"Yes, commander!" everyone answered, with the exception of Sunless and Sonia, since the whole thing was a little unexpected for them.
However, everyone's voice was filled with a mix of malice, bitterness, and a bunch of other complex emotions.
"Move out. Sonia and Angeline take the first back watch."
Just as Jennifer gave the cold order, Sunless calmly interrupted her. "She's not a martial warrior yet. I'll handle it and her watch."
Jennifer spared him a glance, then her gaze shifted to Sonia. After some deliberation, she nodded.
Sonia wanted to refute Sunless' offer, but she couldn't voice out her words when Sunless shot her a stern glance.
