catching the thief on me, which was absurd, but since he had a point, I didn't argue further. Just then, Ran and Sonoko came to me. Ran hugged me, tears streaming down her face.
"Sniff... I'm sorry... Because of me, the Black Star was stolen and Cassian had to suffer this humiliation..."
Pat pat.
I gently patted Ran's back as she hugged me to comfort her. Conan, perhaps thinking it was his fault, just watched with a bitter expression without saying a word.
Seeing that, Inspector Nakamori finally calmed down and apologized to me.
"Sigh... I apologize too. I went too far. I shouldn't have blamed others for the police's incompetence..."
"It's fine."
I said to the crying Ran.
"Don't worry, I'll definitely find the Black Star."
Hearing that, Inspector Nakamori asked me.
"Is there a way?"
"Yes. Please give me some space for a moment."
Actually, I had been tracking the phantom thief's location with [Observation Haki] since earlier. But since there were many eyes watching, I couldn't go directly, so I sat on the floor, drew a plausible onmyoji circle, and pretended to divine in the middle.
"Found it."
I immediately got up and ran to the back of the cruise ship. Seeing that, the police followed in a rush. Of course, Ran, Sonoko, and Conan followed too. Upon arriving at the back, I saw Kaitou Kid standing on the railing, smiling.
"Hahaha, onmyoji, I win this time, right? Still, it was unexpected. I didn't think you'd prioritize your girlfriend's request over your job."
"I'm a romantic, you see."
As I slowly placed my hand on the cane sword, Kaitou Kid saw it, raised one hand, showed the Black Star in his palm, and said.
"Whoa~ Calm down. Since today was fun, I'll return this."
Kaitou Kid threw the Black Star to me. Then he immediately unfolded a small hang glider.
"Let's meet again, onmyoji. Hahaha~"
With those words, he flew off into the dark sea. Seeing that, Inspector Nakamori quickly instructed the police.
"Quick, tell the helicopters to track Kaitou Kid!!"
"Um... about that, the radio to contact the helicopters, you..."
"Ah... Damn it!!!!"
They were incompetent police till the end.
I could have caught him right away using my abilities, but there were many eyes watching, and since he returned the Black Star, I let it be. We went back to the party hall, returned the Black Star to Tomoko, and I heard from Ran about what happened in the party hall.
In the party hall, Kaitou Kid disguised as me appeared and joined Ran's group, but Ran felt something was off and asked, 'Did you find Conan?' Then, Kaitou Kid disguised as me said Conan was in the bathroom and not to worry, and suddenly went to Tomoko, so Ran hurriedly grabbed him and asked the password 'Arthur', but Kaitou Kid disguised as me answered 'Conan', so she realized it was Kaitou Kid and tried to alert people, but suddenly the lights went out and the fake Black Star exploded, causing chaos, and in the meantime, he stole the Black Star from Tomoko and escaped.
"I see. Still, it's a relief. The Black Star is safe."
"I'm sorry, Cassian... I should have gone to find Conan, but I asked you who was working, and this happened..."
"No, don't worry about it."
While listening to the story, Kogoro smacked Conan on the head.
Thump!
"Ouch!"
"You brat! I knew you'd cause trouble someday."
"Conan! Do you know how worried I was? This is a ship, you could have fallen into the sea if something went wrong!"
Ran also stepped in and scolded Conan. I didn't think the scolding would last an hour, though.
Anyway, after safely finding the Black Star and enjoying a delicious dinner, we returned home.
The next day, after school, I went with Ran to play at the Mouri Detective Agency. It was to talk with Conan. I often saw Kogoro and Conan, but it had been a while since I visited the office, so I bought some gifts again. Since Ran felt too burdened, I just bought simple snacks and dinner for Kogoro, and some sweets for Conan.
"Welcome, son-in-law!"
Kogoro always greeted me with a smile when I came. I might have grown fond of Kogoro without realizing it.
"Hello, Detective Mouri."
I was chatting happily with Kogoro and Ran when Conan gave me a look, so I said to Ran.
"I promised to buy something for Conan. I'll be right back."
"Yeah, he said he'd buy me the new game that came out."
'This brat!'
When I looked at Conan, wondering when I said that, Conan stuck out his tongue and teased me. Hearing that, Ran tied on an apron and said.
"Then, I'll prepare the meal, so come back quickly~"
"Okay, I'll be right back."
Conan and I went outside, rode the bike together, and headed to a place that sells games.
Vroom vroom~
"So, you were attacked by those black-clad people, forced to take a pill, and that's how it happened?"
"Yeah, it seems like some big criminal organization."
"With a pill like that, people would buy it even for 100 million yen each... And they gave it to you."
"I think they didn't know much about the effects either. It seemed like they were testing it on me."
"I see. Besides me, who else knows?"
"My parents, Dr. Agasa, and Hattori Heiji."

Conan said without hesitation.
"Give up on Ran."

"I've known Ran since we were kids. I've known her longer. So give up."
"Let me ask one thing. What's your relationship with Ran?"
"That, that's..."
At my words, Conan couldn't answer.
"Ran and I are already dating, and both her parents acknowledge and bless us. Plus, according to onmyoji divination, we're bound by a marital fate in the future. But you're just a childhood friend, right? Actually, you should be the one to give up. Am I wrong?"

Conan and Ran really had no relationship other than being childhood friends.

I took Conan back on the bike and headed to the Mouri Detective Agency.

Conan grabbed my clothes and shook me.

Conan shook me madly.

"Really?"
"Yes."
Hearing that, Conan stopped shaking me. Actually, no matter what crazy thing Conan did from behind, we couldn't crash. Even if we did crash, only Conan would get hurt, not me. I just enjoyed teasing him.
We arrived at the Mouri Detective Agency like that.
"You're back quickly. But why did you buy so many games?"
"Hahaha, I wanted to borrow some to play too."
"Really? Well then... More importantly, let's eat. I put some effort into it this time."
Ran placed many dishes on the table. Seeing that, Kogoro exclaimed in admiration.

I smiled and said to Kogoro.

Everyone started eating, and I took a bite of the food Ran made.
"Oh~ It's delicious!"
At those words, Ran's expression brightened.
"Wow~ I'm relieved. Since Cassian is good at cooking, I was worried it might not suit your taste."
"How could that be? It's cooking made with love."
At that, Ran's face turned red.
"Oh dear~"

At that harmonious scene, Conan had the same constipated expression as always.
