Before Felix could celebrate for long, the remaining new-type fighter jets formed squads and charged at his Dawn from three directions.
Rat-a-tat-tat!!!
Machine cannons continuously spat fire as bullets streamed from their barrels.
Enhanced by that peculiar sensation, Felix's battlefield perception sharpened further, allowing him to maneuver with effortless precision. The Dawn executed evasive maneuvers mid-air, dodging bullets from multiple angles. While evading, the Guuru—remotely controlled by Felix—attacked from another direction.
The machine cannons mounted on the Guuru opened fire.
Rat-a-tat-tat!!!
Bullets shot out from the cannon barrels.
The new-type fighter squadron attacking from the left was instantly dismantled.
With threats from one side eliminated, Felix faced the remaining enemies from the other two directions with much greater ease.
As the Dawn raised its Heavy Assault Machine Gun, ready to fire, Felix sensed danger. He pulled the trigger while simultaneously executing a maneuver.
The attitude adjustment thrusters roared at full power.
The Dawn shifted left in the air while twisting right, aiming its gun at the enemies on the right.
Muzzle flash erupted as a bullet left the chamber.
Seeing this, the pilot of the new-type fighter swiftly evaded.
The Dawn fired a second shot.
Boom!
A loud impact echoed from the fighter.
Thick smoke billowed from the aircraft, its tail thrusters flickering unstably before cutting out entirely.
Without propulsion, the fighter began to lose altitude. Just then, the Guuru swept in, its cannons blazing.
A bullet struck the front of the fighter.
Kaboom!
A violent explosion erupted.
After destroying the fighter, the Guuru, under Felix's command, flew toward the Dawn. Having dodged attacks from all sides, the Dawn landed back on the Guuru, its locking mechanism re-engaging with a solid click.
"If only it could be upgraded to match the Destiny-00," Felix murmured, staring at the front screen.
The Guuru carried the Dawn through the air, evading incoming fire as the Heavy Assault Machine Gun in the Dawn's hands blasted forward.
The moment bullets left the barrel—
Felix sensed threats closing in from both flanks.
His hands moved instantly. The Guuru surged forward at maximum thrust, speeding ahead to avoid the flanking attacks.
"Captain, your Heavy Sword!"
A voice crackled over the comm.
Hearing this, Felix glanced at the screen and saw a DINN hurling the Heavy Sword he had discarded earlier back toward him.
"I thought it had fallen to the ground," Felix remarked with a light laugh, eyeing the returning blade.
The Dawn evaded an attack.
Crack!
The Heavy Assault Machine Gun fired.
Boom!
An explosion roared.
Flames bloomed ahead and to the Dawn's left.
After the strike, the Dawn reached out and caught the Heavy Sword mid-air.
Gripping the Heavy Sword firmly, Felix stomped on the pedal.
The Dawn accelerated at breakneck speed, charging forward.
"Bastard!"
Witnessing Dawn's charge, Marty cursed under his breath.
His hands manipulated the controls, sending the new-model fighter into an evasive roll as it surged leftward.
Other new-model fighter pilots closed in on Felix, their fingers tightening on triggers.
Several fighters with remaining missiles launched their payloads. Guided by front-mounted infrared targeting systems, the missiles streaked toward Dawn at high speed.
The instinctual sense of crisis surfaced once more.
Felix's hands moved across the controls. Dawn's free hand gripped the Heavy Assault Machine Gun, firing toward one direction.
Rat-tat-tat-tat!!!
Rapid gunfire echoed through the sky.
Boom-boom-boom!!!
Explosions followed closely behind the gunfire.
After neutralizing threats from this direction, Dawn evaded incoming attacks.
With impossibly precise timing, it dodged the remaining undestroyed missiles.
Once clear, the Heavy Assault Machine Gun roared to life again.
Bullets obliterated the remaining missiles.
Having destroyed the missiles, Felix again sensed danger approaching from the left.
His hands moved instinctively.
Under Felix's control, Dawn dodged toward the right front.
Having avoided the attack, the Heavy Assault Machine Gun fired.
Bang!
The rounds pierced through the new-model fighter.
Boom!
A brilliant explosion and blinding flash illuminated the sky.
Amid the ongoing explosions, Felix remained constantly active. His combat intuition flared again, detecting renewed danger.
Dawn dodged once more, this time toward the left front.
Before he could resume firing,
His intuition screamed warning again!
Felix had no choice but to continue evasive maneuvers.
Dawn dodged again.
"These guys are definitely tougher than previous enemies," Felix remarked, though a hint of confusion colored his voice. "And the longer this goes on, the better their coordination seems to become."
The thought surfaced in his mind, but Felix found no answers. Guided by instinct, he continued maneuvering Dawn to evade their attacks.
Meanwhile, Heine destroyed a Vanguard Fighter with his GINN and observed Felix's battle. Noting how this fighter squadron far surpassed other Earth Alliance Forces in both mobility and coordination, and seeing his commander facing some difficulty, he voiced his concern over communications.
"Commander, are you alright?"
"What could possibly happen to me!"
Felix's slightly teasing voice responded through the comms, easing Heine's worries.
Hearing this, most of Heine's concern dissipated.
He maneuvered his GINN to avoid incoming attacks from ahead.
At that moment, Heine saw his commander piloting his MS, using its weapons to shoot down another new-model fighter.
"Focus on your own battle. Don't worry about me."
"Understood."
Nodding in acknowledgment,
Heine concentrated on controlling his GINN in combat, no longer diverting attention to his commander's situation.
For Felix, his powerful intuition provided such advantage that he remained perfectly composed even against the new-model fighter squadron's assaults. He consistently managed to pilot Dawn to evade enemy attacks at the last possible moment.
"Damn it! How is he doing that?"
Watching his carefully calculated attacks being effortlessly dodged, Floy muttered in disbelief.
"Floy, watch out!"
An urgent voice shouted through the comms.
Following the warning, Dawn appeared directly before Floy.
Dawn's Heavy Sword came slashing toward Floy at tremendous speed.
Floy's face contorted fiercely as he gripped the control sticks with both hands, maneuvering the fighter to its maximum capability in a desperate attempt to escape this certain death.
Boom!
A deafening impact sounded.
The nose of Floy's fighter was struck by the Heavy Sword, instantly shattering the cockpit beyond recognition. Floy inside the cockpit was already dead beyond any doubt.
Withdrawing the Heavy Sword, Dawn swiftly evaded.
The attacks coming from both sides missed their mark.
Kaboom!
A violent explosion erupted as Floy's fighter disintegrated into fragments that scattered toward the ground.
