Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: The First Battle of Jachin Due (Part 2)

Felix sat in the cockpit, his hands continuously executing maneuvers as action commands generated under his control. The quantum computer integrated and processed the inputted movement instructions, ultimately outputting them for execution.

In the dark expanse of space, the Dawn mobile suit mobilized—moving forward, left, right, and performing aerial flips in one fluid sequence. Through this coherent series of maneuvers, it evaded attacks coming from multiple directions.

Raising the Heavy Assault Machine Gun, he aimed at a Mobius ahead. The Mobius pilot, seeing Dawn's movements, paled in shock and hastily attempted evasive maneuvers.

Watching the dodging Mobius, a faint, triumphant smile curled at the corner of Felix's lips.

The Heavy Assault Machine Gun fired!

Bullets traversed the cosmos, intercepting the Mobius along its evasion path. The high-velocity rounds, carrying immense kinetic energy, pierced through the Mobius' armor.

The pilot had no chance to evade.

He could only perish along with the Mobius in the vastness of space.

After the shot, Dawn's propulsion system activated, launching the mobile suit vertically upward like a spring.

Two streams of bullets fired from both sides missed their mark.

Maneuvering mid-air to face an enemy on one flank, Felix fired the Heavy Assault Machine Gun.

The rounds left the barrel, striking and piercing the evading Mobius.

Having destroyed that unit, Felix piloted Dawn into a leftward maneuver, dodging an attack from behind.

No sooner had he completed this evasion than he executed a somersault maneuver in space, once again avoiding incoming fire.

After these two sets of maneuvers, Dawn aimed its Heavy Assault Machine Gun at another Mobius.

The two guns fired in sequence with a brief interval.

The first shot baited the Mobius into evading, and Felix, seizing the opportunity, fired the second shot.

Instantly, the Mobius was obliterated.

Following the attack, Felix piloted Dawn to assault a Mobius on the left.

"Damn it!"

The Mobius pilot's face twisted into a grimace at the sight of the white MS charging toward him, growling under his breath.

While maneuvering the Mobius to flee, he shouted over the comms.

"Save me! Save me!"

"Stop shouting!"

A reply came through the comms.

Six Mobius units surged forward, firing at the Dawn piloted by Felix as they advanced.

Observing their attacks, Felix manipulated the controls, executing rolls, lateral shifts, ascents, and descents.

Every maneuver was executed with pinpoint accuracy!

He dodged the onslaught of attacks again and again.

Despite the evasion, Dawn continued its high-speed charge toward the Mobius. Seeing that his allies' assistance had little effect, the Mobius pilot turned ashen-faced.

Clenching his teeth, he maneuvered the Mobius to dodge while firing at Dawn, again pleading to his comrades over the comms.

"Save me! Please, save me!"

"Fuck! Stop yelling!"

Listening to this guy's voice, the six Mobius pilots sent for rescue vented their frustration at missing their shots, replying displeasedly over the communications.

After this response, they continued controlling their Mobius units to open fire.

As they targeted the Dawn, additional firepower suddenly appeared in space, catching the six Mobius pilots completely off guard.

Three units were instantly destroyed by the unexpected attacks.

The remaining three, seeing their comrades blown up, immediately performed evasive maneuvers. Felix seized this moment to act, controlling the Dawn to fire at the three Mobius units.

Three shots were fired, accurately shooting them down!

"Captain Griffith, we've been ordered to provide support!"

Inside the Dawn's cockpit, Felix heard his comrades' voices.

After listening, a faint smile appeared at the corner of Felix's mouth as he warmly welcomed them.

"Welcome to the battle!"

Having said this, Felix returned to his tasks.

The Dawn accelerated to catch up with another Mobius, swinging its Heavy Sword down upon it. After destroying the enemy, the Dawn raised its Heavy Assault Machine Gun and opened fire.

Round after round was fired from the barrel.

The bullets raced toward the Mobius ahead.

Explosion after explosion lit up the void of space.

After firing these shots, Felix controlled the Dawn to perform evasive maneuvers.

Dodging the attacks from behind.

He turned and fired a shot.

After destroying it, the Dawn turned to face other enemies.

Rear Area

Earth Alliance Combined Fleet Flagship

"Commander, ZAFT's frontline forces have been reinforced."

"Hmm! Understood."

Nodding, the Commander acknowledged.

Observing the current situation, the Commander issued an order.

"Order the retreat! Warships will provide cover for the forward Mobile Armor Unit!"

"Yes, sir!"

The Adjutant responded.

Turning to the Communications Officer, he relayed the command.

"Retreat! Warships will cover the Mobile Armor Unit!"

"Yes, sir!"

The Communications Officer replied.

He then transmitted the order!

Upon receiving the command, all warships from the Fifth and Sixth Fleets launched signal flares for retreat while simultaneously unleashing a larger-scale barrage forward.

Along with these, specially designed flash missiles for space use were also launched.

Frontline

The Mobius formations, upon seeing the signal flares and receiving the retreat order via communications, ceased their attempts to engage ZAFT in combat and instead focused on preparing to withdraw.

"Captain, the Earth Alliance Forces are retreating!"

Heine, who saw the signal flares, reported to Felix via communications. Felix, who also saw the flares, nodded and issued an order over the comms.

"Be careful of the Earth Alliance's covering fire!"

No sooner had he spoken than thick beams shot toward their position.

Felix piloted the Dawn to evade through aerial maneuvers while observing the Mobius units' movements, controlling the Dawn to open fire.

Two shots were fired, shooting down two Mobius units.

After completing the attack, Felix noticed other incoming attacks and maneuvered the Dawn accordingly.

He aimed the Heavy Assault Machine Gun forward and fired!

The bullets destroyed several missiles.

The exploding missile suddenly produced an extremely blinding light, instantly overwhelming the optical sensors and turning the screens into a white haze.

"A specially made flash missile?"

Muttering to himself as he observed the screen, Felix immediately began maneuvering the Dawn erratically through space while opening communications to check on the others.

"What's your status?"

"Commander, the Earth Alliance Forces launched specialized flash missiles. Our optical sensors are compromised."

Hearing the response over the comms, Felix felt a surge of tension, worried that the Earth Alliance might seize this moment to launch a surprise attack.

However, Felix's concern proved unnecessary. The specialized flash missiles not only disrupted ZAFT's offensive but also prevented the Earth Alliance's Mobile Armors from targeting ZAFT forces, as the flash missile's effects were indiscriminate.

No one could negate the impact of the flash missiles.
