A deafening sound erupted from the direction, sending shockwaves spreading from the location, sending dust, gravel, and stones flying as cao yaun slammed the colossal body of the mountain goat into the rocky bed. The beast expelled a mouthful of blood from its maw but continued to struggle to get up.
Not giving it a chance to make another move while still clutching its body, cao yaun released his right arm, channeling the power of the twin runes straight into his right arms. He clenched his palm, condensing the air around his fist as cao yaun delivered a thunderous punch to the side of the beast's neck.
CRACK!!!
The force of the punch was unfathomable, as the impact was so strong that it broke the thick and muscular neck of the creature, instantly snapping its spine. The iron-hooved mountain goat released a final bleat, signifying its last breath as the wild and feral light in the bloodshot eyes of the beast instantly disappeared.
As cao yaun released a sigh of relief, he deactivated the twin runes, already experiencing the familiar tiredness that came with using the artifacts. Cao yuan released a sigh of relief realizing he could contend with any tier 1 beast in the mortal realm with the power of the two runes

Just a moment after finishing off the mountain goat, and before cao yaun could make any attempts to skin the beast, a deep growl reverberated from the top of an adjacent hill. Massive boulders, pebbles, and stones rolled down the hillside as a gargantuan beast charged down the slope, its eyes fixated on the dead mountain goat.
The creature stopped a few paces in front of the dead beast, assuming a stance similar to that of a mother hen protecting her young from the talons of a hawk. Cao yaun took a step back, eyeing the newcomer with equal parts of caution and intrigue. Cao yaun halted about ten meters from the monster, sizing the beast.
The pressure rolling off the beast's body was enough to show that it was a peak Tier 1 Mortal Realm monster. It was a massive creature whose body seemed to be a mixture of a komodo dragon and a heavily scaled lizard. Its body was covered in rows of overlapping scales, each as hard as steel, covered its body, giving it a fearsome appearance.The creature had a muscular body built for power and endurance.
A long, thick, and muscular tail, each as long as the beast's body trailed behind the creature. The tail's tip was jagged, serrated like a chainsaw. Its skull was broad, with powerful jaws that could split boulders open to reveal rows of razor-sharp teeth. The beast's fingers were thick and curved, each with a set of dangerous claws that could tear through stone with relative ease.
Roar!!!
Its eyes, which had turned gray, locked onto cao yaun as it charged furiously at him. Its loud cry sent shockwaves that sent more rocks and boulders rolling down the hillside.
Bang!
Cao yaun was quick to respond to the creature's blind charge, flexing his right hand as he slapped the beast's head with the iron rod which he quickly pulled out from his storage pouch, sending it to the left, halting its charge.
Crack!!
Just as cao yaun released a sigh of relief, a cracking noise reverberated from his hands. The iron rod that had accompanied him from brightmoon city was damaged; several fissures ran through it, indicating severe weakening.
Oh shit…

Cao Yaun cursed as the berserk armored thug soldier used the opportunity to swipe its tail at him. The force sent the young man flying backward as the creature's tail broke the iron rod that was raised in front of him, breaking it into two pieces.
Blarg!!!
Cao Yaun's body rolled down the hillside as he spat a stream of blood from his mouth, sending colorful sprays in the air. The blood painted the monster's body as it continued to charge at the young man, making the beast appear even more vicious than before.
His body lay sprawled on the ground after being thrown backward as he blew a stream of blood from his mouth, the liquid splashing on the beast. The monster had also resumed its charge, and the blood smeared on it made it look even more fearsome.
As he scrambled to his feet, his body protested in pain as several deep bruises, particularly on his chest, throbbed in agony. Cao yaun's new shirt was also damaged as he finally got to his feet. The beast was already upon him again.
Cao yaun threw his body backward as the creature's mighty jaws snapped at his torso, missing him by mere inches. The beast let loose another deafening roar, shaking the air above as it continued to charge. Once again, the force exerted sent shockwaves that broke several rocks and boulders in their path. Just as it got within striking range, Cao yaun jumped to the side, avoiding the charge while planting his feet firmly on the ground.
Crash!!!!
The force sent a violent gust of air to his right, but he did not have the luxury to catch his breath as the beast lowered its thick and clawed forelimbs and swiped them at his midsection. The thick claws raked Cao Yuan's chest, tearing his black tank top and inflicting deep bleeding gashes on his arms as he used them to parry the beast's blow. The force sent him down on his knees, and the monster was quick to respond.
The powerful creature did not give him a moment to gather his thoughts and senses, as it twisted its body and brought its tail in a low sweeping motion that targeted his neck. Noticing the dangerous move, Cao Yaun quickly brought his hands on the gravel and used them to roll his body backward, avoiding the tail as the spinning appendage passed over his head. The tail sliced through a massive boulder at his back, splitting it into two as it passed.
The fight turned brutal and chaotic. The Berserk Armored Thug Soldier was relentless. It charged again and again, using its powerful body like a battering ram. Cao Yaun dodged and countered with his fists, but the creature's tough scales absorbed much of the damage. Its long tail whipped around like a deadly weapon, forcing Cao Yaun to stay mobile to avoid being cut in half by the jagged edges.
The beast continued to attack, its tail lashing mid-air, trying to strike him; however, cao yaun was always quick to evade. The monster would lunge at him with its jagged teeth, but the Cao Yaun would always manage to twist his body just in time to avoid the beast's powerful jaws. However, the creature's claws would sometimes catch him across the chest, drawing blood from his body. Once the beast missed, cao yaun would deliver a thunderous punch to its maw, forcing it to pause and reposition itself.
The hours ticked by as cao yaun and the beast rage on moving down the slope of the hill, their battle becoming more chaotic and brutal as both sides becomed injured. With cao yuan sustening heavier injuries than the various cracks on the berserk armoured thug soldier whose cracks seams like a superficial wound. Despite that it strength, endurance and stamina remain as high as before.
Another luck dodge and Cao Yuan pressed his back against the cliff face, his chest heaving as he stared at the relentless Tier 2 mid-rank predator turning around to face him once more. His baseline strength wasn't enough for him to survive this cursed creature.
