Everyone's gaze snapped toward Jane. Even Sunless stiffened slightly at her sudden reaction.
"You know something about the Land of Dragons?" Mira asked cautiously.
Jane opened her mouth, then stopped. A flicker of hesitation crossed her eyes before she shook her head. "No. I just… don't like places with 'dragon' in the name. Bad feeling, that's all."
No one believed her.
The brief silence that followed was heavy, loaded with unspoken questions. When Jane refused to elaborate, their attention slowly shifted back to Jennifer, waiting for her to explain herself.
Jennifer straightened and crossed her arms.
"I'm not ignorant of the dangers," she said calmly. "Dragons. Dragonmen. Mutated beasts. That's why we're not diving deep into their territory. We'll operate at the outer perimeter. Quick in. Quick out. We take what we need and leave."
She pulled out her phone, tapped a few times, then slid it onto the table.
The screen lit up.
A video began to play.
