Rain's POV:
I feel something soft underneath me, so impossibly soft that for a fleeting second I think I might still be dreaming, like I've been laid down on a cloud that dips gently beneath my weight and cradles every aching part of me.
The mattress breathes under me, slow and quiet, the sheets cool against my skin, faintly scented with detergent and the lingering woody smell that always seems to cling to this house, like the walls themselves exhale it.
My body feels heavy, limbs slow and distant, like I'm floating somewhere between consciousness and sleep, suspended in a quiet that feels almost peaceful.
I feel someone's presence, thick fingers taking my pants off, the warmth of another body cutting through that soft haze, and my eyes snap open as the fog is ripped away in an instant, my heart lurching hard against my ribs as I struggle against the familiar touch that sends a jolt through my nerves before my mind can even catch up.
