"I don't know," Cipher admitted, wiping sweat from his forehead. "We have to try. If it doesn't work... well, I guess you'll just have to drive your ship on land."
"No problem!" The woman in the crimson captain's coat laughed, slapping her thigh. "I'll sail across the asphalt! Galloping across a steel land sounds like a rare adventure!"
"Can that even be done?"
"Of course it can!" She grinned, revealing a wild, confident smile. "I am the woman who shot down the sun! I turn the impossible into the possible!"
[SERVANT SUMMONED: RIDER - FRANCIS DRAKE]
Cipher had traveled to England specifically to find a ship-based Servant. He was hoping for Columbus or maybe Blackbeard.
Instead, he got Francis Drake. The woman who circumnavigated the globe. The pirate who broke the invincible Spanish Armada.
Historically, Drake was a man. But in the Fate universe, Drake possessed the skill Pioneer of the Stars (EX). It was a skill reserved for heroes who stood at the turning points of human history. It allowed them to defy logic, defy fate, and yes... defy gender norms.
"So," Chen muttered to his chat, trying not to stare at Drake's rather generous... assets. "She's a woman because she's just that awesome. Makes sense."
[Chat]:[History_Buff]: DRAKE IS A WOMAN?!
[Simp_Nation]: MOMMY PIRATE!
[Lore_Master]: Pioneer of the Stars. It's a broken skill. It literally means "I do what I want."
[Strategy]: Okay, but why Drake? Her Noble Phantasm is the Golden Hind. It's a ship. Fuyuki is mostly land.
Chen saw the doubts in the chat. He smiled, adjusting his glasses.
"I know what you're thinking," Chen said, his voice calm and analytical. "Why bring a boat to a land war? It's suicide, right?"
He paused for dramatic effect.
"Unless... there is no land."
[Chat]:[Question_Mark]: ???
[Confusion]: What?
"My plan," Chen announced, "is simple. I'm going to flood Fuyuki City."
The chat exploded.
[Chat]:[WTF]: FLOOD THE CITY?!
[Madman]: Is that even possible?!
[Physics]: Where are you getting the water? The river isn't big enough!
[Hype]: BRO IS PLAYING 4D CHESS!
"It's a gamble," Chen admitted. "In any other game, the map is static. But in Holy Grail War? The physics engine is real. The magic system is flexible. If I can generate enough water, the low-lying areas of Fuyuki will become a seabed."
He held up his relic: Poseidon's Trident.
"I spent my only Holy Grail on this," Chen explained. "It's not just a weapon. It's a catalyst. A shard of the Sea God's authority. It enforces the concept of 'Ocean' onto the environment."
He pointed to the massive, humming machine behind him on the docks.
"And this," he patted the metal casing, "is Volumen Hydragyrum's core. The Supreme Magic Furnace. It provides infinite mana."
[Chat]:[Lore_God]: Wait. Infinite mana + Water Summoning Magic + Poseidon's Authority?
[Math]: That... that might actually work.
[Terror]: He's going to drown the server.
Chen took a deep breath. This was it. His moment to go from a nobody streamer to a legend.
"Drake," Chen said. "Are you ready?"
Drake chugged the last of her ale and smashed the mug on the ground.
"Always, Master! Let's make some waves!"
Chen gripped the Trident. He thrust it into the glowing core of the Magic Furnace.
"I CALL UPON THE DEPTHS!" Chen shouted. "LET THE OCEAN CLAIM THIS LAND!"
The furnace roared. Blue light exploded from the Trident.
The water in Fuyuki Harbor began to boil. But it wasn't just boiling. It was multiplying.
Massive geysers of saltwater erupted from the bay. The sea level began to rise—not inches, but meters. A wall of water surged over the docks, smashing into the warehouses.
[SYSTEM WARNING][ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD DETECTED][SEA LEVEL RISING RAPIDLY]
In the distance, air raid sirens began to wail.
"It's working!" Chen yelled over the roar of the water. "Drake! Summon the ship!"
"Hah!" Drake laughed, throwing her arms wide. "Golden Hind! Set sail!"
A massive galleon, glowing with golden light, burst from the swirling waters. It rode the crest of the artificial tsunami, its cannons primed and ready.
Chen jumped onto the deck.
"Now," Chen grinned, looking out at the flooding city. "Let's see how well knights and kings can swim."
[Chat]:[POG]: HE ACTUALLY DID IT!
[Disaster_Movie]: This isn't a game anymore. It's a blockbuster!
[RIP_Maverick]: Maverick is in the bathhouse! He's gonna drown!
[Tactician]: This changes everything. Ground-based Servants are screwed. Drake is king... err, queen of the ocean.
As the water rushed into the streets of Fuyuki, turning roads into rivers and buildings into islands, the other players got the notification.
[WARNING: MAP ALTERATION][THE CITY IS SINKING]
At the ruins of the bathhouse, Maverick and Nero were staring at the sky.
"Master," Nero said, frowning. "Why is the street... wet?"
Maverick looked down. A wave of seawater washed over his feet.
"Uh oh," Maverick whispered. "I think someone just flushed the toilet on the whole city."
