Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: The Second Spaceport Defense Battle (Part 3)

After shooting down the fighter, Felix maneuvered his GINN through the air, dodging left to evade incoming fire. The GINN raised its Heavy Assault Machine Gun and opened fire on the targets ahead.

The two charging Vanguard Fighters dodged the bullets.

Just as they prepared to continue their assault, the GINN moved even faster.

Boom! Boom!

Two explosions erupted ahead.

Amid the flames, the Vanguard Fighter pilots were consumed by the blasts.

Shifting his gaze, the GINN followed Felix's controls to evade shot after shot. The thrusters at the rear of the Guuru burst with powerful propulsion, driving the GINN forward in a charge.

Incoming attacks were dodged with precise maneuvers by Felix.

As they flew, the distance to the Vanguard Fighter squadron ahead narrowed.

"Everyone, scatter!"

A squadron leader issued the order over the comms.

After the command was given, he was the first to maneuver his Vanguard Fighter.

Watching the movements of the Vanguard Fighters, Felix allowed a faint smile to curl his lips as his finger squeezed the trigger. The GINN raised its Heavy Assault Machine Gun, and bullets shot from the barrel.

Ten rounds were fired in an instant.

Each of the ten bullets followed a different trajectory, flying toward separate targets.

"Bastard!"

A Vanguard Fighter pilot cursed at the sight of the incoming bullets. Gripping the control stick, he executed an emergency maneuver.

"Bastard! Where are you maneuvering?"

Halfway through the maneuver, his comrade's angry voice crackled over the comms. Glancing at the screen, the pilot broke into a cold sweat—his earlier maneuver had nearly caused a collision with his ally.

Fortunately, his comrade had altered his Vanguard Fighter's course at the last moment, averting a crash.

"Sorry!"

"Next—"

Just as he finished apologizing, his comrade's voice came through the comms again. But before the sentence was complete, it dissolved into static.

Through the static, he saw on his screen that the GINN piloted by Felix had appeared beside him, gripping a Heavy Sword. His comrade's Vanguard Fighter had already turned into a ball of flames, disintegrating into fragments that plummeted toward the ground.

Terror flashed in his eyes, rendering him speechless. His hands moved instinctively, without conscious thought.

But his maneuver speed was no match for the GINN's actions.

The GINN raised its Heavy Assault Machine Gun, the muzzle flashing as a bullet shot from the chamber.

Under his horrified gaze, the bullet, traveling at several times the speed of sound, slammed into his fighter. The fighter's armor stood no chance against the bullet's immense kinetic energy, shattering instantly.

After the fighter was torn apart, he was torn apart as well.

Blood splattered across the cockpit, the explosion's flames vaporizing it, until nothing remained of the pilot in the raging inferno.

The only proof of identity might be the dog tag falling toward the ground amid the fragments of the Vanguard Fighter.

Having eliminated that foe, GINN executed aerial maneuvers.

Left, backward, barrel rolls—a series of evasive actions performed under Felix's control, each one deftly avoiding incoming attacks.

While maneuvering so dynamically, GINN fired its Heavy Assault Machine Gun.

Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat!!!

Crisp, rhythmic gunfire, like a piano sonata, echoed through the sky.

Muzzle flashes flared continuously as bullets streamed forth one after another.

After the gunfire came loud, resonant explosions. They bloomed in the air like fireworks, scattering metal fragments earthward.

"Bastard! I'll kill you!"

Watching his comrade die before his eyes, the squadron leader's eyes turned bloodshot, his face contorted with rage. He roared and charged in his Vanguard Fighter straight toward the GINN piloted by Felix.

Seeing the attacking fighter on his screen,

Felix evaded with GINN, raising the Heavy Assault Machine Gun as he dodged, bullets flying from its barrel.

What surprised Felix slightly was how the enemy managed to evade his precisely calculated shots.

"Not bad."

A faint smile touched Felix's lips as he murmured softly.

GINN ceased firing the Heavy Assault Machine Gun, weaving through the air to avoid the Machine Cannon rounds from the Vanguard Fighter.

Watching the enemy close in,

Felix sidestepped the reckless charge, raised the Heavy Sword, and delivered a clean, decisive slash across the fighter.

The nose section instantly separated from the fuselage.

The bisected Vanguard Fighter plummeted toward the ground.

The fuselage exploded during its descent.

Inside the nose section—

"Damn it, why won't it work?"

He pulled the ejection mechanism, desperate to escape, only to find it unresponsive. Panic and fear enveloped him as the nose continued its fall.

A few hundred meters vanished in seconds.

The nose crashed violently into the ground, the impact shattering it instantly—and with it, the life of the pilot inside.

In the sky,

Felix piloted GINN, still weaving through attacks from the Vanguard Fighters, dodging assault after assault, his Heavy Assault Machine Gun firing relentlessly.

One by one, Vanguard Fighters were shot down.

Inside a Tank on the ground,

The commander observed the aerial battle, his attention caught by the GINN Felix controlled.

"This GINN clearly operates differently from the others!"

Noticing the anomaly, he muttered to himself.

Then, he ordered the gunner:

"Open fire on that GINN."

"Yes, sir!"

The gunner acknowledged, rotating the turret and elevating the barrel slightly.

The swiveling turret struggled to lock on.

"Commander, its maneuvers are too fast—I can't get a clear aim."

After several attempts, the gunner still couldn't complete targeting and reported to the tank commander with frustration in his voice. The tank commander thought for a moment upon hearing this, then suddenly had an idea and reported to the temporary commander.

"Commander, I have something to report!"

"Speak!"

The commander's voice came through the communication channel.

Following this, the tank commander reported: "Commander, I suspect that ZAFT's white MS might have changed its paint scheme to ordinary colors, blending in with the regular MS units to attack us!"

After saying this, he shared the confirmed target with the commander. After verifying the information, the commander replied through the communication channel: "Your speculation makes sense. I've also noticed something different about this MS."

After a brief pause, the commander continued: "I'll immediately report to headquarters and have them deploy the prepared troops."
