His eyes widened in disbelief and astonishment.
She suddenly lifted her dress and began to step off the altar.
"Celine, where the hell do you think you're going?" He hissed, trying to keep the rage in his voice down so others wouldn't hear but she ignored him.
He would have grabbed her and forced her to say the damn vows if thousands of people weren't watching, but even though she had stepped down, he didn't believe she would truly refuse to marry him.
"Celine, get back here." He called in a low voice again and she stopped but he only saw her glance at Lillian who was sitting in the front rows before, under the shocked gazes of everyone, she rose her skirt and ran away from the hall.
Murmurs of amazement and confusion rang among the crowd.
Celine didn't care anymore, not about Ian's threats, nor her own father's.
She had no idea where she was running to nor did she care, she just wanted to get as far away from this cursed wedding as she could.
She knew Ian would send people to find her and her father would too, she would be forced into marrying him whether she liked it or not, at most they would apologize to the crowd and give some fake explanation that she had cold feet and that was why she ran, and then she would be forced to say the vows and become Ian's wife so she had to get away.
Many people turned to look at her when they saw a bride running away, they would probably be wondering why a woman in a wedding dress was running like a deranged person.
She knew Ian wouldn't let this slide, immediately she ran out of the hall he would send his men to come after her.
If she ran through a crowded place, it would make it easier for Ian's people to find her, so she instantly changed her mind from going though the hotel lobby.
She ran through corners and corners in the hotel trying to find a hiding place. Ian had only let her leave that hall because people were watching but If he caught her, he would threaten her with anything and everything until she gave in.
Thinking about Ian's threats she almost stopped short.
Would she lose her career for this? Ian would ruin her without a doubt.
Celine quickly pushed back the negative thoughts that might continue to hold her back when she suddenly reached a dead end.
From behind she could hear distant voices and footsteps.
"We're looking for a bride, did she run by here?"
Shit, Ian's people worked fast, they were already after her.
Another huge wave of panic washed through her. Her breath began to come in heavy and she frantically looked around for somewhere to escape before they'd catch up to her when her eyes landed on golden doors on what looked like a private exclusive elevator.
It was a very prestigious hotel, so she knew the elevator before her would most likely lead to someone's private suite but she was helpless right now with nowhere to go.
When the footsteps behind her began to echo even closer, she abandoned every thought and rushed towards the elevator, she breathed a sigh of relief when the elevator opened at the touch of a button without actually needing a private swiping key card, she immediately jumped into the elevator and it shut automatically with her inside.
When she was finally alone in the space, she let herself relax, breathing to let the anxiety that was burning through her settle when the elevator dinged it's arrival.
It's doors opened to a grand space that made her eyes widen with awe.
As an actress she'd seen many luxurious spaces, but none with such sheer class and specific themed design as the one she was currently looking at.
With slow hesitant steps she walked out of the elevator, hoping fervently that the owner of this suite wouldn't be inside.
She was enveloped in the sheer opulence of the space the moment she entered. The floor to ceiling windows framed breathtaking views of the city skyline, a fully round moon sitting majestically in the sky casting warm glows through the windows. From this height it almost felt like the moon was a next door neighbor.
Which made Celine suspect that this was a presidential suite.
Only presidential suites could enjoy the highest floors and such exclusive views.
The whole space held on a colored scheme of muted cozy brown with a few sprinkles of color here and there. Rich dark wood paneling adorned the walls complemented by plush cream colored carpets that felt like silk beneath her feet.
The air was filled with the subtle scent of freshly cut flowers, their delicate petals arranged artfully in a crystal vase on the elegant console table.
Her gaze fell on the stunning inner room separated from the living area by sleek glass sliding doors that moved automatically as she came close.
The bedroom space was even more luxurious, a neat king sized bed sat elegantly with dark sheets covering it.
The whole space was dimly lit, and Celine peeked into the inner room to be sure no one as currently here.
When she took in the neatly luxurious empty space without finding a living soul around, she relaxed and let out a breath.
The entire place was still and completely silent.
"It's good there's no one here, I'll leave an apology note for barging in, I just need to avoid Ian's guards."
Feeling more relieved she walked around the suite, with the perfect lavishness of the space she could guess this was the most expensive suite in the entire hotel.
She was suddenly reminded of what was supposed to be her own honeymoon suite for tonight and instantly felt another wave of panic settling in.
She thought about her career, her fans who'd been so happy for her when her wedding was announced, the countless projects she had signed into which would commence after her honeymoon, would she be losing it all?
Deciding to forget about her troubles, Celine walked around the suite to distract herself.
She entered the spacious bedroom letting her hands glide over the sheets.
Exhaustion washed over her and without resisting the urge, she threw off her shoes and laid on the bed curling into herself.
Just when she was beginning to drown in the silence, she suddenly heard movement which made her go stiff.
'Is someone here?' she wondered.
The movement became steady, firm footsteps into the room she was currently in.
In her fear, she stayed silently still pretending to be asleep and the footsteps began to come closer and closer...
