Chapter 34 - 34 Eternal Adamant

Zayne began chanting the incantation of a Forbidden Spell. As a Forbidden Spellcaster, golden light started to flicker within his body. The radiance was brilliant yet gentle, dyeing his entire figure in gold.

Streams of golden light poured out of him without pause. With every surge, Zayne's face grew a shade paler.

The golden glow before him spun at extreme speed, colliding again and again, until it finally condensed into a dazzling golden spear.

An ancient and mysterious aura radiated from the spear from within and without. The tip gleamed with the unique cold sharpness of Eternal Adamant, as if it could pierce any defense in existence.

Zayne raised his hand and grasped the spear. A flash of resolve crossed his eyes as he swung his arm forward. With a piercing whistle, the golden spear shot straight toward Isaac.

"[Forbidden Spell Eternal Adamant: The Forbidden Spellcaster sacrifices all metallic elements within the body to condense a spear forged from Eternal Adamant. It pierces all things and shatters all defenses.]"

Since obtaining this Forbidden Spell, Zayne had never used it. It was a single target technique with a severe casting delay, far less practical than Worldbane Thunderfall or Hellfire Armageddon.

But against an enemy as absurdly tough as Isaac, Zayne finally remembered this spell.

When Isaac saw the golden spear hurtling toward him, a flicker of uncertainty flashed across his face. He could not read the nature of that attack.

Still, he chose to trust his seven star refined rare grade armor.

Isaac tightened his grip on the battle axe and pushed the defensive power of the Divine Radiance Black Armor to its limit, preparing to tank the blow head on.

The armor shone even brighter, forming what looked like a luminous barrier that completely enveloped Isaac.

At the instant the golden spear made contact with the armor, there was no deafening explosion and no earth shaking shockwave.

It was like a silver needle puncturing a balloon.

The spear broke through at a single point. The Divine Radiance Black Armor that Isaac took such pride in offered no resistance at all and was instantly pierced.

In the blink of an eye, the light barrier shattered. The armor and Isaac's body were both pierced through front and back, leaving a bloody hole.

The wound was not large, barely fingertip sized, and not immediately fatal. Yet Isaac's vision swayed as his mind reeled.

"Impossible. How is this possible."

Disbelief was written all over his face. The Divine Radiance Black Armor had followed him through countless battles over the years. It had never suffered damage this severe.

In the moment he lost focus, Zayne was already charging in with Starfall Skytrace.

With Sacrificial Blade Technique stacked to ninety nine layers, every strike was lethal. Isaac was driven back again and again. His thoughts were in chaos, leaving him unable to mount an effective defense.

Soon, he realized something even more terrifying.

Throughout the entire fight, blood flames had been burning across Zayne's body. That meant Zayne had been continuously burning his life force through Forbidden Spells.

But after burning for so long, why was Zayne still perfectly fine.

"You. Are you really immortal."

Shock and fury twisted Isaac's expression. What kind of monster had Dano provoked this time.

Zayne did not answer. He simply raised his hand and unleashed another Forbidden Spell.

"Forbidden Spell Worldbane Thunderfall."

The familiar Abyssborn Thunderfall crashed down once more. Zayne attacked with full force, without holding back.

Though the Divine Radiance Black Armor could still resist the Abyssborn Thunderfall, it was already damaged. The thunder poured in through the cracks, wreaking havoc inside Isaac's body.

Isaac was furious and alarmed. If this continued, he would truly die at Zayne's hands.

Yet Isaac was a survivor forged in seas of blood and corpses. Faced with death, he did not panic. Instead, his mind grew calmer.

Regaining his composure, Isaac swung his battle axe and once again forced Zayne into a disadvantage. Each strike carried overwhelming power.

Zayne did not hesitate. He immediately cast Eternal Adamant again. Another golden spear shot toward Isaac.

This time, Isaac did not dare to take it head on. A sharp glint flashed in his eyes as his figure blurred, his speed surging explosively.

"Shadow Dash."

His speed increased drastically. It was hard to imagine that such a massive body could move so fast.

Leaving behind an afterimage, Isaac dodged the golden spear entirely. The speed was so extreme that before Zayne could even react, Isaac had already appeared right in front of him.

"Falling Sun Cleaver."

An axe shadow flashed like lightning. A chill brushed Zayne's neck.

His head flew high into the air, then rolled across the ground, his face frozen in shock. Only a headless body remained standing in place.

Isaac panted heavily. Though he had killed Zayne with a single strike, that blow had exhausted all of his remaining trump cards.

"Hah. I cut off your head. There is no way you survive this."

He finally let out a breath of relief. Only he knew how close he had come to dying in that battle.

Just as Isaac believed it was over, a star lit blade suddenly pierced through his heart without warning, destroying the life within him.

Isaac twisted his head in disbelief. The battle had just ended, and he had completely let his guard down.

The one who struck him was none other than Zayne's headless body.

After impaling Isaac's heart, the headless corpse walked over to the fallen head, picked it up, aligned it briefly, and placed it back onto the neck.

"You are strong. Unfortunately, you were still careless."

Zayne calmly withdrew the blade. Blood poured from the wound, signaling that Isaac's life was reaching its end.

At death's door, Isaac stared at Zayne with rage and shock.

"Careless my ass. You really are immortal."

Once he understood that truth, Isaac knew his death was not unjust. Facing an immortal monster with such terrifying combat power, dying like this was inevitable.

After all, who would ever imagine that an enemy whose head you had severed could walk up behind you and stab you through the heart.

Isaac said nothing more. Forcing his body to turn, he looked toward a direction within the black market, his eyes filled with worry.

"Dano. Run. Run fast. Monster."
