Chapter 25 - Father-in-Law, Haven’t You Eaten Yet? Then Take Another Swing From Me!

Chapter 25 — Father-in-Law, Haven't You Eaten Yet? Then Take Another Swing From Me!

BOOM!

The sky, still choked with smoke and storm clouds, shuddered violently as the enormous blue dragon slowly descended from above.

Kaido's mountain-sized body crashed into the ruins with a cataclysmic impact, unleashing a wave of dust that swept across all of Dressrosa.

He didn't even glance at Yamato, who now lay sprawled within the massive crater—completely drained of strength.

His eyes, burning like twin infernal lanterns, pierced through the haze. They locked onto the one figure who hadn't moved an inch since the battle began—Akira.

The dragon lowered his colossal claws, taking heavy steps toward the crater's edge.

His gaze caught the battered Hassaikai lying beside Yamato. Kaido's massive head dipped, and his jaws closed around the spiked club.

CLANG!

He lifted it effortlessly, then tossed it aside near his feet with a dismissive flick.

Akira didn't move.

He stood perfectly still, one hand gripping Murakumogiri, his expression calm and unflinching—as if he were merely an observer to the chaos unfolding before him.

"Wororororororo…"

Kaido's laughter rumbled low, like rolling thunder.

He knew his dragon form's weakness all too well: overwhelming destructive power paired with massive size—and that size made him a glaringly easy target.

For someone like Yamato, that form had been sufficient.

But for a man like Akira—whose strength now rivaled or even surpassed his own All-Stars—that form would be nothing but a liability.

Three days ago, on Onigashima, their "training duel" had proven it beyond question.

"Then…"

Black and crimson lightning crackled across his scales.

"Hybrid Form!!"

BOOOOOOM——!!!

A terrifying surge of energy erupted from Kaido's body!

The thousand-meter-long dragon coiled in midair, shrinking as his form twisted within a blinding flash of light.

In the next instant, blue scales melded with flesh—arms thick as boulders, twin horns curved skyward, and muscles pulsing with raw power.

Standing more than twenty meters tall, the Dragon-Human Hybrid form of Kaido—the apex of his might—towered over the shattered city.

He rested Hassaikai casually on his shoulder and began striding toward Akira.

Each step shook the earth.

The pressure alone distorted the air around him, and his looming shadow swallowed Akira whole.

"Worororororo…"

A monstrous grin stretched across his face.

He lowered his head, gazing down at the man below him. His crimson eyes gleamed with arrogance… and curiosity.

"Boy," Kaido's voice rumbled like a thunderclap, "It's only been a few days since I last saw you…"

"Tell me—have you gotten any stronger?"

He lifted Hassaikai, pointing the massive spiked club at Akira.

"If not—"

"This fight will end very quickly."

"Worororororo!!"

His killing intent surged, twisting the very air.

But amid that suffocating pressure—

Akira smiled.

He slowly raised his head, meeting Kaido's gaze without fear.

"Father-in-law," he said calmly.

"Don't worry."

"The surprise I've prepared for you this time… will definitely satisfy you."

"…Huh?"

Kaido's grin faltered slightly.

"Surprise?"

"What the hell are you—"

He never finished the sentence.

His pupils constricted to pinpoints.

FWOOOOSH——!!!

From Akira's back, a pair of massive black wings unfurled—each stretching several meters wide, wreathed in roaring black flames.

The temperature spiked violently.

Those weren't ordinary flames. They were divine fire—the sacred flame of the Lunarians.

"L-Lunarian blood?!"

Kaido's words trembled out of him.

His eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at those dark wings beating behind Akira.

"Impossible…"

"That's King's race! How—how can you—"

But his shock had only begun.

Crack. Crack.

The sound of shifting bone echoed through the battlefield.

From Akira's forehead, two sharp horns pierced through his skin—twisting upward like the signature horns of the Oni race… just like Kaido's own.

