Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: The Door Wasn’t Locked

When Stelle arrived at Acting Grand Master Jean's home, it was somewhat unexpected.

It wasn't that Acting Grand Master Jean's house was particularly unique, but rather the person who appeared at her doorstep.

"Lisa, why are you here?" Jean also walked over to the purple figure, surprised.

"I heard you didn't come home last night, so I thought I'd come over tonight to see you… I didn't expect such a pleasant surprise." The woman called Lisa spoke in a lazy and charming voice.

"What a Little Cutie. I didn't expect there to be such a treasure in Mondstadt City." Being stared at like that, Stelle even felt her whole body go soft and tingly.

"Hello, I'm Stelle." Stelle subtly assessed the other party.

She looked like a witch, and her attire seemed strangely alluring, but compared to Rosaria, it was still a minor difference.

A purple Vision hung from her chest, indicating she was an Electro element user, which Stelle had probably never seen before.

"I'm the Knights of Favonius's Librarian, Lisa. Little Cutie, would you consider being my assistant?"

"Librarian…?" Stelle looked at the other party in surprise.

She had thought Lisa was some kind of Archmage in the Knights of Favonius; she didn't expect her true profession to be completely unrelated to combat.

"What's wrong, Little Cutie? Is it very surprising?" Lisa smiled inscrutably, her gaze softly fixed on Stelle.

"Ah, not really… After all, Sister looks like a very knowledgeable person." Stelle laughed awkwardly, rubbing her head.

"Mm~ Little Cutie has such a sweet tongue, Sister likes it very much." Lisa's smile didn't change, and she couldn't help but lean closer to Stelle again.

"I really like it, you know." Lisa looked into Stelle's golden eyes and emphasized it again.

"Tha-thank you…"

"Alright, let's not stand outside. Let's go in and talk." Jean saw the slightly strange atmosphere between Lisa and Stelle and quickly interrupted, taking out her keys.

Opening the door, the three walked inside.

Jean's real home was not here, of course; she had only bought this house for the convenience of going to work at the Knights of Favonius.

Compared to Anber's, her place was larger, but the layout wasn't too different from Anber's, indicating that Mondstadt's architectural style was quite consistent from inside to out.

Jean motioned for Lisa and Stelle to sit down, while she went to make coffee with two cups.

"Little Cutie, did you just arrive in Mondstadt recently?" Lisa rested her chin on one hand, smiling as she asked Stelle.

"Yes, I'm with Lumine." Stelle was slightly unaccustomed to Lisa's way of speaking, and that… gaze, as if she wanted to devour her.

Among all the women she had met, she felt that Lisa was the most dangerous one.

This danger wasn't literal, but rather in her attitude towards her; she always felt that if she interacted with her too much, she might truly not be able to handle it.

"Ah~ I see, two Little Cuties traveling together, how nice. But it would have been even better if I had met you sooner…" Lisa sighed with a hint of regret.

If she had known such a person had come to Mondstadt City, she wouldn't have spent all her time reading in the Library.

Even she, in this situation, still had quite a lot of motivation.

"Here, coffee." Jean brought two cups of coffee to the two of them, placing one in front of each.

"Thank you, Jean."

"Thank you." Stelle actually didn't like coffee much, but Jean seemed to have considered this, as the coffee seemed to have Milk added, and a milky aroma wafted from the cup.

"Jean, did you go out with this child last night?" Lisa asked curiously.

She understood Jean's daily routine; logically, she shouldn't have come into contact with Stelle.

But today, she suddenly brought Stelle home, which was clearly a bit off.

Of course, if it were her, seeing such a child and bringing her home wouldn't require much thought, but Jean was different after all.

"Yes, it was…" Jean hesitated. She didn't know whether to tell Lisa about Stormterror.

"If it's difficult, you don't have to tell me. Looking at you, I estimate I probably can't help much anyway." Lisa smiled slightly.

She understood Jean quite well and naturally knew Jean's way of handling things. If she was hesitating like this, she shouldn't press her.

"No, actually, the matter is already nearing its end. If all goes well, the Dragon Disaster will be completely resolved." Jean shook her head, also revealing some related information to Lisa: the matter they were busy with was related to the Dragon Disaster.

"Oh? Is that so… Little Cutie also contributed, right?" Lisa looked at Stelle, who was sitting opposite her, again.

"I just did a little insignificant work." Stelle smiled shyly, not taking credit.

If it were before, she would have been happy to joke about such questions, but now that her constitution had problems, she naturally spoke much more cautiously.

Who knows, someone might take a joke seriously in the future and do something terrible.

"Is that so? Little Cutie doesn't need to be so modest."

"Yes, Miss Stelle actually helped us a lot." Jean also nodded.

Putting everything else aside, just defeating the Cryo Hilichurl Armor King could already be considered a great help to the Knights of Favonius. During the current Dragon Disaster, the Knights of Favonius were short-staffed everywhere, so they simply couldn't spare any attention for the snowy mountains.

The three chatted casually. Originally, Lisa had only come to check on Jean's condition and didn't intend to stay long, but after seeing Stelle, she seemed to have forgotten the time.

It was very late when Lisa reluctantly got up, preparing to leave.

Before leaving, she repeatedly told Stelle that if she had nothing to do, she was welcome to come and sit in the Library.

Stelle naturally agreed. Thinking about it carefully, she had indeed never been to the Library, and a lot of knowledge about this world should be found there, right?

She could indeed go sometime in the future when she had the time.

"Lisa seems to really like you. She rarely talks to people for so long." Back inside, Jean said to Stelle with a smile.

However, she then felt that this seemed natural; there should be very few people in this world who wouldn't like Stelle, right?

"Is that so, haha…" Stelle chuckled dryly. She knew very well that Lisa was like this entirely because of her succubus-like constitution.

"Alright, I'll take you to see your room. Although that guest room isn't usually occupied, I clean it every day, so it's fine to move in directly now, it's just…" Jean suddenly paused here.

"What's wrong?" Stelle asked, puzzled.

"The door lock seems to be broken, and I haven't had time to find someone to fix it, so the door might not close tightly."
