Rain's POV:
My eyes feel heavy, lids dragging down like wet curtains, and I'm just about to drift away, wrapped in the warmth beneath my blanket, when I hear a huge boom.
An earth-shattering split. It's not just a sound. It's a force.
The metal in the windows rattles loudly, shrieking against its frame like something trying to claw its way inside.
The bed trembles beneath me.
Lolo jumps from my arms and is on the floor in seconds, hopping and terrified, claws scraping against the wood.
"Jesus! Lolo come here!" My voice cracks, high and thin.
But in no time he's already at the door, scratching at the bottom, trying to find his way out.
His tiny body thuds against the wood in panic.
I was already panicking and then I hear another ear-splitting eruption, this one closer.
The walls shudder.
Something metallic clangs in the distance.
I start banging on the door.
"Dane! Dane! Dane what is going on?" My fists hit the wood again and again, the sound dull and useless.