Kaido froze completely.

The grin vanished from his face. His eyes stretched wide, pupils shaking violently.

The massive fingers gripping Hassaikai began to tremble.

Eighteen years of memory crashed into his mind at once—

That battlefield long ago.

The boy he'd found abandoned among corpses.

A frail, powerless human orphan.

He had brought that boy home on a whim.

And now—

That same boy stood before him with the black wings of a Lunarian and the horns of an Oni.

"What… what the hell is this?!"

Kaido's mind went blank.

None of it made sense.

It couldn't make sense.

"Worororororo… a surprise, you say?"

Akira tilted his head, smiling faintly.

"Father-in-law,"

He bared his teeth, flashing a sharp grin that glimmered coldly under the flickering firelight.

"Did you really think…"

"My surprises ended there?"

Kaido's brow furrowed.

A terrible, instinctive unease slithered into his gut.

Before he could react—

The air began to tremble again.

BOOM——!!!

Akira's roar tore through the heavens!

"Divine Manifestation Technique!!"

"Fourth Layer, Mid Stage!!"

"Tenfold Amplification — Activate!!!"

His body began to transform. Bones cracked like thunder, muscles swelling beneath his skin as if mountains were rising from within him!

Five meters.

Ten.

Fifteen.

Twenty!

The growth didn't stop.

"Wh—What kind of monster is this?!"

Far away among the ruins, Doflamingo had barely crawled out of the rubble when the sight before him froze the blood in his veins.

The black-winged, horned man… was still growing!

Twenty-five meters!

Thirty!!

BOOOOM——!!!

Akira's massive foot slammed into the ground, shaking the entire island.

Dressrosa trembled as if the earth itself was crying out in fear.

Dust billowed skyward, rocks exploded outward, and the air itself shuddered beneath the pressure radiating from him.

At last, the transformation stopped.

Thirty meters tall.

He stood like a war god risen from the depths of hell—

black flame wings spread wide across his back, curved Oni horns piercing the sky, and a muscular body forged in darkness and fire, gleaming like molten iron.

Kaido froze.

For the first time in his life—

he had to look up to meet someone's gaze.

The so-called Strongest Creature in the World, a ten-meter titan himself, now looked small—insignificant—before the thirty-meter figure towering over him.

"Vajra Body Protection Technique!!"

"First Layer — Double Defense! Activate!!"

BZZZZZT——!!!

A radiant golden aura enveloped Akira's body, forming a shimmering barrier like divine crystal armor. The light flickered and bent the air, signaling the true beginning of this battle.

Golden energy—barely visible to the naked eye—wrapped around his enormous frame, radiating sacred heat.

"Fuu…"

Akira slowly lowered his head.

From his fiery eyes, he looked down from the heavens, his gaze piercing the vibrating air between them.

Then, in a deep, resonant voice that seemed to echo from the depths of hell, he spoke—calmly, yet each word rolled across Dressrosa like a quake.

"Father-in-law."

"Now…"

"Are you satisfied… with my surprise?"

"..."

Kaido didn't answer.

His face stiffened. Every muscle in his jaw trembled violently.

Shock.

Confusion.

Fury.

And buried deep beneath them all—

something he had never felt before.

Fear.

"This… can't be…" Kaido muttered through clenched teeth.

"It's… impossible!!"

He could feel it.

So clearly that it made his entire body quiver.

From Akira's towering form radiated an overwhelming power—

a presence vast and suffocating, like an ocean pressing down from the sky.

"Just three days!!"

"Only three damn days!!!"

"How the hell did he become this strong again?!"

Kaido's mind screamed in disbelief.

Three days ago, on Onigashima—this boy had only stood nine meters tall!

Back then, Kaido had crushed him with a single strike—Conqueror of Three Worlds: Ragnaraku.

And now?

Thirty meters?!

Had he eaten a Sea King whole?!

ROAAAAAARRRR!!!

