Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: The Earth Alliance Forces Launch the First Attack

"We need to enhance our aerial patrol and alert capabilities. From now on, all of us must enter a state of combat readiness to avoid being caught off guard by a surprise attack from the Earth Alliance Forces."

Looking at the map, Felix spoke with a heavy tone, his expression slightly grim. Andrew agreed with a hum.

"Mm!"

After humming in agreement, Andrew speculated, "The Earth Alliance Forces have already been caught off guard twice by the side effects of the Neutron Jammer disrupting communications and radar. If they launch another attack, I think they must have found a way to counter it. By then, our advantages will be greatly diminished."

"Your speculation makes sense."

Nodding, Felix agreed. After speaking, he carefully reviewed the information on the map before him, making some new deployment arrangements as he did so.

Once the adjustments were complete, he turned to Andrew and asked, "What do you think of this?"

"The adjustments are excellent."

Nodding, Andrew voiced his approval.

Just as he finished speaking, a soldier stood at the door and called out loudly, "Report!"

"Enter!"

Raising his head to look at the door, Felix spoke. The soldier entered the room, saluted Felix and Andrew, and then reported to Felix.

"Captain, a message from the Ministry of Defense!"

"Read it!"

Uttering a single word, Felix continued to study the contents of the map. The soldier lifted the virtual display in his hands and recited the contents from the virtual screen.

"Based on the feedback from your unit, confirmed by the Ministry of Defense and approved by the Supreme Council! Additional troops and a new batch of supplies have been allocated to your unit! These reinforcements and supplies are expected to arrive around March 15th! Your unit is expected to hold Victoria Spaceport at all costs until the reinforcements and new supplies arrive! Issued by the PLANT Ministry of Defense!"

"Send a reply to the Ministry of Defense!"

After listening to the entire document, Felix gave the order without turning his head. The soldier acknowledged the command with a "Yes," saluted, put down the virtual display, turned, and walked out of the room.

Felix, who had been looking down at the map, glanced briefly at the content displayed on the virtual screen before turning to Andrew with a slight smile on his lips.

"Captain Barthfeld, do you think we can hold out until the reinforcements and supplies arrive?"

"If the Earth Alliance Forces' attack frequency isn't intense, we might have a chance. But if it's very intense, it will be difficult to hold Victoria Spaceport."

At this point, Andrew turned to Felix and continued, "Even with an elite Mobile Suit Pilot like you, it's hard to turn the tide in a high-frequency war. After all, some situations can't be reversed by a single powerful Mobile Suit Pilot."

"Continuous high-intensity combat will gradually deplete our forces. Once we reach a state of insufficient troops, no one here will be able to turn the tide."

"Then we can only take it one step at a time and hope the Earth Alliance Forces don't attack too frequently."

With a worried expression and a tone carrying hints of prayer, Felix sighed deeply in his heart after speaking these words!

...

March 11th, 3:00 PM

While discussing matters at the command center, Felix and Andrew heard urgent alarm sounds blaring!

Following the alarm notification, a soldier rushed into the room and reported the situation to them.

"Captain, the Earth Alliance Forces have launched an attack!"

"Understood!"

Felix responded briefly before turning to Andrew.

"The Earth Alliance's air forces will definitely arrive before their ground forces. I'll lead the Mobile Suit Unit to intercept their air forces and prevent them from breaking through our defensive positions.

This will buy you enough time to better block the Earth Alliance's ground forces."

After thinking for a moment, Andrew voiced his opposition.

"I believe the Earth Alliance Forces are likely conducting a coordinated air-ground assault this time, not what you imagine.

After all, the Earth Alliance clearly understands that separate operations could result in losing both forces, so a combined assault is more probable."

Hearing this, Felix thought for a moment and nodded in agreement.

"You make a valid point."

Pausing briefly, Felix continued.

"Even so, we should mobilize first and deliver a heavy blow at the frontlines to weaken the Earth Alliance Forces, making the defense of Victoria Spaceport easier."

"You're right."

Andrew nodded in response.

After this conversation concluded, Felix and Andrew left the room.

Inside the temporary hangar at the spaceport where Mobile Suits were docked

Seated in the White GINN's cockpit, Felix activated the White GINN and issued orders through the communication system.

"For this operation, we'll divide into three groups. One group will remain on ground as reserves, rotating when necessary while providing support to other battlefield sectors.

Another group will work with ground forces to establish the final defensive line for Victoria Spaceport.

The remaining units will sortie and intercept the enemy from various directions."

After issuing the orders, Felix began organizing the units. Once the grouping was completed, he piloted the White GINN into the air with assistance from the GU-W.

After briefly hovering in the air, he led a small unit toward due north, while the remaining forces not following Felix proceeded to other directions according to their assignments to engage the enemy.

Having flown barely over twenty kilometers through the air, urgent attack warning alarms sounded in their ears. The forward situation appeared magnified on screens, revealing over a hundred missiles speeding toward them.

The missiles flew at extremely high speeds with stable trajectories.

'It seems these missiles have abandoned radar guidance in favor of less accurate inertial guidance systems for targeting.'

Observing the missile trajectories, Felix analyzed the situation internally while his finger pulled the trigger to open fire.

The White GINN raised its Heavy Assault Machine Gun, finger pressing the trigger as round after round erupted from the muzzle.

Within an extremely short timeframe, every bullet in the magazine was expended.

Dozens of bullets flew through the air, accurately striking the incoming missiles. A series of explosions erupted ahead, the fiery blasts forming what appeared to be a wall of flames before their eyes.

While Felix was firing, the GINN units accompanying him also opened fire.

Their combined volley eliminated all remaining missiles threatening their position.

After neutralizing the missile threat, Felix and his team continued advancing forward.

Having progressed only about thirty kilometers, they encountered another wave of missiles. These were clearly different from the previous ones - these were deliberately targeting them rather than being aimed at Victoria Spaceport.