Kaido's furious roar shook the heavens.

Driven by rage—and pride—he no longer cared how Akira had changed.

He knew only one thing:

He refused to be overshadowed by his own son-in-law!

"Conqueror's Haki!!!"

Kaido unleashed it without restraint!

Black and crimson lightning exploded outward, rending the sky and cracking the ground.

But before the storm could reach Akira—

BOOM——!!!

An equally vast surge of power erupted from Akira's body!

His own Conqueror's Haki—pure and unyielding—roared into existence, colliding head-on with Kaido's!

The heavens split apart!

BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOM!!!

Lightning and storm clashed violently above them, two supreme wills colliding in a battle that made the earth scream.

Yet this time—

The result was different.

"Urgh—!!"

Kaido's eyes widened in disbelief.

His pressure slammed against an invisible wall—immovable, solid, unyielding!

Akira's aura didn't just withstand his—it pushed back!

It tore through Kaido's dominance like a blade through air!

"No way…!"

Kaido struggled to stay on his feet, his eyes wide and wild.

"My Conqueror's Haki… can't overpower him anymore?!"

"Three days ago—it wasn't like this!!"

"What the hell did he do?!"

Nothing made sense anymore.

How could this traitor, this mere upstart, gain such power in only a few days?

This strength… it defied everything Kaido believed about the world.

But Akira wasn't interested in explaining.

He smiled.

"Father-in-law!"

"This fight is just getting started!!"

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!!

Each step shook the ground like an earthquake.

Cracks spidered through the land; the air screamed beneath his power.

In a blink, Akira stood before Kaido.

"Withering Divine Art!!"

BWOOOOOM——!!!

A pulse of unseen energy erupted from Akira's core, expanding in a ten-meter radius.

Kaido, caught within its reach, stiffened.

"What—?!"

He raised Hassaikai to defend, but suddenly—his body faltered.

His strength, speed, and endurance… all plummeted in an instant!

"Wha—What the hell is this?!"

Kaido looked down at himself, panic flashing across his face.

He didn't understand what was happening—

But before he could move—

"100% Critical!"

"Triple Damage Multiplier!"

"Double Strike!"

"Twelvefold Damage Output — Activate!!"

All of Akira's energy gathered into Murakumogiri.

"DRAGON BREAKER SLASH!!!"

BOOOOOOM——!!!

The slash tore through the sky like divine lightning, splitting the heavens themselves!

"Damn it—!!"

Kaido didn't have time to think.

Instinctively, he raised Hassaikai to block—

CLAAAAANG——!!!

The sound of metal clashing split the air, followed by two near-simultaneous explosions!

CRACK——!!!

Kaido felt an impossible force tear through his weapon—

through his arm—

and into his entire body!

"Ghhh—!!!"

Blood burst from his mouth!

The webbing between his thumb and finger split open; his right arm's scales peeled away, and agony shot straight to his bones!

The "Strongest Creature in the World"—the mountain-like titan of twenty meters—

was slammed into the ground like a nail under a divine hammer!

BOOOOOOM——!!!

The earth split open.

Kaido's massive body embedded halfway into the ground, rubble and dust exploding outward.

Silence.

Every sound vanished.

Doflamingo stared blankly, his mind utterly shattered.

Yamato stood frozen, her eyes wide in disbelief.

And above them—

Akira.

The thirty-meter giant, cloaked in flame and thunder, slowly lowered Murakumogiri.

Black fire still danced along its blade, intertwined with threads of red lightning.

He took a deep breath, then raised it again—preparing another strike.

From above the silent battlefield, his voice rolled like dark laughter laced with mockery.

"Father-in-law…"

"Didn't you eat today?"

His grin curved, cold and cruel.

"What's wrong?"

"Can't even hold your weapon steady?"

He lifted the massive naginata high, lightning and fire swirling together in his wake.

"Then…"

"Allow me to feed you—another slash!!"
